we don't use a litter box, our cat simply "goes" outside, she digs a hole, does her business in it, then fills it in

My (female) cat, would always pee on my stiff... So we did so many things, we put here litterbox without a lid, moved it around, and nothing seemed to work... Then we bought a 3rd one, she was fine! We have one in my basement, and 2 upstairs. The two upstairs ones are in my parents closet, and under the bathroom counter. Thanks for these tips! My cat doesn't pee on my stuff (that much) anymore!!

Our cat in the morning waits for Nana to clean out the box. He jumps in before she starts and does his business. He then stays around to help with the cleanup buy burying his poop before it's scooped out. Obviously Opie is not a shy cat.

If your cat or kitten is doing its bussiness on the floor try putting a litter tray there as cats tend to go in one or two places, I also recommend putting a litter tray near a plug socket so you can plug an air freashoner thingy in.

We have kitty holes in our house and its connected to a scratching pole that they climb and in those holes there is 5 bedrooms 3 bathrooms and 2 living rooms and if the house is on fire 0.0 for some weird reason there r 4 escape rooms that leading to our downhill house :) but they can't go outside they have a kitty tube

My house is basically a hallway with many twists. This makes it so the perfect place is hard to find. Easy access would be in my bedroom, but that’s nasty. Only the washroom seems right. Is that a good place?

What about installing a pet door in the door of the garage to the living room, then placing the litter box against the close wall in the garage and placing a night light so is not dark.

We broke the 1st rule. Our litter box is in the middle of the living room under the TV. If some people walk by, the cats sometimes get spooked and will run out of it, but usually they are fine with people walking by. So long as it is a clean litter box, they will use it. They also only have 1 exit from it, because it is in a container that looks like a miniature house so, if not for the litter catching rug, a guest would not be able to easily tell that it is a little box.

Mines in a laundry room, but its a pretty large room, so it's not right next to the washer and dryer. and i put a nightlight in there too cuz i love them.

My cats have never missed the litter box.. Except for Sadie, she puked but I doubt cats puke in their litter box. (Never happened at my house before) We put my cats litter boxes in the storage room since they have their food in there as well. I don't think they mind it being in the dark. Light does shine through the doors outside the room and aren't cats nocturnal? Can't they see (or sense) in the dark?

My Cat likes to pee right on the edge of the litterbox ( It's a closed one, but without the lid, so it's massive, deep, and has a lip on one side for where the opening was supposed to go ) , and she only pees on it, so it's all clumped in that area only. It's weird

we will be changing to an open litter box, not because the cars don't use it, but because one is a Mainecoon and doesn't fit very well in the box because he's such big cat and has accidentally gone outside the box

Keep it somewhere out of the way, but not somewhere where you will forget it. Otherwise your cat will pee on everything because their litterbox is full.

My cat is weird because she doesn't really mind where I put her litter box that much, and she's okay with it being covered. Of course, I make sure it's still a comfortable place for her, but she really isn't that picky.

Lol we used to have 2 cats. Spooky was 18 years old, and chill as fu$%. We found a wild kitten, bathed him, pulled over 100 fleas off of him, got him all his shots, and within a week he was domesticated and cuddly :3 anyway We thought it was so weird every time he POOPED he would bury his poop. It was so weird. Our cat spooky never once in the 18 years we had her did she bury her poop. Tigger would even WAIT a few feet away while Spooky pooped, and when she left he would go in and bury her poop xD The weirdest thing lol.

We used to sit in the living room and get the smell of cat pee or poop and have to go bury it. Never once had that problem with this guy. He is on top of it xD

Maybe it's an instinct? I think some animals bury their poop to hide traces and prevent themselves from being located by predator. Not sure if cats do that though...

Cats prefer to poop in private and bury their poop. They learn it from their mothers so it might be simply "manners" or that they do it to cover up the sent to avoid being found. Either way it's normal cat behavior. Nothing weird about it. Maybe your other cat got separated from mom too early?

Hey Amberly If only that was the single problem with how this network and its channels have been ran lately. Unfortunately, these minor uploading issues are just the tip of the iceberg. It's not that I expected much new content from this particular channel after the word about you, Alex and Catie leaving this project...but the rocky launch of "New Anyhoo" on the other hand, has been very disappointing. I'm sure the almost immediate stall of that channel was out of you guys' hands, but I'm surprised problems regarding branding and such (or whatever the issue is/was) weren't solved months ahead. Seems pretty unprofessional, but there's no point in putting the blame on anyone without knowing the details, so I'll refrain from doing that. All in all I'm glad to finally see a new upload from you guys, but the long, unannounced, and unexplained streaks of no new uploads you've underwent twice in the past few weeks is very unlike DDN channels, and they're starting to confuse and disappoint a lot of your subscribers. Oh well, fingers crossed for positive changes in the future. I'll have to admit that I have my doubts after seeing DDN pull the plug on a lot of my favourite channels and shows the past few months.

Not my point, I wonder because I'm sure cats' closest wild cousins probably urinate and defecate anywhere within their ranges and not in one spot unlike train domestic cats and just like dogs. So why do we train them to use littre boxes instead of taking them to a park like a dog pet parent would?

Cats use litterboxes because they can bury their poop. It's how they work and it's their instinct. They do it to hide sent as where a big cat, like a lion, poop and leave it to mark their sent

***** Dogs need walked, they need to go outside and they can bark loudly to annoy neighbours, so if you live in a flat a cat with litter boxes is much more ideal.
