Thanks for sharing this. I’m in nursing school and I’m learning about these medications. I also know someone who suffers from absence seizures, they currently take Acetazolamide. I hope everything has improved with your daughter. Absence seizures are common in children and typically disappears by puberty.

I have not been able to meditate my daughter yet. I just can't the side effects are so bad. She is 8 years old she started when she was 5. They started off mild now they are a little longer. We just keep her safe as possible. You're not alone i know what you're going through ❤

My girl recently diagnosed wth absence she takes this med.but she had lost her appétite i am so much worry abt her

Hello. First of, I really pray and hope that your daughter is or will grow out of it. My daughter 6 years old, was diagnosed with Absence Seizures last week. The doctor prescribed her with Ethosuximide. The doc said she will need to take this for at least two years and after that they can determine whether or not stop it. I am wondering if your child has grown out of it yet. thank you so much.

Thank you. Appreciate that. My daughter is now 9 and doesn't have them as much, but they are still there. I did stop the medication because the side effects were too much, but she seemed to be doing well without it.

My cousin was haveing grandma seizers and he started smoken cannabis..... cannabis is gods meds and ever humans should have excess to cannabis flower and cannabis oils and everything cannabis!!!...❤💚❤💚❤ god bless you all i have nothing but mad love and respect for all yall i love budda like a brother✊🇺🇸❤❤❤ put it in gods hands hunny and everythings possible❤🙏❤

Have you tried Capra? That's what they gave me and it doesn't have as many side effects except for the depression and the attitude changes but as for a six year old I'm not sure if it is ok for her. Love yall so much I hope she gets better and YOU are an AMAZING MOM!!! BE STRONG MAMA SLIM KEEP THAT HEAD UP!!

Have you looked into dietary changes? You can help her a lot. It will help and support the meds. Ask her Dr.

Yes we actually started a modified keto diet. Budda makes her lunch special every morning for school. She loves it. It actually has helped she dont have them so severe sometimes she does the talking to herself and dazes off for awhile with the diet its shorter and back into reality. Its so hard sometimes tho to be strict with that diet.

@@knightowl1916 find out from her Dr what are acceptable treats and variations. You just may find something she loves. It does get boring at times(no coffee, sugar, chocolate, regular tea, soda, and so on) it drove me nuts the first few years. But there is always something wonderful and new. I know you guys can crack it.

Godbless your heart.... give her some cannabis 100% the heck with the poision drugs that thease drs wants us to feed our wonderful kids😡😡 na gove your kids cannabis oils and try that my son was haveing problems and things and we let him start smiken cannabis..... 💚💯we know that cannabis is gods medicen and we know its straight from the land and soil and natural

I see this is 2 years old now. My son is about to start this medication. Was your daughter ever able to stop taking the meds? Did she ever have any of those side effects?

My daughter is 8 and still on this medication. She takes 5ml morning and night. The only side effects she gets are a headache maybe twice a month and stomach ache once a month if that. I prefer this medication which is an old medication over the new medication they have.

@knightowlshow6508 hi. I know this is a year old but I just found out my daughter has absence seizures on Tuesday and I just received her medicine on Thurs. I just got so emotional reading over the side effects. I cried over the side effects and not the diagnosis (probably because I was 90% sure she was experiencing the absence seizures). Just wanted to reach out to see how things are going. Hope you'll see this message
