Wisdom is when people speak truth. He only has Biblical backing for his two weakest points, and everything else is extra-biblical opinion that mostly contradicts the word of God. Not what I'd call wise or beautiful, more like pathetic and shallow. Hopefully in the last 7 years you've realized that this false teacher is full of crap and doesn't know what he's talking about.

I didn't catch when he said a man and man or woman and a woman at first. Think he was just covering his whole audience. Because as he goes on he of course mentions Adam and Eve being when a man and a woman. That's what God created it for. To be fruitful and multiply, etc.

Chapesmom... He wasn't advocating Gay marriage. He was pointing out and areas where people are often confused about what real marriage is. And that's the beauty of this video, without starting a riot by shouting "Gay Marriage Wrong!!!" He made the point very clear. Friendship, gardening, sex, procreation... You can't be fruitful and multiply in a homosexual relationship. I'll save the anatomy lesson for a different post.
@Ichigo29440
@Ichigo29440 10 жыл бұрын
Why do people like you act like that being gay and not being able to have children is the most obvious yet not stated thing? NO ONE has ever insinuated that two men/women can multiply. Also good sir, just to make you think more about marriage, what of elderly couples, or a woman/man who can't produce a child? You have the same instance of a same-sex marriage. Who are you to not "approve" of something like that. And before you say Jesus, he never uttered a word against homosexuality. And if you say the Bible, I already know in my heart and soul that being gay is not wrong. I have a great spirituality :). It just frustrates the hell out of me when people like you HAVE to pick a fight and the moment you you basically said that a major component of marriage is producing children, you picked a fight with millions of married people who have adopted or used surrogacy, or fertile treatments. Good day.

A lot of lies are powerful. You're right when you say this video is powerful because it's mislead many people into a false idea of what marriage actually is. Now giving someone a standing ovation for spreading lies against the word of God is not very commendable and I highly recommend that you repent of that, and be cautious of powerful videos made by wolves to lead you astray into complacency with sin.

Their seems to be several definitions of " MARRIAGE". Our society invents or redefines a lot of what is or what has been already defined. People have been interpreting the Bible for years n years, and will continue to do so. As this is a continuous issue so are our social references. When we as a democratic nation explore and experience different types of people, and relationships the need to define or redefine seems to be a way of labeling so that we may better accept the fact that our norms and traditions are changing as time passes.

There's a lot of pros and cons on marriage. He speaks the truth, but a lot of people don't wanna hear the truth. I believe if you find truthful love, and its what you both want, then why not share it with someone? It's already common law relationships going around, because no one wants commitment, and Marriage is a sacred commitment.

Thanks John Mark for this biblical view on what is marriage FOR. I know that out there are many people who are interested in what he is thinking of marriage between women+women / man+man or if atheist are out of being able to have succesful marriage. I just want point out, that John´s view depends on several contemplations of what he has seen in world and what is writen in the bible. So please don´t try to agrue at first. Please ask you why he is takling about "what marriage is for" / "what the purpes of marriage is" and then if you have questions, ask them with trying to understand that the most christians want to answer them honestly and in the will to help you. God bless you all :D

Marriage is between a man and a woman. The Bible is pretty clear on this. Unions between a man & a man or a woman & a woman do not constitute marriage and are “detestable” before God. (Leviticus 19:22)

God created marriage because he wants Godly offspring. Mal 2:15 Did he not make them one, with a portion of the Spirit in their union? And what was the one God seeking? Godly offspring. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and let none of you be faithless to the wife of your youth.

sam sender If you read the Bible (here, the gospels and Ephesians, Colossians, Revelation) you'll see that Jesus taught and thought of Himself as a groom. The church is described unabashedly as the bride of Christ. This is definitely NOT a sexual thing - but Christians are truly, members of Christ's bride. Marriage is part of man's expressed purpose - to be the image (the hebrew word translates to 'shadow') of God. If Jesus is marrying a group of people - And that's going to last for eternity - Our marriages are to be pictures of that.

Marriage is for two people who love each other, we are designed to have a partner. There are many types of love like infatuated love, love just for sex, love for money but true love between two people, they marry each other and each person cares for the other deeply. For eg: their financial needs, health care, physical needs, and also help each other if one falls, will help the other up, deep care for each other, and for this reason I believe two people should marry, other is a waste of time.

I’m eighteen years old and in college. I rent from my mom. I still haven’t healed from my parent’s divorce in high school, and I suppress romantic and sexual emotions out of fear. I want to desire marriage because being a human, I am built for relationship. I am created with a sex drive. But what caused my parent’s divorce was years of infidelity. My father had a sex addiction. How could I not suppress my emotions? How can I see what God has built into me as a gift? How can I stop seeing these natural, God given feelings as enemies to be fought? How can I desire a marriage when at the beginning of eternity, it’s over? Why do I believe marriage is futile? And is it possible to live a Christian life without marriage free of loneliness? My understanding of marriage is ruined by pain.
@chrisbessey358
@chrisbessey358 10 жыл бұрын
However, doesn't marriage mean so much more in the New Covenant? To me, the primary purpose of marriage is to glorify God, primarily in playing out the parable of Christ in His church as is seen in Ephesians 5:22-33. Marriage should be seen as a type of living gospel. Unsaved people should be able to see a true Christian marriage and have some semblance for what the relationship is between Christ and His bride, the church. Also, in light of 1 Corinthians 7, Marriage should be the joining together to DECLARE the gospel, both implicitly and explicitly as well. Paul would go so far as to say that if possible, remain single so that we might be fully devoted to furthering God's kingdom. Shouldn't the same be true of marriage? Shouldn't the "garden" that should be cultivated be the reaping of the harvest of souls of God's kingdom?
