As a minecraft modder (I literally only made one mob) its actually not that hard to put them into the game, the hard part is creating them, then making the AI work but even then you could use a preset from the existing mobs

Everyone banding together for this vote in particular is really funny to me because it's not as if they're all so good they all need to be added, it's just that all of the options this year are so plain that nobody has any preference for what should be added. Everyone I've talked to that actively plays the game has felt this way, this is just a very underwhelming selection this year so they say "fuck it, put them all in". Personally I'm gonna be annoyed if the crab gets added because the crab claw tool is just so incredibly stupid.

Now if it was a game like valorant call of duty or cs I would say designing a detailed character with realistic humanoid characteristics I would've been ok with 1 year of working on a update. but its literally mobs made out of cubes. it literall pixel art. ok yeah maybe the coding part might be hard but mojang you have done this before. modders even add the mobs into game hours after its announced. some people might say the update would look like a mod. but mojang already introduced these ideas and combining it all wouldnt make it look like a mod. the point is mojang doesnt put effort into their game anymore. in 2017 they were at all time low wich caused them to work harder. now that the minecraft content on youtube has grown the game isnt gonna die anytime soon so they are relaxed asf. but if minecraft live player count drops thats when they will work hard. mojang is working only when there isnt any money going into their wallets.
