I walk past Veselka all the time. I feel it used to only really be popular on the weekends but ever since the recent news, it’s always a madhouse. No matter what time of the day it is there’s always a line. Just about everyone in New York is paying their respects to Veselka currently. Amazing food as well.

Did you watch the same video? He faces possibly losing his parents every living moment awake or sleep. He even says he doesn’t sleep well at night. What is he supposed to do, stay at home and stare at the ceiling? Comment on peoples YT or social media feed? He is tired, but he is living - being at a place where the owners and other staff care about him. He is working at a place where people come from all over to wish well for his country. I don’t know about you folks but I think that’s where I would chose to be if I were in his place right now. Yes, I have met him, and we have a common interest/love of vintage cars - yet, it’s not what we discuss when I see him today…

Donations of products are useless if none of it gets to Ukraine.

Unfortunately you are right. Also, it takes money to ship the donations and it requires a lot of coordination (customs, transport, distribution, handling). It’s better to send money to the Red Cross. Donations from Europe are easier to ship though.

The rudest personnel ever in that restaurant. Ruins all the impression. It seems like they are very eager to reproduce all the old Soviet service traditions. And they are very successful in that. Gave them 2 starts on Google. Do not recommend.
