I’ve always find it odd how I liked the look of rust in industrial isolated buildings or corrugated rusted things in the middle of nature, and I thought to myself “Why do I like the look of something that’s imperfect and...well ugly?”. But now watching this video helped me understand more about why I like the look of rust.

A lot of punk rock and some other genres are recorded using very primitive techniques and that gives it a character all its own. You'll also hear this in very old recordings like from the 1930's. Some of the blues artists from that era sound kind of ghostly and eery, foreshadowing the darker music it would eventually inspire. I'd like to hear more music made with wabi sabi in mind. One might also point to the harsh wavering vocals of some older vocalists or the less expensive instruments used by some instrumentalists. Leonard Cohen's later stuff comes to mind. I found how to write wabi (侘), but I can't find how sabi (寂) is written. What strokes am I supposed to do first? During that time, the artisans and skills were in China and we know they have the history to prove it. This interpretation you've chosen is from the view of a Japanese where they did not have the wealth to possess lavish things. Zen Buddhism originated from China too. The literature that you are reading are most likely written by white folks and they always choose the easiest way to paint the Chinese accomplishments under Japan since Japan always succumb to their terms and conditions when it comes to economics. A small country has no bargaining power. This is a great video but would be better if you referenced your sources.
