My scariest moment was actually at my first con a couple years back, where i was cosplaying chica from fnaf. I was about 13 at the time, and puberty decided to old off on me, so i looked really young. Some guy dressed as slenderman grabbed me and started moving for an exit. I panicked and screamed, and basically everyone near us turned to see what was happening. Now i have a memory of deadpool kicking slenderman in the balls as im grabbed and lead to security by draco malfoy.

I myself do not cosplay, but I do attend conventions. Here are a few little stories: 1). At Katsucon 2016, an absolutely stunning cosplayer was dressed as Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and her beautiful dress got snagged at the bottom of an escalator. The emergency shutoff worked, but that poor girl was stuck there with a crowd gathering. She could have handled it poorly, but instead she forced a smile and remained calm. While I called hotel security to send someone to help, a very nice young male cosplayer came and eventually got her dress unstuck. It was very nice to see people come together and help each other. 2). at MagFest 2016, I saw a cosplayer dressed as some COD/Army dude, but was carrying an actual air rifle (high powered "BB"gun). Security got to him quickly, but still I do not know why someone would do something like that. 3). at AwesomeCon (D.C. area), a cosplayer was dressed as V from V for Vendetta and was handing out roses to female cosplayers. Now, the women took at as a compliment and said "Thank You" but if you actually know the comic book/movie, V gives roses to people he is about to kill. So, while these women were all flattered, in actuality that dude was telling them he was going to kill them. The women had no clue. Yep, creepy.

I was at my first con and I yelled without thinking “ITS NAGITO!” then they turned around and smiled at me. I was so embarrassed

One time while in cosplay I was talking with some other cosplayers and then just randomly one of them yells at someone behind me to back up before he calls security. I turned around only to find this guy quickly walking away from me. I asked what he had done and they said that he was trying to take a photo up my skirt. So yeah, that was probably the scariest moment for me

Oh- So I just remembered a story of when I first started cosplaying. So Like maybe three, four years ago, I was doing my first cosplay (yayy- it was Toga from mha) and I had also went to my first cosplay event, and somebody walked up to me, grabbed my knife prop, and pretended to stab themselves with it. It was very disturbing at the time, mainly because I didn't realize that they were cosplaying a suicidal character- I just finished watching the anime that they were cosplaying a character from, so now I see why they did that, but it was still unnecessary- I was only twelve at the time so it was- It was a bad experience for my first cosplay event-

Scariest things that happened to me at cons... 1.) When I was 16 I went as Yuno Gasai from “Future Diary” and I was walking up to the second floor. As a man behind me kept holding his phone down. Luckily I was just far enough from him that he didn’t actually get a picture. When I reached the top of the stairs another man dressed as Chef from “South Park” asked me if I knew the perv. Obviously I didn’t, and after he and I confronted the perv, security came and kicked the perv out. Other girls later came up to me and said they had seen that man constantly walking up and down the stairs, trying to take pictures of girls butts/upskirts. 2.) last year I went as Daenerys from “Game of Thrones” (her white dress) and while walking through the “artist alley”, my group and I got separated. While trying to find them these group of guys dressed as “L.o.t.r” characters came up asking for selfies. After taking the selfies though they started talking to me. At first small talk, but then they very quickly got into stuff like “how old are?”, “are you wearing a padded bra.”, “are you free after the con.”, and “d*mn you’re thick.” An to make things more uncomfortable they were in front of me like a semi-circle. It’s always super crowded in the shop areas, so with them standing there like that I couldn’t really move without bumping into them. Luckily a woman dressed as the new “Wonder Woman”. Saw me and wanted a picture, she had one of the guys take a picture with her phone. As were trying to pose she whispered “are you okay”. I just told her no and I got separated from my group and these guys surrounded me. We took the picture and after that she said loudly “Wow I’m hungry, us strong women have an appetite ya’ know.” It took me a second to realize what she was doing; but this complete stranger was helping me in character in order get away from those men. Sorry for how long this is but, please be safe at cons.

