You are definitely not a Christian from by heart but by mouth or background which does not make us Christians at all. ( No offense to be clear ) You should know that The Bible which is the living Word of GOD written on paper is "one" with GOD himself, because GOD and his Word are one. and if the Bible describes the foundation of this world. Then how can there be anything before the Bible? In other words, If GOD has no beginning nor an end. Then How can anything exist before his Word ( The Bible ) and Even after his Word? If You ask where did I get this from? Read John 1:1

I also found Marvin Wilson, Brad Young, Dr. Juan Marcos Bejarano-Gutierrez, Rabbi David Fohrman, Aleph Beta, Torah Class, Israel Bible Center and Hebrew Bible Study App to all be very illuminating and useful to understanding scripture better. The Bible is a Jewish Book after all.

Just a few items for clarification… In Bereshit the word ‘bara’ is an imperfect construction grammatically-speaking, meaning (‘when [ELOHIM] began to create’) the point being ‘the land was empty & formless and darkness was over the face[s] of the Tehom’ [‘watery abyss’]… Interestingly there are a number of ‘Babylonian’ loan-words in Genesis chapter 1 whose writing style resembles that of the ‘mad prophet’ Hezekiel c. 540 BCE (Hebrew Tehom = Aramaic Tehomah is cognate with the Babylonian goddess of Chaos (‘Tiamat’) Mosaic authorship of Torah is a subject for another thread & is refuted by internal & external evidence but that’s for a later chat… But the whole subject of ‘pre-existent material’ in Genesis 1:1-3 begs the question WHO created the Tehom & WHEN did it spring into existence ? Why would ELOHIM brood over this pre-existing Chaos material in the dark like a dove over her nest since a plain reading of the text implies that the Tehom[ah] seems to have been pre-existent BEFORE Elohim ‘brooded like a dove over the face[s] of the Tehom’ Another issue that educated persons have with Rebbes mentioning ‘antisemitism’ & ‘the holocaust’ in the same sentence as Torah is of course the racial extermination & genocidal policies of YHWH through Moses in Torah-portions such as Deuteronomy chapter 7, the middle of chapter 13 & chapter 20-all Torah which makes Adolph Hitler’s Mein Kampf read like a walk in the park : ‘Thus saith YHWH you shall utterly exterminate the Canaanite tribelets inhabiting the land that was promis’d to you as your inheritance … you shall shew NO MERCY AT ALL to any of them but you will genocide them all-men, women, children & animals leaving nothing alive that breathes under the vault of heaven … you will plough’d their domiciles into powder so they can never be re-inhabited but shall remain a ‘perpetual ruin’ …’ And as for the Torah’s genocidal stance on ‘Amalekites’ any Torah observant Jew will have to re-read those passages carefully on his own because Rebbe’s dislike being reminded of the wording of ‘the perpetual command to wipe them all out’ It seems orthodox Torah abiding persons hold a double standard in this and many other cases in their warped Weltanschauung

@@karlyoung1713 - I’m not sure I quite understand your question - I don’t think the Yisro’elite tribelets had any modern notion of self-consciousness the way we moderns argue (even our modern western science has no working definition of consciousness or ‘higher/lower states of Being’ -these things are left for Metaphysics to try and suss-out) - But the larger problem in Bereshith chapter 1:2-2:4a is that it is ‘not a scientific’ approach to ‘creation’ but is expressed in the form of a poetic hymn not unlike Canaanite-Assyrian stile New Years Fertility Ritual Festival Hymns in the Levant - this particular hymn seems to be dedicated to ‘the New Year for Fruit Trees’ in February - as Trees ‘bearing fruit with the seeds still inside them’ form the centre-piece of the Hymn - being created BEFORE the sun, the moon or the stars-which means the Yisroelites knew nothing at all of ‘photosynthesis or any modern cosmological ideas’ (echoing & Re-writing ancient Sumero-Babylonian & Egyptian hymns of creation) - and nowhere does it say there was a creator of the Tehom (‘watery chaos-abyss’) … hmm

Ashkenazi pronounce the tav as an "s", and the Alef as "o" or "oi" Sephardics don't speak like that. We say "Shemot" shabbat or shabbeth (depending which type of sephardic you are. Ashkenazi say "gut shabbes" (from german mixed with hebrew = yiddish) Gut = good in German, we (Spanish / Portuguese Sephardics) say "shabbat shalom" or "buen shabat" Some sephardic pronounce vet and bet exactly the same.

After a voice came to me a few years ago which was called One, I been on the hunt ever since to know and feel everything pertaining to Oneness. It's literally a hobby at this point to understand the greater meaning of it all. I lately have found a whole treasure trove of information about Echad. I understand it completely, yet I can't understand enough. It's like God or what I like to refer God as One is showing me things in a process because there's certain points in my life's circumstances that are received better than others. I'm not ready to receive it all at once. It's literally a process to understanding the process of information to behold. I was told that we are many of One, everything is of One, which means Oneness with One. That's what Echad means to me. It's the encompassing all and everything in this Universe. But the etherical Universe from what I gathered has many versions of One. I feel like that's the concept I gathered from being shown and told. I even heard that the holy Trinity could be in reference to Echad, but I know that it's actually a wayyy bigger picture than that. It's because we are many, and there's many physicalities in which refer to reality in our Universe. It all exists because of One's idea, then applied thought, then manifested thought to make it all possible. I was told that the past is the future and the future is the past. Which means that all is as it ever was and is going to happen. Although we have freewill choices, all leads to a pinnacle point in the end. Whether we choose option's A or B choices it's the same in the end. Or not so much an end, but a new beginning. I just wanna say that the voice that came to me, I felt that it was God. It's an experience that I have never felt before, well maybe 2 other instances before. But it feels like I'm here, but also some place else. Between two worlds when it happens. I can't help myself to notice and take note to things that are shown to me and make sense to be true via of feeling it true with all my heart's intent that it's no other than truth. I feel like there's others who have had experiences like mine, but perhaps they feel fear to speak about it. I don't fear anything because I believe in Oneness with One. It's as real as real can get. I subbed to hear, listen, and learn more teachings.

