Everyone who has any knowledge of the movement of Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab (may Allaah have mercy on him) and his message knows that he sought to spread the message of pure Tawheed and to warn against shirk in all its forms, such as attachment to the dead, or to trees and rocks, etc. In his ‘aqeedah (belief), he was following the way of the righteous Salaf and the Taabi’een [i.e., the earliest generations of Islam], as is indicated by his books and fatwas, and the books of his followers among his sons and grandsons and others. All of these books are in print and are in circulation among the people. His message was in accordance with the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Wahhaabism is not a new way or a new school of thought; rather it is a call to Tawheed and the revival of aspects of the religion that had been forgotten. What you have to do is to beware of those who warn you against the Wahhaabis, because they are warning you against following the truth and the early generation of this ummah. Applying the word “Wahhaabis” to those who adhere to correct belief and warning people against them is the way of the ignorant and biased. We ask Allaah to keep you safe and sound. All great Sunni Ulama agree that it is haram to build shrines over graves and to introduce innovations into the religion. So it is a little rich to say these are Wahabi teachings. TRT needs to stop this lame reporting. We need to be more mature if we want to unite the Ummah. If you want to make an academic video then invite Ulama and set up a dialogue or debate. And the only Muslims who he called were on the ways of kufir, are the ones that Allah and His Prophet (peace be upon him) describes as kufar, (i.e. the Quran and Ahadith (saheeh only) have pointed out these Muslims act in a kufir manner). next time u do such a documentary please include a bit of information about the contemporary great imams who countered ibn abdul wahabs narrative. In Indian subcontinent Ismail dehalvi was the first who went to hajj and returned back influenced with ibn abdul wahabs ideology .He translated ibn abdul wahabs" tahamai tauheed" into urdu and named it as "taqweeatul iman" whose thousands of copies were published and distributed at the expense of british Govt of India so as to create schism within muslims. Ismail dehlvi along with a hard core wahabi syed ahmed barelvi(of Rai Bareilly) were the first to bring wahabism into Indopak subcontinent. ismail influenced Qasim nanotvi who established madarsa e deoband with english aid. then the deobandi scholars like ashraf ali thanvi,Rashid Gangohi ,abdul majid daryabadi etc published blaspehmies in their books writing derogatory statements about prophet Muhammad (SalAllahu alaihi wasallam). the first man to counter wahabism in india was maulana fazl e haq khairabadi who wrote a pamphlet and gave fatwa of kufr against wahabis for disrespecting Our beloved Prophet Muhammad(SalAllahu Alaihi Wasallam).In the great uprising of 1857 against British empire in India allama fazl e haq gave a fatwa of jihad against british and actively participated in mobilzing muslims against english . after the revolt was subdued Allama was arrested, put to trial and sentenced to death at kalapani cellular jail(Andaman &Nicobar Islands). Allama was executed in jail. thereafter a sunni sufi scholarly giant of pashtun origin called as Imam Ahmed raza Barelvi( of Bareilly) took the resistance against wahabism and deobandism to the next level .He issued fatwa of kufr against deobandi elders and wahabis of his time and Ahmadiya(Mirzayi) people and published his book "Tamheed e eman" in refutation of these new sects. He demanded from deobandis to retract from disrespectful statements which they wrote in their books against Prophet Muhammad(SalAllahu Alaihi wasallam) . Deobandis neither repented not removed blasphemous material from their publications and claimed that they are true hanafis and their beliefs were in accordance with fiqah hanafia. Imam Ahmed raza barelvi himself a hanafi refuted deobandi claims and declared them apostates for having unislamic beliefs(aqaed,aqeeda) . There after he got his fatwa of kufr against deobandis and wahabis signed and authorised by 33 prominent scholars of Hijaz(Haramayn al sharifayn) which was then not in control of wahabis. Imam published the fatawa of haramayn scholars in his book " Hussam al Haramayn" . Again the deobandis claimed that Imam ahmed raza had obtained fatawa against them by tricking the scholars of Hijaz as the said blasphemous material was in urdu language and scholars of hijaz didnt know Urdu. Allthough hijazi scholars got everything cross checked before excommunicating deobandis from islam. but in Indian subcontinent deobandis started this new malicious propaganda against imam that he had done all of it by trickery. At this point imam got his fatawa authenticated by 268 prominent scholars of south asia (modern day india pakistan bangladesh) and published as "al sawrim ul hindiya ala makri shayatin al deobandia". But deobandis remained adamant and didnt repent. lateron imams movement became famous as the barelvi movement which countered wahabism(ahle hadith,ahle Quran,salafism),deobandism,qadianism(so called ahmadiya muslims)(ahmadiya are a group who believe in a false self proclaimed prophet mirza Ghulam ahmed qadiani of Punjab british india who was small time clerk on payroll of britain). deobandism lateron gave rise to many movements like jamat e islami of abul alaa maudoodi, tabligi jamat of ilyas kandhalvi, aligarh movement of sir syed ahmed khan, nadwatul ulema of syed sulaiman nadvi etc... Barelvi movement stayed apolitical and kept itself restricted to countering the new sects of wahabism,deobandism and outcastes like ahmadiya people. today after 100 years of Imam ahmed Raza barelvis passing away the majority of the sunni muslims of indopak subcontinent identify themselves with barelvi movement and dissociate from deobandism and wahabism. they continue to celebrate mawlid,visit graves of Auliya Allah while observing the rulings of sharia. Imam Ahmed raza barelvis notable scholarly works were " kanzul eman" which is urdu translation of "Holy Quran" in which imam took great care of the honour of Holy Prophet as other translators had mis translated some translations of Holy Quran into urdu which contain serious errors that disrespect Holy Prophet( SalAllahu ALahi wasallam). Imam's big collection of scholarly rulings is known as "Fatawa e razavia" and his collection of poetry in love of Prophet Muhammad(SalAllahu alaihi waSallam) is known as "hadaeq e bakshish". i finish this lengthy comment with a couplet of imam "sab se aula wa aala hamara Nabi apnay maula ka pyara humara Nabi" translation: our Prophet Muhammad(salAllahu alaihi wasallam) has the most high rank and is the best among all Prophets , He is the beloved of Allah (azzawajal).

Shaykh’s name was Muhammad, the attributive of which is Muhammadi. The word Wahhabi is the attributive derived from al-Wahhaab (the Bestower), who is Allaah, as He says “Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower [al-Wahhaab]” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:8] As al-Zajjaaj said in Ishtiqaaq Asma’-Allaah, p. 126, al-Wahhaab “is the One Who gives a great deal. This form (fa’’aal) in Arabic is indicative of something that is done to a great extent. Allaah is al-Wahhaab (the Bestower) Who gives to His slaves one after another.” But the enemies of this call have spared no effort to make false accusations concerning it. They claimed - falsely - that the Shaykh claimed to be a prophet, and that he did not respect the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) properly, and that he condemned all the ummah as kaafirs… and other fabrications and lies that were told about him. Anyone who examines these claims will realize for sure that they are all lies and fabrications. The books of the Shaykh which are widely circulated bear the greatest witness to that, If you want to know more details about this and to clarify the matter, you should read the book Da’aawa al-Manaawi’een li Da’wah al-Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab by Dr ‘Abd al-‘Azeez al-‘Abd al-Lateef, which will answer all your questions, if Allaah wills. Don't listen to the media who read from script and are well known liars go and read his books and find out.
