A few things I noticed that made this such a great first day. Looks like there is an assistant of some kind in the room, there were multiple recess times, and the teachers had age appropriate activities. How refreshing to see a school district encourage these things. It's not like this everywhere. Boy I miss having an assistant and wish we had multiple recess times so kids could be kids and play.

Tommorow is my little sisters first day of school and I donno why I am so nervous for her I keep thinking abt how will it go cause she speaks English but not as good as other kids her age because it is her 2 language and I really hope she has a fun day and ur veidio really helped me calm down by knowing that she will be fine

Enjoy it while it lasts dude. I'm 24 but I'd give anything to go back to junior high. Those were some of the best years of my life. The good definitely outweighed the bad. Try your best to enjoy it. Time goes by so fast. Cherish your youth

My kindergarten teacher was so old and scary. She always yelled at us kids. She was so old she was in a walker. She never played with us or did anything fun. For context she was so old that she was also my dads best friends kindergarten teacher. I remember my mom being upset because on back to school night she had a poster saying Algore was the president but the election wasn't even over yet 😂 turned out he didn't win my mom was right

As if that many children would be holding a pencil correctly on the very first day of Kindy! You have to teach them how to hold a pencil at the start, unless kindergarten is not 4-5 years old in America.

My son has been holding crayons and pencils correctly since he was about 3.5. But he has also loved to draw and color since he was 2. He's 4 now and won't start kindergarten until he's 5 next year. I'm looking up videos like this and learning about K standards to prepare for what it's going to be like, but expectations of what a kid should be able to do are much higher now than they used to be when I was a kid.

We have what is called pre kindergarten in America. Where they teacher basic skills like pencil holding and tiring shoes. Also other skills to get them ready for kindergarten.

I understand why you might feel that way. But in general it is true. Hopefully if this teacher has a student with autism or she notices signs of autism she would be able to make adjustments as needed for that student.

It’s important to let the teacher know before you have it so they would know. If you(your parents) don’t speak up, you can’t expect the teacher to know. They’re not psychic 🤨

Btw I think my cousin put that comment bc I didn’t go to that school 2 I didn’t go to kindergarten that year I was 2016 at Lawrence elementary (Kansas school) then in 2019 I switched to Andover schools I went to wheatland elementary and my cousin went to this school! lol I was kinda confused for a sec then I released. I found this comment bc I’m brother is starting kindergarten soon so I had him watch this video lol

You forgot the part wherw most of the kods qould be crying scared and not immediately become ur friends and take orders. The day when its first day in school for all kids is extremely tiresome and frustrating.

Not sure where your kids go to school, but that is generally not our experience at all. It's definitely not tiresome or frustrating for "all kids."
