What is your ideal Formula 1 calendar? Well after looking at so many peoples ideal calendars, I’ve taken it upon myself to create what I believe is the objectively ideal F1 calendar. Obviously some tracks will be missing such as Kyalami and Buddh Internation Circuit but I wanted to keep things semi realistic by keeping in mind commercial value and marketability. Is this calendar ever going to happen, well let's discuss and find out.
Like and Subscribe if you want to see more Formula 1 content and potentially more racing series content

I think the alternating races is a good idea but on the other hand Monza and COTA should be permanent races just because they are great tracks and always have amazing races. For the other tracks, I would just have 2 extra rounds or something with Mugello and Imola for and extra Italian race and Indy and Vegas for another US race

I am from Germany and wouldn't love nothing more than alternating Hockenheim and Nürburgring, but I think instead of alternating for one country we could implement something that existed before: the (continent) GP. The European GP would alternate between different tracks on the European continent, so we could watch races in more different countries. Do that with every continent and e voila - you have a nice mix of tracks! ;D Also, I would appreciate an even more strict reduction of travel expenses. Picking the calendar by starting in Melbourne and from there on the shortest route from GP to GP until we arrive in Sao Paulo.

Well, alternating Nürburgring and Hockenheimring is my dream German Grand Prix, and Nürburgring GP-Strecke is one of my favorite circuit. 🇩🇪 Unfortunately, my dream calendar is one Grand Prix per country, so I disagree about the European Grand Prix.

The European GP returning would be neat, but I also believe Germany should have its own race on the calendar rather than just be there for the alternating European GP.

It's difficult to create an ideal calendar. Personally i'd include 18 races, since it's too much for teams and drivers as it is right now. However there are so many great tracks that i've decided to choose 20 of them (some of which won't come back for sure, but nevermind). *1. 🇧🇭 Bahrain* (Sakhir) *2. 🇿🇦 South Africa* (Kyalami) *3. 🇸🇲 San Marino* (Imola) *4. 🇵🇹 Portugal* (Portimao / Estoril) *5. 🇪🇦 Spain* (Montmelo / Jerez) *6. 🇲🇨 Monaco* (Montecarlo) *7. 🇨🇵 France* (Magny-Cours / Le Castellet (with gravel and grass) / Digione) *8. 🇨🇦 Canada* (Montréal) *9. 🇺🇲 USA* (Indianapolis / Austin) *10. 🇦🇹 Austria* (Spielberg) *11. 🇬🇧 Great Britain* (Silverstone / Donington / Brands Hatch) *12. 🇩🇪 Germany* (Hockenheim) *13. 🇭🇺 Hungary* (Budapest) *14. 🇧🇪 Belgium* (Spa-Francorchamps / Zolder) *15. 🇮🇹 Italy* (Monza) *16. 🇸🇬 Singapore* (Marina Bay) *17. 🇲🇾 Malaysia* (Sepang) *18. 🇦🇺 Australia* (Melbourne / Adelaide) *19. 🇯🇵 Japan* (Suzuka / Fuji) *20. 🇧🇷 Brazil* (Sao Paulo) So, since Formula 1 is apparently getting into that green eco sustainability thing, i tried to follow that path, even tho i mainly focused on the historic part. My intent is to keep the historic GPs permanently, while the most recent ones can be replaced each year with others of different countries (for example Spielberg, Buenos Aires, Yeongam or Baku), in order to not fill too much the calendar. I also read in the comments a beautiful idea about changing the European GP location each year, that'd be a really good way to alternate different circuits.

As someone on the east coast I would love to see F1 race at VIR even though it isn't grade 1. The track layout flows quite well with long straights and tight corners. Simply the best way to describe it is the east coast's version of spa.

personally, if formula 1 also had ways of pouring money into a certain circuit, i would love to see an alternating round between circuit gilles villeneuve, and circuit mont-tremblant or canadian tire motorsports park (mosport). mont-tremblant formally hosted formula 1 racing back in the 1960s-1970s and i would love to see them come back, however the track currently does not have an fia grade. but with some modifications (especially the turn 1 chicane on the gp layout), it could work. another track that could work as well with some modifications is mosport, it also formally hosted formula one in the 60s and 70s. its the most famous track in the country, and currently holds an fia grade 2 licence. but like i said, some modifications can make this track fia grade 1 viable and could host the canadian grand prix. both of these tracks are extremely fast and would challenge the drivers of formula one cars just off the g-forces alone.

@@F1-Duck1 I wanted to add the Argentine Grand Prix on a modified version of old No.15 configuration of the Buenos Aires Autodrome, last used in 1981, and that circuit in a different variation was last used in 1998. The No. 15 variant was possibly the best F1 circuit for passing ever made- it was kind of 2 circuits in one. I would have added Argentina between Brazil and Mexico. Argentina has produced IMO the greatest F1 driver ever- Juan Manuel Fangio, a 5-time champion from the 1950s who won nearly half the championship races he entered, and also Carlos Reutemann, who drove in the 70s and the early 80s and won 12 races.

