I try water fasting for 5 days to help me reset my gut microbiome, control my sugar cravings and improve my overall health. A water fast seems simple enough, but the healing benefits are said to be very powerful, if you can make it past the hunger. 😉

How you're not a bonified comedian I'll never know 😂 Such a good video. A really clear and honest explanation of the struggles from the journey and then also the benefits you found post fast. It's not too far away from the experience when I fast through Ramadan (but 5 days!!!). Big time respect to you! Let me know how you get on with your big reduction/cutting out sugar and processed foods, it'll be really interesting to see the experience of sustaining that way of eating (likely how we were designed to eat, before sugar and processed foods were made to taste sooo good 😂)

I thought about stand up, but I’m more of a sit down kinda guy. Hahaha! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video, and actually you’ve given me an idea… Perhaps I do a follow up video, talking about no processed sugar and no caffeine? Hey, fasting for Ramadan is a feat in and of itself and not too dissimilar!

Thank you! I’m trying to make my videos as entertaining and good as possible, so this is really great to hear! I think a lot of people only consider fasting for weight loss… That wasn’t important to me personally. BTW, I liked your Iceland video. It’s on my bucket list, how was it?!

@@AidanBelizaire yes I have been trying get healthier lately, so that really taught me something! I absolutely loved Iceland, would 100 percent recommend checking out the black sand beaches and the crazy rock/cave formations they have near the beaches!

I love the intro Aidan! That was hilarious! I found this video very informative and entertaining! One thing I do to keep myself full throughout the day is to drink 2 cups of water (16 ounces / .48 litres) before each meal because it helps with overeating. Did you record how much water you drank everyday? I try to drink 120 ounces (3.5 litres) of water per day. I'm guessing your body water percentage went up because you drank more water than usual regardless of the fasting. You got some great results man and I found it interesting how you looked at the microbiome. I'd like to study more about that myself! Anyway! Great job! I can tell you put alot of effort into this video and I think it was fantastic! Keep up the good work Aidan!

Thanks so much Jason! Glad you enjoyed. I didn't exactly track my water no, but it was 2L minimum per day for sure. You should totally research into the microbiome, it's very interesting and (in my opinion) vital to keep healthy and balanced!

Hey from California! An answer to your question about why your body retained a bit more water - and also why there’s a boost of energy after a few days: if you think of human development, food was sometimes scarce. Your body sends hunger signals out, etc like crazy for the first day or so, but when these aren’t met, you go into survival and search mode - retaining water and getting a boost of energy so that you can go seek nourishment. Food (in this scenario) is likely a journey away - this is even more reason for extra water and extra energy. Some ‘food’ for thought for you. Love your content and humor - subscribed!

You’re very welcome! I’m a teacher so I can’t help it! A video idea for you to consider - documenting learning a new skill - especially one you’ve not ever really tried. One of the things I teach is art - it’s gratifying to see my students learn new skills but they also gain confidence and creative energy. Even though art isn’t necessarily a traditional personal growth it can definitely help be a catalyst. Documenting your learning and any other effects might be interesting and lots of room for humor! Plus…if you pick art there’s lots of opportunities to make a terrible mess and wear a beret. Lol. Keep up the great work!

@@christyc6637 this is a fantastic idea! I start planning after the next few videos. My personal opinion, being a creative person, is that the arts are incredibly important. This was facsinating! I might try it to as I have a very abusive relationship towards chooclate and CRISPS!!! with the coffee, I get banging headaches for 2 days whenever I try to come off.

Dude! That's exactly what happened to me! The headaches are quite gruesome but they go after a few days (not medical advice haha). It's super important to speak to your doctor or consider just 1 or 2 days first. Better safe than sorry! Also, thanks so much for watching the video! 🙌🏽

I was vegan for 3 1/2 years actually! I stuck to it as long as I could but I'm quite intolerant to certain beans, pulses and a few fruits and vegetables - On an already restrictive diet it made things quite difficult for me. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch!
