Going on a date tonight with a deaf man, I’m so nervous..but.. only because of my short comings. Thank you for this video. I really think he is a great guy and I can’t wait to get to know him, and learn ASL. He was very up front with me about his hearing through message. He also didn’t have it in his Bio. But over the past couple of days we have basically texted each other non stop.

I work in sales so I come across a lot of people per day. Recently I met this girl who was actually gorgeous but she can’t hear which broke my heart to pieces man cause just by her eyes I could tell she was a great person who didn’t deserve it. Idk it just fucked me up and I’ve been losing sleep over it I just needed to vent somewhere.

I’m a hard of hearing person dating an older man who’s 10 years older then I am. He has adjusted to my hearing aid and me being deaf in my right ear he has made sure I can lip read when my hearing aid is out. He knows some ASL but not all

I had INTENSE speech therapy, and I also learned how to talk before I lost a majority of my hearing. I was able to gain muscle memory in my tongue, mouth and throat, so producing the "normal" or "correct" sounds and movements when I talk is something my body was semi-used to. However, I lost the ability to "self-monitor" my speech, being it is that I cannot hear myself speak. So if I were to learn a new word, it would take a significant amount of practice and concentration for me to be able to pronounce it correctly. Also this was filmed over a period of hours, there are plenty of words I had to say again and again, before the final edit. Talking takes so much work. It also takes a lot of work to appear, what most would deem, "normal".

I would like to meet a deaf woman because I am an empathetic man with any person in difficulty. Just an hour ago, I submitted a form (declaration 230) online to the ANAF (Romanian Tax Office) through which between 2% and 3.5% of the income tax paid is distributed.

Or you could text. That's what we do. It can be a bit weird in a social setting, but you'll get used to it, and it sure as hell gets all the points across.