@@LogosInsula I think it might be because El is more of a generalized word for god where Elohim is more specific to the god of the Tora. With that said, my prospective is of someone who studies many mythologies and not as a theologian.

Why would 'God want a dwelling place in the lowest world'? What emotion could underlie such a desire? Typically, desires stem from emotions, and if we are indeed created in His image, this should apply to God as well. So, what emotion could have triggered this longing for a 'dwelling place in the lowest world'? Was it loneliness, sadness, or perhaps a sense of imperfection? And if that's the case, what prompted such feelings in God?"

Another question(s): If there are no names in heaven, why would God give himself a name through the scriptures? I find it interesting the four book is named Desert, yet labeled as When. I appreciate the Torah explanation, I've learned, I just like to question. I like the name Exodus, since for me it has a deeper meaning, the Lord wrestle with Israel complaints during 40 years, if I'm not mistaken, during that time many of them went back to Egypt within their hearts, they wanted to leave God more than they wanted to leave the slavery, is there a more real Exodus than leaving God from the heart?

People argue we can't have God because we have evolution, or we can't have evolution because we have God. I ask why can there not be both. It seems simple minded to not consider the observations we make with science are not a view of designed cosmology. Early scientist were very religious and attempted to understand God's design rather than disprove the existence of a god. It was only the corruptions within the church that lead to the persecution of scientists for they discovered our traditional understanding was missing much. I would argue that religion attempts to answer the why of life where science attempts to answer the how. Religion tries to provides moral truths where science provides physical truths.

@@Helicondrummer of course there could be both. The reality is though, there is lots of verifiable evidence for evolution and absolutely none for any god. Believe what you will. But it is much better to believe what’s true than what’s not. Stories can contain all sorts of messages, some amusing, some scary, some philosophical, some meaningless, some true some false by intent. Some unit humanity, some divide it. However all require the fallible human mind to make a determination on the truth and value of each story.

Call upon His name, ask in His name, bless His name, praise His name, the Kohen Gadol being the only one permitted to speak the Ineffable Name on Yom Kippur, etc.
@ysiegel
@ysiegel Жыл бұрын
Such a good question! I'm not the rabbi, but I hope it's ok if I try to answer. The soul only needs a name in order to be in a body, why? Because a name is for expression of the essence. But it is both superficial and essential at the same time- superficial because it isn't, after all, the essence, but rather just a representation. And yet it touches the essence, because in Hebrew the name is a deep description of the very essence of that which is named. For example, when you hear your name, it is much more personal and aroused your attention much more than just "hey, you!". So a name is a way for a soul to be present in the world outside of it. Likewise God exists within His creation, obviously. There is the level of God, quintessential and beyond description, and thus in a way removed from Creation, which is something finite and limited. Those aspects of God which are found within creation (and there are various aspects and levels of this) are referred to by His names. And just like the soul is related to by its name, and still it is not merely a superficial agreement of consonants and vowels but rather an actual "key" to the soul itself, so too God's manifestation, referred to by His various names, are "keys" relating to God Himself -- only instead of talking about God as His essential self, we are referring to aspects of God (or "Godliness") which are, of course, not distinct from Him but rather are all Holy as He Himself.

The Jewish belief is that we need to tame ourselves. We don't have to be perfect, but we do have to invite G-d into our hearts in order to "love your neighbor as you love yourself.". Most of us already do this with our families, without doing it perfectly, but doing pretty well most of the time, so it's not impossible to imagine a world in which all people make thisea shift inside, in our attitudes towards all others, & towards life on Earth. Many rabbis believe that this shift inside all of us is the coming of hamoshiach. The healthy heart of all religions is kindness to all others, & it's the healthy heart of humanistic atheism too, so beliefs don't matter as much as all of us making kindness & responsibility our highest priorities.

But, that is a very interesting question, is about, will God cear about what we have been doing, to the planet, as the Christians think a new planet will be constructed, but, obviously that will be something, of which is the information, of which we are all going to be aware of, eventually, the Bible says

@@brynawaldman5790 I think to believe as you do in 2023 that you live in a very sheltered environment. In my opinion the the days of Noah are rapidly desending upon us. In most industrialized countries the family has been decimated, materialism reigns and the "devil" is in charge. Judging by this country, USA, it seems more an anti America than the land I grew up in. Gone is even the knowledge of the 10 commandments or Bill of rights. In my school years they were posted in every school and government building, no one was ignorant of them. If you ask a good person today what the 10 commandments are they'll respond "I don't know 10, but I know you shouldn't murder and I do know the most important one. Love your neighbor as yourself." Satan loves to see a "vacancy". He's very adept at filling them.

with the limits of what a person is allowed access to knowledge it has its restrains and one can only understand from within those limits. lacking the fundations of stories that existed before the stories in the bible was written or existing parallel to those stories would lead to wrong conclusions and bring people into darkness. the enemy of history is the clensing of knowledge that is not accepted by a certain set of books that originally was based on older stories that later was discarded as falsehood. books that would shed light on the origin of the religious scripture were burned and destroyed trough out history. it was religion that destroyed our real history in the first place and created a very narrow narrative of the past that would not include stories that would have destroyed the teachings of the theology. do not judge others in a negative light and share peace and love to all of mankind.
