That’s exactly what Tolkien based it on. Lotr is a combination of Anglo-Saxon mythology and paganism with Tolkien’s own devout Catholic beliefs.
@milko540
@milko540 10 ай бұрын
@@tudoraragornofgreyscot8482I don’t like when people say Tolkien’s work was inspired by paganism, because it makes it seem like he purposely decided that paganism was pretty cool and put it in his work. Rather, he was fascinated by ancient Anglo-Saxon and European myths that HAPPENED to be pagan due to the circumstances of the time, and that’s why you can find pagan influences in LOTR. I just don’t like people saying he put paganism into LOTR because then it leads to conspiracy theorists who say he was secretly a pagan, or something (yes they actually exist)

@@milko540Considering God is truth and fiction is not truth, God would not approve of fictional stories. Imagine if man would spend as much time and attention on reading and meditating on God's word, which is truth, that they do on fiction which leads away from truth. From birth we are thrown into a world of fairytales and fiction and are kept in it everyday, unless we break free from it's spell.

@@comenowletusreason6330This is one of the stupidest and most ignorant things I've ever read. Jesus taught in parables, which by definition are fictional stories meant to teach deeper truths. If you actually think that God doesn't approve of fiction (a profoundly arrogant, ignorant, and baseless lie), then you're likely part of a cult that has taught you something profoundly false.

@@IsraelCountryCubeIf your reading the Bible for the first time it is best to just read through it without worrying about understanding it. You'll be surprised how much more you get out of it. Just focus on sticks out to you. Eventually you'll start seeing a flow of patterns and rhythm to the word. Let it interpret itself. It makes it easier to spot false man made teachings. Also, pay attention to how often it warns against false teachers and how to discern the difference between them and the truth of scripture.

@@comenowletusreason6330 The best way to read the Bible for the first time is to start with the book of John. Then read the rest of the gospels, then read the 5 books of Moses, then I would say either read the writings, (Psalms Proverbs Ecclesiasties, Song of Solomon and Lamentations), then the prophets and the histories then the rest of the new testament.

The sons of Elohiem were then and are now human beings. The closest sons of Elohiem that were on the divine council are Adam before the fall, Enoch, and Elijah for the 2 of them were taken into heaven without dying.

Many people like to claim God is a narcissist for creating divine beings to worship him, but they're missing the point. Imagine being an all powerful being, capable of everything God is (this is before Creation mind you). You can do anything and everything, but until you decide, nothing exists. How very lonely it must have been to exist BEFORE existence. God wanted company, relationships. Sure, the divine council worships God, but He's GOD. Without Him, we would not exist. He tells us to worship him above all others because without Him none of the "others" would exists. That's why He gets jealous when Humans worship false gods, for what is the created in comparison to the creator?

Heiser's "divine council" theology is flawed because he twisted or otherwise distorted key passages, such as Psalm 82, Deuteronomy 32:8, 4:19, and others. I recommend reading the book "The Unbiblical Realm: Refuting the Divine Council of Michael Heiser’s Deuteronomy 32 Worldview" by Heath Henning. Those interested in videos on this topic can check out my series called "The UnBiblical Realm: Refuting Michael Heiser's Divine Council w/Heath Henning. @@tryingnottobeasmartass757 So you disagree with the video? There is no 'Divine Council'? There are no 'Sons of Elohim'? No family with which God communes with? Does not God promise us eternal life (John 17:3, Romans 6:23)? How can a transient Being become eternal? How can a Being with a beginning have no end? God claimed to have known people before they were formed in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5), that the 'sons of God' were present before the Earth was formed (Job 38:7) and that the spirits of Man return to God upon death (Ecclesiastes 12:7). How could our spirit return to Him if they were not with Him before we were born? Before He breathed our spirits into our bodies?

@@tryingnottobeasmartass757 Whether you wish to admit it or not it is clear from the text that God was not alone before the Earth was created. Genesis 1-3 clearly demonstrates God speaking with one or more other Beings during the Creation and the events of the Fall. (Genesis 1:26; 3:22) The Lord Jesus Christ claimed that He was with God the Father before the Earth was formed. (John 17:5, 8) The Lord Jesus Christ also claimed that God the Father is His God and Father as well as our God and Father. (John 20:17) So - if you believe that God the Father is Elohim, that the 'Sons of Elohim' were with Him before the Earth was formed, that the Lord Jesus Christ was with Him before the Earth was formed and that we share the same God and Father as the Lord Jesus Christ... What is the logical conclusion? We were also with God the Father before the Earth was formed. We are the children of Elohim. The 'Sons of Elohim'.

Just as in the book of job when the angels came before God. As was Satan's response to give a report. Every being has something to do and must give report to The Most High God when requested. According to scripture as Jesus parable that The Master and the slaves he gave money to. " What did you do with what I have given my son " I can imagine being in God's court giving my report. Praise God Hallelujah Thank you Lord Jesus Amen.

Hey guys can you answer a contradiction for me. In Acts 7:47- 49 it says God cant dwell in a temple made by humans but 1 Kings 8:13 says God dwelled in the temple Solomon made him and in Exodus 25:8-9 God dwelled in the Tabernacle.
@VicGeorge2K6

It isn't that He can't dwell in temples made with hands. It's just that He now prefers to dwell within us, since we are now the temples of the Holy Spirit. When He dwelt within the Jewish Temples, He did so within a thick cloud as to shield humans from His full glory.

Stephen meant that God was not confined to the physical structure of the temple, as most people believed in ancient times (see 1 Kings 8:27). The Lord's covenant people have always and will always be instructed to build Temples leading up to Christ's return.

Always remember the main reason and think about it that Adam and Eve fell away from God we're just connected from God we can't communicate with God and it's because of Adam and Eve so the restoration process is very complicated and you can't simplify it. You can try to simplify it but it's a very dirty messy complicated restoration to communicate with God now he can't do it automatically
