......and if a child's mental health is unfavorable to abusive parents? Then what is the process, madam? Stop with the privatization of Public schooling, it is a money maker for private schools, fact. Mental health services at the school level should be an individual choice, if a student has bad parents and asks for some help from his school, that child will be rebuffed to know their parents must give consent.

The issue is fairness. There is only so much time in a day, and unchecked speaking time means that nothing would ever get accomplished. There is a reason why the filibuster rule is unique to the senate. The unlimited speaking time rule is why filibustering exists, and there is a reason why it is limited even in the Senate to a point. If you truly want to be informed on the content of committee hearings, you want to be reading the follow up questions that are submitted and answered in writing. The true purpose of these hearings is to get the public to see the broad overall points, but the true details are what is submitted in writing.

@@rvette454 I was abused to be truthful I was scared to tell anyone in my school. My mom almost took my life. School was not a place where I could talk to anyone.

@@truthseekerforever9122 that could be, back in the day but funding for mental health in public schools should be mandatory. To think, as many do that public schools indoctrinate the students against their parents believes is arrogant and counter productive. This Congressional member is using the same questions that lead to that conclusion. Any student can have the ability to be counselled on mental health in public schools, if the dollars from the Federal government are appropriated. The Federal government has the Constitutional Right to create the dollar, fact. Weas tax payers don't pay for that dollar with taxes...... Yes, growing up in public schools 50+ years ago were not the best health services available today, those services require expenses.
