Well, who knew? Who knew I still had in me the capacity to try to think of an attempt to potentially make a new fan vid?
Oh and it's Star Trek. I had never made one for Star Trek. NOW IT'S DONE, AH! This is what happens when a bunch of great characters start invading your life and you get stuck with a song. At first it was just another way to procrastinate on more serious academic matters but it eventually turned into some feels-inducing study of characters and relationships (... and into the trial of my getting acquainted with Vegas once again after years of inactivity, mostly).

I love how well this shows the difference between "going down with the ship" (George Kirk) and "ill go down for the ship" (Jim Kirk) and the different types of courage that takes. However, Jims seems much more sacrificial

The use of the quotes..! So SICK! "I dare you to do better," with the silence and the amped-up base. CHILLS! "And don't give up on that, cuz we'll sure as hell never give up on you. That is what being part of a crew is all about." My "crew"... Well, it's too long and too personal a story to tell here. The short of it is: Every time I feel I'm done--that I've no more energy or strength left to support and guide them--I come to this video and I am recharged. Thank you.

This video just makes me realise how much Star Trek means to me. I joined the fandom possibly less than 2 years ago, but considering the amount of fandoms I am in, it didn't really feel that significant to me. But now that I look back on the past, Star Trek has always been, in a way, like a beacon of hope to me, of how we humans envision our future, and of how we can find our own crew to rely upon and love in life. I'm still slowly watching TOS and TNG, trying to catch up but at the same time wishing I would never finish them. It truly means a lot to me, especially amidst this global pandemic and all the chaos. In short, this video takes my breath away every time I watch it. What it means indeed.

This Is A Gift. I have have been watching it over and over this past year and I can honestly say it still makes my heart cry, swell with hope, and beat as fast as the music itself. I love the work that you did here there is not a whole lot of work out there that can cause a similar reaction in their audience BUT THIS!
