What is the FuelX Lite Mod Doing - Svartpilen 401

The FuelX Lite mod optimizes your fuel intake. Even if this is the only modification you do, you will see benefits in having a smoother ride on a Svartpilen 401 because these motorcycles run lean (low fuel mixture). If you do other mods like a full exhaust or air filters, then you should tune your motorcycle to get the proper fueling or use a FuelX Lite.
FuelX Lite auto-adjusts based on mods, riding style, and weather. There is also a Pro version, which has multiple fuel maps you can set up and a handlebar switch to toggle.
Note: The change in fueling helps in Closed Loop where the lambda (O2 sensor) provides input to the fueling. At higher rev ranges, the ECU takes over and at that point the motorcycle has a richer fuel mixture. If you want to fully optimize, tuning the ECU or getting a performance ECU will further help.

Just installed the DNA stage 1 and 2 filters and a Fuel X Pro on my Duke 390 today (similar bike, same engine I believe). Man what a difference! I already had an Akra slip-on on it. Can’t believe how much of difference it made. Way smoother, throttle responsive is way better. Exhaust note much bass-ier. I’m super impressed and delighted!

You've been so insightful and helpful man. Thank you for making your videos! I've been in the market for a new bike, I'm also 5'6" and I've been eyeing the Svart for months now. You're partially the reason why I put my deposit down for one this week! Svart aside, you're just super detailed and insightful about your experience and I find your videos extremely useful. I'm always excited to see what you post next! Cheers man

Just ordered a fuelx lite, DNA stage 2, and k&n filter. Hopefully it all works out for me. I've been thinking of changing my front sprocket to a 16 tooth one as well since I do a lot of longer commutes. But we'll see. Thanks for the vid

hi, I have the same motorbike, completely original and on the motorway it travels at low speeds such as 120 kmh (74 mph) at very high engine speeds such as 7000-8000. I would like to know if fitting a 16 tooth pinion to this fuel x pro or lite control unit will improve the situation
@ridingwithgravity401
@ridingwithgravity401 5 ай бұрын
@emanueleguarnuto4056 Should lower the RPMs; one person reported 5th gear was good for them up to 70 MPH and they only used 6th on highways above 70 MPH. And of course, if you don’t like it, you can always swap it out.

@@ridingwithgravity401 does the powertronic v4 ecu the same thing of the fuel x but adding more horsepower?
@ridingwithgravity401

The PowerTRONIC v4 does amount of fuel but also ignition, as a piggyback on the ECU, so it essentially has more features than the FuelX. This video from Big Bear Customs is a good summary. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Zp2FqtKksbyqd5s.html This is the link to the PowerTRONIC v4. powertronicecu.com/product/powertronic-husqvarna-svartpilen-vitpilen-401-2020-2022/

Hi, I love your videos! ❤ How significant is the change in mileage after installing FuelX lite? I have stock air filter and exhaust on my BMW G310r, planning to install FuelX Lite! 😀

I went from about 63 MPG to 58 MPG on my Svart after my mods, but that was with high performance air filters as well. I don’t have good numbers on just the FuelX sans other mods.

hello. my svart 401 2023 in still in break-in, 200km. Want to go for Fuelx lite, KN filter and DNA cover. It can be dangerous for my engine? or no risk If I don't go over 7500pm as the factory advises? thanks
@ridingwithgravity401
@ridingwithgravity401 4 ай бұрын
Engine break-in period is to help get all the parts to seal. The FuelX will protect your engine from the higher airflow from the new filters (DNA and K&N). So really it’s about the engine break-in period and keeping the revs reasonable. There are a number of posts or articles you can read about it. Like this one. www.motorcyclistonline.com/busting-engine-break-in-myth/ In that article the author keeps it below the rev limit but rides more aggressively. Not a noticeable difference in the final results of the break-in, in that article. All this to say, it’s up to you. Personally, I waited until after the break-in and first service before installing all my mods. That was because I wanted to get the sign off that the bike was okay before I messed with it. LOL I also just wanted more time “stock” so I could better appreciate the difference before and after modding.

@ridingwithgravity401 Hello man. thank you very much for your very complete reply. I think I will do the same, ride it one season without, let's see next winter. I only bought the LV 10 because the bike looks so good with it) Best

does this fix the low rpm issue when in low gear?
@ridingwithgravity401
@ridingwithgravity401 5 ай бұрын
Certainly smoothes out the bike at low RPMs and removes the "jittery" feel. I've heard that it will help a little with the mystery stall that can happen; people have reported that the Svart sometimes just randomly stalls. That has been true for me, but it's only happened a few times. It DID happen after I had the FuelX as well, but as I said, supposedly the fuel management from the FuelX can make that less of an issue. For what it's worth, I have found that the mystery stall happens when the bike is still warming up (first 5 to 10 minutes of riding) and usually when slowing down from 3rd to 2nd, for example.

Do you guys remove it before service? Because they do hook it up and check the values.
@ridingwithgravity401

I’m not planning on it. I waited until after the break-in period to do mods, but when I go back in the future I’m just going to tell them about the mods. This is the configuration I ride in so I want to make sure they check it in that same configuration. But that’s just me. I don’t really care about voiding the warranty or anything like that. I just want assurance that the bike is working as expected for safety purposes.

Would you recommend waiting until after the first service to mod with fuel x, k&n and dna? Sitting at around 300 miles and becoming impatient haha

what does it do to your range exactly
@ridingwithgravity401
@ridingwithgravity401 Жыл бұрын
For me, my miles per gallon dropped by 5 MPG (2.13 kilometers per liter) and since the tank is 2.51 gallons (9.5L), it reduced my range by about 12.55 miles or about 20 kilometers. Results will vary based on your body weight and riding style but that’s what my result was. My total range is about 145 miles these days.

I'm also considering upgrading my air filters and installing stage 1 modifications. Will it hurt the engine in the long run? The mechanics at my dealership were quite worried when I told them I would add more HP's to my svartpilen 401.
@ridingwithgravity401
@ridingwithgravity401 11 ай бұрын
You can hurt the engine if you don’t get something like the FuelX to manage the fuel. The extra air flow coming in will need a richer fuel mixture. Did they say what they were worried about? FWIW, I’ve been running this configuration for about a year (FuelX and filters) and just got my motorcycle serviced; they said it was in tip top shape, and I’ve personally found it to run flawlessly, no engine knocking or anything.

Do you know if this is legal for LAMs?
@ridingwithgravity401
@ridingwithgravity401 Жыл бұрын
Do not know. Others welcome to add anything they know on the subject. I suggest reading the LAMs (Learner Approved Motorcycles) specifications for your local area because it may be that ANY mod could make it no longer LAMs compliant. Note that I am not a lawyer nor does LAMs apply where I live. You could also ask a professional or the appropriate legal authority (and get something in writing). I don’t know where you are located but this is one link. Of course, it gives some guidelines on mods but it’s not 100% clear so I can understand that would be frustrating. www.nsw.gov.au/driving-boating-and-transport/driver-and-rider-licences/rider-licences/approved-motorcycles-for-novice-riders#toc-choosing-an-approved-motorcycle-for-novice-riders