The scariest thing that has happen to me was while I was cosplaying Todoroki Shouto from Boku no Hero Academia. (I was with my girlfriend, she was cosplaying Izuku Midoryia) There was this Deku cosplayer following us around, and I wen to the bathroom to touch up my makeup. I saw them it the mirror, my friend was in a stall. After that we left the bathroom, and we both went to the Artist Alley. I took out my phone because we both wanted to make a TIKTOK together. Yet again, I saw the same Deku cosplayer. I was just wondering what they want, like a picture or something. So I just went up to them, I just said “Hello, I like your Izuku cosplay, do you want to take a picture with me and my friend?” and the cosplayer looked at my girlfriend, and said “Could I just take a picture with you, It would look weird with two Deku’s.”. I just said sure. So I asked my girlfriend if she could take a picture of the two of us, I wanted to hurry up I bit because we had a panel to go to. So we took a few pictures. But on maybe the second to last picture, the cosplayer just hugged me, and then kissed me on the cheek. My girlfriend said, “Hey dude, could you respect his personal space. That’s my boyfriend you just kissed.” The cosplayer gave my girlfriend a “look”, rolled their eyes, and just walk away with their phone. A little later we decided to change our cosplay to our Over Watch Junkrat and Dva. I just wanted to wash my face, so I had to get rid of the make up anyway. It scared me a bunch, I’ve never had that happen to me before.

The scariest thing that happened to me in cosplay: I’m ten, three years ago I dressed up as Young Sakura and I bumped into a future sasuke and he admitted I was adorable. He asked if I would be okay if he held me with ONE HAND! The people around us cheered for me to accept it. So I did. And I felt like I could fall any second. Many people took photo of us. I felt his hand shaking. We stood there in silence while people started to take photos. Then when we were finished, his friends in different Naruto outfits came to us. I took photos again. When I saw the photos I could see his hand veins POPPING I could literally see him and me struggling and being nervous. We both were uncomfortable.

The scariest thing that has ever happened to me is when I saw someone from my school walk by me while I was in a Grelle Sutcliff cosplay

The scariest thing to happen to me while in cosplay was at Saikoucon 2015. I was dressed as a pin up girl and had a group of at least 5 men walk up to me, tell me I was the most beautiful woman at the con and ask for pictures. Normal, right? Well after the pictures the biggest one in the group (like a huge dude both height and weight) felt the need to pick me up, bear hug me, and swing me around which in turn made me flash everyone my underwear. After that I bolted out of there, but for the next day of the con every time they saw me they chased after me, asking for selfies, and being generally creepy. When I say chased I literally mean they would seek me out quickly and physically pulled me aside. After the fourth time that day I had to literally bolt down the hallway and get out of there. Something similar happened at Zenkaicon 2016 while I was dressed ask Nikki Ann-Marie from Huniepop. Which, as everyone knows is a NSFW game. Well, this man decided to tell me his fantasies about Nikki and how my boyfriend (who was dressed as Markiplier) that he was a lucky man and that he would steal me from him.

I was at my first con and a Junko Enoshima cosplayer came up to me (I was cosplaying Makoto) and yelled, “DESPAIR” and I yelled, “HOPE” and we just had this hope vs despair battle lmao

I was cosplaying Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and someone came up to me and called me quirkless. The same person went up to my friend (Shoto Todoroki) and said,” your mom burned your face cause you ate bugs” and it wasn’t really scary but I was a little shook after 😂😂

I was cosplaying someone from Hetalia at Momocon 2013 and as I was leaving the hotel to get food, someone dressed as a rival character entered and threatened me with a knife. While it was a fake knife and they didn't mean any harm, I nearly had a panic attack from the experience, and every time I see anything related to the show, I think of that.

