The Metro opened in 1966. 1 year prior to expo 67.

they have only one tunnel for both directions, cool :-D

Who has not ? And actually that's not cool, that's old fashioned, in case of fire and accidents both directions are blocked. With separate tunnels, one is the escape line of the other. Eurotunnel has even 3 tubes.

@@holger_p In Czechia we have only one metro - in Prague and most of tunnels are separated, you rarely see train from other direction next to you, it was build in communism so they didn't care about money, they just did it like that. I guess today they would do it as simply and cheap as possible. I am not saying time in communism was better, but some things are constructed well here only because of communism in the past. :-)

Trust me not to many people past this coarse to be a metro operator 6 weeks training basic when your done it's like having a bacherlor degree and the French wording they use isn't you average french Canadian use.

Vancouver sky train is way better than this lol. This montreal metro is nothing compared to the sky train in my city

Marissa 고 ha..... montreal metro cars are 50 yrs old, and still in service, because the whole metro system is underground. The stations have a different style from each other.

Lol I'm 2 years late but the Vancouver sky train is so loud and gets me sick everytime. Scary how it crashed into a tree once.
