Issue is not lift irrigation, issue is no quality control, and oversized design to favor the contractor. It has become a normal thing to quote low price during bidding and then escalate the price after getting the contract.

@@SathishKumar-yw1sv just because we criticise something on facts,doesnt mean we need to provide an alternative. spending 1lakh per acre for paddy which is in oversupply right now and even in best days it fetches 40k per acre,so its outright bad decision and lack of vision or a scheme for corruption

In return favor, Polavaram project is allotted to same contractor after winning the elections by AP govt. TV9 and few other channels owned by same contractor so u dont see this news there. Even RTC was about to be privatized by Telangana but stopped to favour the same contractor to buy olectra electric buses. Open your eyes. Chief ministers of Karnataka, Tamilnadu, UP are not showing the growth of banglore, chennai and Noida as success of their states as BRS is showing hyd success as Telangana success.

How is it good project? Numbers don’t add up at all. From what I was told it takes 50000 rupees to irrigate 1 acre of land using this project. And the farmer earns 20000 rupees from this 1 acre provided there is good price in the market. So at the end of day the government goes bankrupt. Am I missing anything ?

@@davidmarkel8142 Telangana state has good sources of revenue and the state has high per capita income. So it is not any where close to bankruptcy. The question is how to deploy the excess money. Rather than giving each family 50k free kaleswaram is a better option in spite of high costs since it at least achieves 2 goals 1) increased agricultural produce and 2) increased ground water. I am not totally against giving money to people. I feel that Telangana government still has lot more money even after spending on kaleswaram and I am asking government to spend that extra money on government employees by giving them "old pension" and give jobs to unemployed. 2 sections of society who were very active during Telangana agitation. Growth in private jobs does not mean anything because they are open for everyone in India and not meant only for Telangana people. Take taxes from these migrants and gives jobs to local youth

@@dineshkp96 The only thing is that Telangana was formed for water and employment and it should be given. If need be levy more taxes on Hyderabad people. I think you are still considering olden days like some 3 decades ago scenario. Telangana villages are no more under developed. Telangana villages are in par with Andhra and TN villages. From whatever I see in news, in Telangana 1 Acer land is 50 lakhs even in interior Villages(No other Indian state can make such claims). Do you think backward areas will have such prices Extra money from Hyderabad can make things like kaleswaram and govt jobs possible. I admit kaleswaram is a financial burden and even government jobs are financial burden if you just do calculations but the point is that Telangana can afford it. So why not spend Hyderabad money on all these. The whole point of getting Telangana is to make all this benefits possible to people. I think you are not from Telangana. My comments are in line with what Telangana people want. As long as Hyderabad grows rapidly where Hyderabad is prospering then these kind of benifits are the minimum that Telangana people want. What is the point in fast growth of newly formed state if common man can't get a pie of development and some easy money When states like Punjab which are in financial distress can spend money on so many free bees, why shouldn't high revenue generating state like Telangana do the same.

@@gouthamkondapavuluru1959 how do u tax hyd PPL,only thing state can levy is road,property and liquor tax...rest all is decided by center and don't think all income of hyd comes to ts,it goes to center...ts PPL will be better only if there is equality and equal distribution of wealth which is better in Andhra as compared to ts and u won't find 1axre for 50lakhs anywhere in Andhra,my frnd from east godavari sold 1 acre for 6crores btw

Topic of discussion is the failure of construction not the state economy. Why people are taking a dam failure so easily? if it would have happened in the peak of flood easily a 1 lac crore of public property would have lost and also the lifes, would have damaged Indias reputation at international level. Just watch the pain of central minister in parliament when Andhras dam damaged during flood.
