Some cute ichika facts I thought of -he is allergic to sea grapes -when he’s shy he shoots strawberry jam -he’s enjoys cleaning art brushes And can store art supplies like tojis worm -his hobby is hiding under sand -and he can double as a hat❤️

Making Ichika half octopus will give him their camoflage/shapeshifting ability to turn into any fruit.

My headcanon: He's half red octopus, half green squid, and happened to have/develop white freckles/moles that make him look like a strawberry. At some point, he goes to land out of curiosity. You found him while strawberry picking, and grabbed him, thinking he was just a lumpy strawberry. When you finished, your basket was empty, save for a tiny chubby strawberry squid.

Ideas: ichika should have fruit styled friends too, like a lemon cuttlefish and a grape octopus buddy! They're definitely active on land, and maybe you can have a garden background they all hang out in, like they def aren't swimming in the open ocean. I think it would be cute if ichika's favorite food is flowers, like he's a garden fairy, but idk. If not flowers, definitely fruits and sweet stuff

I just imagine Ichi having this almost cutesy baby voice because he seems more baby-like, like a chibi. I feel like he'd also be very curious when looking at your art, like peeking over your shoulder and squeaking/squealing when the art looks super pretty. And would probably say "Emmy-chan/Emily-sama" or "Dai-Dai kun" cause he can't pronounce Daidus properly since he's a little guy or has a lisp or something. He probably also does art by using his own colorful ink as paint like how babies and puppies use their paws and hands, smacking his tentacles around the paper. I feel like he would also LOVE sweet stuff. :3

I love this for ichika's "backstory" he was just a normal squid, and then he came on Land one day and started eating just a bunch of strawberries, and that's why he is the color that he is! Kinda like how mitsuri's hair changed color from all the Sakura mochi she ate! Edit: ok wow! This is the most likes of have ever gotten on a video and on such a short amount of time too!

I think a good idea for Ichika is that he squirts different colored ink based on his emotions and not only can you paint with Ichika's ink you can even taste it! There fruit-flavored and scented inks. Yellow ink (pineapple flavored): Happy Red/Strawberry ink (strawberry flavored): Angry Blue ink (blueberry flavored): Sad Green ink (Kiwi flavored): Digust/sick Black ink (no flavor): Scared/defense mechanism or neutral Pink ink (peach flavored): Blushing

FUN FACT for spilled ink if they happen to see this: ichika technically will have two mouths cause squids have mouths under them, Squids have blue blood aswell as 9 brain one brain for each tentacle and one brain for the head Female squids will mate then lay eggs once they lay eggs they stay and guard the eggs a few days before or the day when the eggs start hatching the female squid will murder themself as squids are cannibals so to prevent the squid from killing the new baby’s they kill themself The long tentacle part of the squid is normally for bigger prey I will use giant squid for example. When giant squids are attacking they use the long tentacles to wrap around the prey such as blue whales to trap the prey so they can drag the prey so deep the water the prey will suffocate for giant squids they drag the whales and stuff just deep enough to where the whale could escape but wouldn’t make it to the surface if they did manage to escape Squids also have three hearts and glass stuff over there eyes to protect them (idk much about the eye one) For smaller squids the long tentacles will often be used to grab fish or prey and slam them into rocks or drown the prey… (I might edit this with more facts) (edit: typos)

Squid are very intelligent like most cephalopods. So I like the idea that even though he looks like he only has two brain cells, he is actually very curious and intelligent. Squids have also been document as having two distinct personality types: either very shy and cautious or more mischievous and friendly. So maybe Ichika is shy around new people but more outgoing with people he knows!

Ideas for Ichika: - he loves to steal small drawing equipment or pens and uses them to build little nests - really likes to hide and scare people even though he's not very good at it (the scaring part, not the hiding) - very good at camouflageing himself (likes to hide by attaching himself onto bright red Objects or Drawings. Sometimes this will lead to the opposite effect and one has to wonder if he's actually looking for attention) - likes to squeeze into tight places, between people, anywhere really - when he's sulking or upset, he will latch onto something (or someone) and won't let go till he's calmed down or at least got a treat out of it - scared of cats (imagine being a brightly colored, flying fish with lots of dangling appendages. Needless to say cats LOVE him) - gets into an almost drunk-like state when he's exposed to great heat/sunlight for too long (he gets dehydrated very easily) best cured with sweet juice - loves ice-cream but immediately gets a headache almost every time - seldomly flies over 2/3 metres high (he can go higher but its scares him) - gets lost easily - gets really excited by art/drawings and regularly causes problems by trying to help or paint on already finished pieces - smells fruity - starts purring when happy (not like a cat, sounds more like an underwater Version of Momo from Avatar) - a bit possessive - gets distracted/ falls asleep easily (if you need to keep him occupied sit him down in front of a Lavalamp/Metronome/Aquarium/...) - loves sweets and hates spicy food - very cute but kind of a rascal, likes to play pranks (sometimes it's hard to know if he caused trouble on purpose or was just being goofy, because he's also prone to accidents) - always wants to play fetch, but will hardly give up what you threw (don't take, just throw!) - almost every type of music gets him excited (loves loud bass-sounds) - loves big Trees and Nature - always wants to make new friends - will headbutt you if he likes you (don't worry he's very soft and squishy) Additional Note: I imagine Ichika to be adorable but also somewhat of a Rascal, so while I think that Emily should be in Charge of his Design and Artworks, Daidus definitely should be in Charge of his Character and Writing. Maybe, Ichika was still hungry after consuming all his siblings and stumbled upon a strawberry garden from where he consumed all the strawberries, causing him to turn into one himself, afterwards he realized he looked exactly like one and vowed to never touch one again, HOWEVER he realized that eating anything else make him sick (including squids and other sea creatures) which is why he was forced to only eat strawberries for the rest of his life, which wasn't quite that bad because he was still quite fond of the fruit, even after devouring a lot of them

