Try golfing in Florida in August. You get exhausted riding in a golf cart from 94% beating down on you. And, because it rains daily, you can feel the moisture rising out of the course and you can relate to a lobster being steamed. I think I'll wait until late September to try it again, not as young as I used to be.

For people not used to US (like me!) up the block is probably 1500 meters walking along an avenue so large it's a like a high speed road with almost no trees at all or any kind of shade. Then you have to walk another 300 meters thru the parking lot 😂
@goldengryphon
@goldengryphon Ай бұрын
Sounds about right. City blocks are 4/mile, and large grocery stores will easily take up a couple of blocks' worth of space with parking and the store itself. "Right up the block" usually means in visual range and a couple of blocks away, so that's reasonably a .5km - 2.5 km hike without shade in 90+F and 60+ humidity.

@@valerieking5265 The planet is slowly coming out of a cooling period. There have been mini "Ice AGes" that last hundreds of years, but we go through "cool ages" that last a decade or two. The 70s were cooler than the 80s. The 90s were cooler than now. Things change, slowly, over time. Dressing for the location - using natural fibers, layers, high ceilings, drinking lots of water - are all things that help humans in hot areas adapt. When you go from AC home to AC car to AC work, you don't give yourself a chance to adapt.

I live in Aust, southern regions, where the summers are hot, but dry. That brings its own issues, the sweat evaporates almost as fast as you produce it, the salt in the sweat doesnt evaporate, but concentrates till the sweat turns into a super saturated salty acid ... with salt crystals. So when you move, you skin is simultaneously cut and then have salt enter the cuts. Affect larger people more, as more skin to skin rubbing. Can you say ouch? Currently winter here, veeeeery nice.

One good earthquake and it’ll become an island. North Carolina is an enigma because I don’t know WHERE that moisture comes from! It’s 200+ miles to the ocean at the CLOSEST point. That southern heat is no joke! It’s migrating further north too, because I now live in Ohio and damn-near can’t breathe outside anymore.

Please add content for usage for maintenance while in braids and Locs. I'm loc'd and some of these products need modifications for usage. Plus i live in a dry hard water state. Glycerin Will dry out your hair since there is no moisture in the air (at least that what a hair chemist said) So we need you expertise too. Thank you I've been share you with all my friends❤❤

SHE IS NOT EXAGGERATING. If I walk out my front door and stick one arm outside the shade of my car port roof for ten seconds, It will be a different shade of red and dripping sweat when I pull it back in. This heat is FUCKED, man.

Umh, more car - o - centric attitude is needed this day. But maybe for people from US is really something wild and impossible to move without car even for short distances. And I am writing it from Poland, where the temperature was 33-36C yesterday and I was biking (not because I love to sweat, but because I had to transport myself and when you are in move it's not bad, and if you aren't, just find some shadow to rest or go to building)
