I had the Standing MRI here on Long island, NY a few weeks ago. I highly recommend "going in" this MRI. I am very claustrophobic yet, this was so easy and at no time did I feel closed in.

So awesome. Hope every city has these open sitting and standing MRIs soon. Not only so much more comfortable but they provide images of what your body is experiencing when you’re upright.

I just had an "standing MRI" yesterday on Long Island, New York. I am very claustrophobic. This was the easiest procedure I ever went through. I would say to anyone who fears the tube, find yourself a standing MRI. You'll be glad you did.

1:30 we can get claustrophobic patients through it often without sedation. 1:44 and watching a tv makes the time go faster.

I was in this for 1 1/2 hours last week and found it very tolerable, I would not be able to have an MRI if not for this upright one. Thank you

They have conscious sedation if u can't find this machine

I wish we had one in Pa.😔 They found something very small on my recent test. (Yearly I go for my ovarian testing due to my mom having ovarian and then pancreatic cancer.) I've been putting this off since July because I know I struggle with MRI's. When younger, I had to go in the tube one. It was all they had. Actually followed through with the test, but it was EXTREMELY hard. I need to go because this could be very serious. I don't know how to do this and I'm scared.😢

this is the best way however my surgeon needed one that required me to lay down in the traditional tube. what a disaster. never again will I do this without being ko'd!!! NEVER

Can you do MRI on pelvis area without me laying on my back. It is hard for me to lay on my back for more than 10 minutes. I tired on both the conventional and tilted MRIs both requiring me lay on my back, and had to stop because of discomfort. Is it possible to undergo pelvis area MRI while standing or sitting? Please advise.

Sometimes better for injuries that show under weight bearing eg herniated disc

I've done this. It's horrible. The shoulder width is only 18-inches so you're squeezed as the seat tilts. Like being in an amusement ride that's breaking down.

@@kathirobbins3953 Kathi - Yes. It was so loud that when I pressed the 'panic button,' the operator didn't respond b/c she had walked away. It was just as discomforting as the tube. I have found, through these many of years of MRI tests, that the "Open MRI donuts" work best for me. They truly are minimal in their level of discomfort and someone is within eye shot. Noisy, yes, but they would communicate with me through a headset and warn me what was coming.

Oh how I wish we had this MRI here in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada!? I suffer Panic attacks from confining spaces and very bad Anxiety, this MRI would be a God Send for people like me! I recently had to have an MRI done only last month, but never got it, had such a severe attack that my blood sugars and my pulse/heart rate went very high, so needless to say it was not happening for me, never got it done and it took me 2 days to get over the experience!!

I was the same as you. I thought I was being crazy dramatic I was scared and confused. I try for the stand up mri in a few days, I pray the TV helps