The two longer tentacle things are the actual tentacles. The rest are arms. That's a quick way of differentiating a squid from an octopus as the former has 8 arms plus 2 tentacles while the latter (generally) only has 8 arms.

My lore idea is that Emirichu the magical girl tripped and dropped her wand, the beam landed on one of Daidus’ squids, turning it into a cute pink strawberry squid to replace her old Shojo mascot Prince, who sadly retired. Also I agree with the people, we wish for an Ichika plushie!

What if Ichika squirted different colors depending on his emotion? He could also attach himself to a person if he's scared. Maybe he smacks people with his tentacles if he's mad? He coulddd play small pranks, like spraying ink for funsies at times. Sometimes he could smack himself into walls while flying by accident (like how cats can miss jumps) and he gets embarrassed.

Another fun idea would be that Ichika serves as the creative deity that Daidus and Emily rely on for good art days. When they’re having bad art block they can blame Ichika for sleeping on the job and not providing the ink and inspiration they need. He’s also really sassy and when they have bad art days it’s because they’ve pissed him off for some reason and they must draw him a sacrificial drawing beholden to him (this could serve as a break from their current frustration where they have a cute interlude where they draw Ichika to relax before trying again).

I really liked how Emi’s drawings are so cute but I loved how dynamic Daidus’s are! Really helped show more feeling (personality?) for their mascot!

Never thought I’d have lore ideas for a strawberry squid but here I go: 1. Ichika either loves strawberries and eating them gives him his color, or hates them with a passion bc they remind him of his siblings so it’s on site. 2. I've been watching this channel religiously ever since it started but haven't commented anything yet. It's honestly so refreshing and lovely to see you two do this and really enjoy it, and especially with such a cool channel concept. I think Ichika would be a fun character to make have a secret evil side, mayhaps one that comes out when Daidus or Emily are frustrated with art or the art process or something of the sort. Most of the time he’s cute and happy and all for supplying encouragement for art! But the more Daidus or Emily struggle with a piece or get frustrated in the process he gets tired of it too and feeds off of their emotions. And maybe he acts evil in different ways depending on who is frustrated in the moment and when both are frustrated he goes super saiyan with rage and inks on their drawings!

I support Ichika eating strawberries because 1: Canon squid behaviour of eating it's own "family". 2: Squid/Octopi can change color for stealthy camo purposes, but i imagine Ichika just liking strawberries so much he likes to imitate them. 3: Explains why he's reverse strawberry color because the strawberry is upside down while he eats them. I also imagine Ichika being insanely insecure about his squidy longer tentacles because they don't fit the strawberry image he's going for, but reacts by getting angy and pouty whenever anyone points it out.

Ichika is from a strawberry farm that was washed away by a tsunami and later populated by squids where their only diet is strawberries. The squids then evolved to look like strawberries to evade carnivorous predators, however since they only eat strawberries they confuse each other with strawberries and sometime end up biting each other.

You guys need to do one of these is filming your faces because you guys have such cute interactions, and we can feel your guyses connection through the drawings so I think we would all enjoy it

To answer your question about the long bits, you were right! Those are the tentacles, while the shorter appendages are arms, like an octopus. The difference (to my knowledge) is that arms have suckers (or hooks, google it) all along the whole limb, while tentacles only have suckers on the paddle shaped ends. Like Squidward

The more I watch these videos, the more I learn valuable lessons somehow. Like I know the feeling of being upset when your art doesn’t turn out the way you thought of in your head. But seeing the both of you winging it in your drawings, as a viewer, they look like masterpieces. I don’t even see flaws, I just see them as a reflection of your character. When I read Chainsaw Man, I imagined pochi (although very small and cute) to have a deep demonic voice (since he is a demon), I'd love the idea that Ichika has a deep voice, despite his appearance. Love your videos!

I love Emily's sketch and Daidus's coloring. Emily's sketch has that clean, really cute crisp look while Daidus's coloring style has a lot depth to it, there's a lot of colors being mixed that create smth very beautiful. Ichika sounds like the artsy son of the Kraken that went to Japan because he wants to be an anime artist and really really really likes stationary stuff. Sidenote: I think it will cool of Ichika could throw ink from his tentacles, like one color for each tentacle.