You know the FIA wants money when it's considering a new Midwest US circuit in Chicago, which makes no sense since Indy is also in the Midwest, and Bangkok... Thailand is great but you're already surrounded by so many bangers lmao. Also for the US simply adding Indy and rotating it between it and Miami sounds more realistic, because with that there would be a US circuit for each major area of the US. Indy/Miami in the east coast, COTA in the center, and Vegas in the west coast. This makes it way more accessible and thus more inviting for new fans and profitable as you now have a foothold on the 3 main areas to make money for the US. Also for Miami, reminder... It's a "street circuit" when in reality it's just filling space around the depressing parking lot and being a parking lot means it could easily be tweaked for something better, it's more a cross your fingers moment and more fantasy but it alternating with Indy also means those changes can be made and it can be reworked in the off-season, and if it's delayed or taking longer wow you just have Indy for a few years although 3 US Circuits constantly locked in almost guarantees a triple header. Although if FIA realized their staff are people and not puppets we could do a double and make a Vegas finale since Vegas being in Pacific Time is 2 hours away from COTA which is in Central Time, and 3 hours away from both Indy and Miami in Eastern Time. But yeah FIA is looking to make more money in the Americas and with the US considering that Chicago circuit that really shouldn't happen, so while a triple rotating is much more fantasy even when a better thing overall, a COTA-Vegas permanence with a rotation between just-for-the-camera Miami and action-packed Indy is much more realistic and doable from a greedy perspective

thought I'd do something similar, but take in weeks available into account. looking at it we have 38 weeks between the first week starting in March and week begining in November, I feel like this is a fair max time frame since it gives the teams about 3 months of winter for building new cars and testing them. also wanted to balance quality of track with style of track, so that one style of car isn't domminant at all tracks. Home races of prominant F1 Drivers are prioritiesed for the stories they give. Baku does not get a race because it's overrated and sportswashing by a genocidal government. Round 1, Albert Park, Australia (week 1) : classic oppener of a track Round 2, Sepang, Malaysia (week 2) : Unpredictable weather on a modern classic track Round 3, Sakhir, Bahrain (week 4) : the desert has hosted many iconic battles and it'sthe original f1 track in the middle east Round 4, Istamble Park, Turkie (week 6) : F1 heads to the med for April, this track is truely the jewel in the crown of tilke's f1 adventures Round 5, Imola, San Marinio (week 8) : F1's Mediteranian tour continues in the middle of Italy, the track offers a fast technical layout loved by drivers Round 6, Catalonia, Spain (week 10) : the begining of may takes us to the Iberian peninsula for the home race of Alonso and Sianz. I do not like this track and never really have. Round 7, MONACO (week 12) : MONACO Round 8, Red Bull Ring, Austria (week 14) : short little tracks get to hide together Round 9, Nurburgring, Germany (week 15) : we've not had enough fast curves on technical tracks on this calander Round 10, Montreal, Canada (week 18) : unfortunately canada is cold Round 11, Indianapolis, USA (week 20) : put the 2 North american Races together for economy reasons. and the rest of the US races are too hot to go here Round 12, Silverstone, UK (week 24) : The Summer is Almost done, so lets finish the European leg with the only round in August in the original F1 World Championship track Round 13, Zandvoort, Netherlands (week 26) : Max's home track and the round with the largest banking in f1 Round 14, Spa, Belgium (week 27) : classic track, no comment Round 15, Monza, Italy (week 29) : it's the temple of speed Round 16, Suzuka, Japan (week 32) : another high counering speed track, something f1 deerly lacks Round 17, Cota, Americas (week 34) : some Commenters are younger than the last time an F1 calander was 17 races long, this disturbs me mildly Round 18, Mexico City, Mexico (week 36) : this track has the highest elevation of any f1 track, giving the teams a unique challenge not seen anywhere else, this track needs to be on the calander for this and this alone Round 19, Interlargos, Brazil (week 38) : Classic track, brilliant atmosphere, when's the next Brazilian getting to f1?

your suggestion is quite good but not perfect. let me complete it: additionally cut Saudi Arabia, Las Vegas, Jerez and Monaco, substitute Mexico with Singapur and we´re in business! 17 races is enough. oh and definitely no sprint races.

Great Video but you seem to confuse the FIA with FOM (Formula One Management) a bit. The FIA definitely has its part in the push for street circuits, but it's FOM that's doing most of it.

I mean your calendar is pretty good but the European part the order of some tracks really makes me tweak and,bro you can't alternate Monza,its literally Monza,to me it would have been better to just add both of monza and Mugello
@F1-Duck1
@F1-Duck1 8 күн бұрын
Yeah that’s why looking back, I’m really angry with myself for not including the European Grand Prix, I have no clue why that thought didn’t cross my mind. If I did include that, monza would be 100% permanent

The racing isn’t the best since the track prioritizes speed and flow through corners which sounds like a good thing but in this era of cars and their dirty air, the track fails at what it strives to do. If the dirty air problem gets fixed, I believe the racing will significantly improve but for now it’s got to go.

Hungarian is such a nice track, Belgium has to be the first track after the summer break. Netherlands is one of the worst tracks in my life and bring back the old layout of Australia. Is Watkins Glen also available?
