@@Chaitanyaworld2692 While making it about rich vs people flying economy sounds good, the airline is looking at it from a business perspective. Airlines make more money per sq ft with premium economy (apparently premium economy is most profitable), business, and first class seats vs economy. If SQ didn't have suites class, there would just be more business/prem econ, and economy seats, and the economy seats wouldn't be any more comfortable.

Alright, here some insight from a constant-traveller, whose job was "international supply chain manager" for 15 years. I flew constantly, every flight above 3h duration I flew business class (company policy), and i got upgraded about 20 times to first class over the years, mainly because of my status and overbooked planes. I know most of the first classes and surely all business classes - and Singapore airlines as well as Emirates do have the most outstanding first classes, Cathay pacific is also amazing, Turkish as well. Now, do I, or, would i ever pay privately for First Class? No. Not even my tons of reward miles / loyalty points etc I use to upgrade into First Class. It is just unreasonably expensive. First class is also rarely full / used, thats simply because of the price being so high that often you could just take a private charter flight for less than the cost of a first class flight. You will barely find the average joe in first for cost reasons , but also not really the "big fishes" in first class, these people go for private charter flights, they fly alone. A private charter plane with a living room, maybe 12 chairs, some beds, etc, cost you - if you travel in a smaller group, lets say, 6 - 10 people, maybe 20% more per person than a business flight (business, not first class). So why bother flying with a plane which has another 600 people in (which you surely dont notice in first class, because you are picked up by a limo, you have a seperate lounge, seperate handling, they drive you with a limo to the plane, etc.. but, STILL...) Me personally, i have always been allowed to use all the miles n rewards for my private flights - so how do i travel in private? I travel as cheap as possible😂 i fly eco-promo, and use miles, or points, to travel - in best case - completely for free. And even then i often get upgraded to business ( i guess, again, because of my status in the airlines) , which is then a double-win. If you fly ALL the time its just a way to get from A to B. I dont mind 6, 7, or 8h economy, time literally flies by anyway. On a private 12h overnight nonstop Paris to Tokio, I MAY consider a business class ticket upgrade by using miles after buying an extreme cheap ticket first - simply because laying down is comfy for the back when its a travel over half the world. I admit, i did that already. But even for real long haul flights I compare the price of one business class ticket to the price of three economy tickets , and if it was cheaper to just buy a complete row (3 or 4 tickets) , i also did that already, and made myself comfy in the empty row 🤷‍♂️ Three promo-tickets with turkish airlines (for example) for a 6h flight add sometimes up to only 750 euro, whilst the business seat would be ca 1200 - 1500. Do the math. First class and business are nice things for sure, but, honestly - dont spend as much money on a few hours of transportation as you would spend for a cheap car. It is just unreasonable.
