A co-worker set me up on a blind date with her cousin. I agreed to meet him for coffee in my town. I asked him how I would recognize him and he said he would be wearing orange jeans, green shirt, red jacket and a purple cap. I kinda gulped but said ok because I didn’t want to be shallow. He was 40 minutes late, dressed like he said but had failed to mention the grease and dirt. He walked over and sat down and smiled….OMG that smile! He had maybe 4 teeth, all brown. On top of all this he was as dumb as a sack of rocks. I drank my coffee and made an excuse to leave. He phoned me repeatedly demanding to know why I walked out. Then he started demanding to know why we wouldn’t be dating. On Monday morning his cousin asked me what had happened and when I told her she just sighed.

Friend of mine dated a magician, apparently he just never stopped doing tricks. What's this behind your ear? Handkerchiefs! A Flower! And she's just there trying to order a starter.

I get the feeling that some of these are definitely ploys to get out of the date.

I have a light one: a guy spent the first (and last) date talking in great detail about how his gramma left him her "fortune" in fancy cutlery. Apparently his gramma collected expencieve dishes, silver forks and such. WTF do i need this information for on the first date? May be he wanted to impress me? Cause he thought girls like kitchen ware THIS much? The way he only talked about how glad he is to get this or that, but not about loss, grief or his gramma's life made me nope out of the date as soon as possible. Edit: I mean, if collecting spoons was at least his hobby i'd understand. But it was all about how glad he is to finnaly get his gramma's stuff.

My biggest WTF moment in dateing is dude (not his name) wants to jump to third base even though we just met; he kept coming on to me and wouldn't take no for an answer so I push him away and firmly yet gently say I'm sorry I can't do this we are through. (Dude had a one track mind btw)

Back in the late 80's I went out with a girl who was stunningly pretty (Wendy James pretty) things were going well, dated her for about 18 months then she asked me to moved in with her...... I was flattered then in the next breath, she doesnt want me living with her as a boyfriend as she wants to get back in with her ex boyfriend. Suddenly dawns on me that she had been writing to him ALL the time I had been dating her (letters in her room). So I left and walked to bus stop which she offers to come with me!!! 3 days later she rang me saying she doesnt want anything to do with me as I ignored her at the bus stop. Anyway 36 years later I tracked her down via a P.I and I drove up to see her, we had an amazing conversation about what happened that day with both of us regretting splitting up.

Organised with a woman in her 30s to meet at the restaurant at a certain day and time..... a week and a half in advance.... For a first date ... I got there early and had a non alcohol drink waiting for her .... as i had to drive .... She turns up 45 minutes odd late ... Pissed as a parrot and she drove to the restaurant.... She sat down ...no sorry or apologies nothing .... Then treats me like i was invisible.... doesn't say a word to me..... Then within 5 minutes she flirting with the waiter and the guy at the next table .... Yer .... his wife or girlfriend was not impressed at all ..... Giving me dagger looks.... This is before we even order anything .... So this goes on for about 5 to 10 minutes .... cracking onto any guy within reach or voice range embarrassing the crap out of herself..... I have steam coming out my ears .... I get up without a word .... Pay for my drink ,go home and block her number .... I have no idea what happened to her after that .... nor did i care ... To this day i dont know why she even turned up ... I wouldnt have cared just she cancelled or rescheduled the date.... Driving pissed is bloody dangerous to you and other road users I wasted my time ,money and effort even turning up .... The whole date that lasted about 15 minutes was just one big red flag ....