Last year I was cosplaying Deku and a 6 foot furry, fully decked out with armour and guns, sneaks up behind me and whispers in the thickest Scottish accent ive ever heard (I live in Scotland btw) and says "You're a good little Deku, arent you?" And I was legit frozen in place lmao (My older sister was the one that took me there and she took it as a laugh so I did too lol)

I'm actually planning to start doing cosplay and seeing some of the comments (I'm on the younger end of the scale) I'm rather alarmed. But watching this stuff and reading the comments is good because I know what kind of stuff to be aware of.

The scariest thing that happened to me was when I was in London at a meet and me and my friends were doing a photo shoot. I was in my Angel dust cosplay, which was a button up shirt and very short shorts. So we were just doing whatever and there’s were these two guys who barely spoke any English. They wanted a picture of me and one of my friends who was also in a revealing outift. We said sure and as his friend was taking the pic this guy touched my butt, the moment he did that I pushed him away, and started telling him that, that wasn’t okay, but because my friend was wearing a dress, this dudes friend goes over and takes a pic from under her skirt then when we noticed that he did we started telling him to delete it but he “didn’t know what we were saying” and he walked off. A lot of stuff happened on that day but that was one of the worst things.

The scariest thing to happen to me at a con was when I was in Karkat Vantas cosplay from homestuck. I was walking around the vendors when someone in a Dave Strider cosplay came up, wrapped an arm around me and whispered, "play along." We walked around like that for a while, until we reached a panel and they let go of me. I asked why they had grabbed me, and their response was the creepiest thing ever. Apparently, someone dressed as Gamzee had been following me around and wouldn't let me out of their sight, and the Dave noticed and started watching them. They saw the gamzee point me out to some of their friends, and had started getting closer to me and that's why they slid in. I have never been more grateful for anyone in my entire life. My friends were all in another room watching anime and my parents had left the convention.

my scariest moment so far was when my friend and I were walking around the convention, and this guy with a plush snake was following us, and asking us very morbid questions whenever we stopped to tell him to back off. he was also hitting us with that snake;;;

I ran away in 5 inch heels with a 1 inch platform. They were too drunk to chase me. After a few blocks a limo pulled up in front of me and the passenger door opened and the guy said "come on in sweet heart" I ran away again. It was not a good night. I was just 18.

the scariest thing that happened to me in cosplay was during my first cosplay four years ago i was cosplaying as wonder women and it had corset top which did show off my cleavage and a skirt which was a little short i was lining up to get something to eat at the food court of the event i was attending and this old dude next to me was staring at me the entire time and every so often his eyes would drift down to my chest what made me even more uncomfortable was when he leaned closer to me and said to me "you can save me any day sweetheart" i took a step back and he started laughing what was even more creepy was his children were with him and one of his daughter kept telling him to leave me alone

This is incredibly late but hey- So I was at a convention dressed as Toga Himiko from MHA, and a person dressed as Tomura Shigaraki asked me if the buns on my wig were de-attachable and I replied with yes because they were. Suddenly they just grabbed my buns in an attempt to but them on their wig. I quickly grabbed their hand and pushed it away. Since my dad was with me he had a talk with the cosplayers about why they shouldn't just do that without my approval.

I was cosplaying as Catra the girl in my pfp and she has a little bit of tight clothing and I never usually wear tight things I wear baggy clothing. My brother MY BROTHER touched my rear! I had long nails so I scratched him and sprinted back to my room and immediately took it off and now I never wear it around him 😭

I am a child cosplayer who cosplays with my mom. Once when I was 7 (I am 13 now) I was having a conversation with one of my adult friends while my mom went to go get something. I was wearing an outfit that was a little revealing at the time, my belly was just showing, my friend noticed that an adult man was staring at me. I also had white leggings on underneath my characters super short shorts, but I guess that didn’t matter (I also had a cape on but it was off since I got hot). When we noticed the guy we left to go somewhere else to finish our talk but the guy followed us there. This is when my my friend yelled at him to get lost before he called security. I didn’t know what it was until I learned it when I was 10. I still have nightmares of the guy popping at my door one day some nights. 😥
