Brain surgery inevitably damages healthy tissue to varying, but not insignificant degrees (during the surgical advance to the tumor mass residing within the brain). Gliosis and neuronal death is common. What strategies are employed by the surgical team to reduce chronic neuro-cognitive sequela in patients to the absolute possible minimum?

the most horrific experience I have ever had. I am a doctor myself for 35 years. I called as a new patient with a chronic spinal condition that's been getting worse. clear cut established diagnosis. they refused to book me unless I send a new MRI, have the doctor review it and decide If my condition deserve his attention. which I did all of the above. the radiologist that read the MRI even called the doctor to convey how bad the progression of my case has gotten. still no booking, no call back, nothing. I called again begging for an appointment as I couldn't sleep for 3 weeks from the pain. still no response for merely an appointment. it has been 5 days of me calling after fulfilling all their needs. and still not even giving me an appointment. if they do that to someone in urgent need let alone a "colleague" what they will do to other patients. if they made enough money not to care to take new patients, at least be honest and say we don't take new patients instead of jerking them around for days while they are in pain. they simply don't care.
