Movie announced. It will cover this arc (Japan Arc) Also, that is indeed the previous world of Cid, u will later know what happened, why they have magic now. (But it seems it got explained also by Mordred)

Majority of light novels don't get a proper adaptation, only 86,mushoku tensei, that time I got reincarnated as a slime, re zero, no game no life and now officially eminence in shadow are the best light novel anime adaptations yet

My assumption is that after Cid got isekai'd, his original "Realm" crashed into another the same way that Mordred explained happened to their world, thus causing them to develop magic, but idk anything for sure because I have not read so someone tell me if I'm off or not. Absolutely insane season finale tho sheeeeeeeesh!

You're right on the money, and let's assume that the "realm" it crashed with was the one with the insanely powerful magical beasts Mordred mentioned, and you get Akane with magic and Japan in ruins✅

SPOILER---- From what i remember of LN yeah realm collided and Magical Beasts/Demons invaded Earth most of the Earth is dead fighting them with technology did nothing exception being they managed to create artificial Knights something similar like in the other world the first one being Nishino FURTHER SPOILER AHEAD----- Her brother is i think head scientist as to why artificial they injected beasts blood into the Knights forcefully "awakening" magic into them Compared to other world Knights of the Earth are weak exception being Nishino as her relationship with her brother isn't the best so he treats her as his weapon thus injecting blood from many more beasts than other Knights which backfired and Nishino went berserk destroying the first safe heaven in Japan which she does not remember Ill stop here feel free to correct me if i misremembered something planning to re-read it again

That is the same Akane from episode one. She has been to hell and back effectively. People simply disappearing wouldn't cause this level of destruction. Keep in mind what Mordred said. Manga readers were thrown for a loop when the anime started. Akane was first introduced in volume 4 of the light novel in a flashback arc. She had yet to appear in the manga at the time and some people thought the anime invented her.

my theroy is our 'earth' is the center point the orgins of the realms as human form our place cross over to many others and things from our ledgens are visitors from others realms. ^^ at the end I think Cid happy was to be in space as he can go full force with his I am atomic and not have to hold back for once.

My Theory... Before cid dies in s1 ep1 he said he senses the magic power and then dies by truck kun. maybe with cid be teleport to the other world, magic power and beast like ragnarok breakthrough to the original world. Monsters and beasts destroy cities and people also get magical powers . my Theory is based on s1 ep3 and this ep, s2 ep12.

No, it's not another version of the earth. It's the same earth. The earth went to crap after after Cid got isekai'ed. This ending scene is anime original content, but in the canon version (light novel/manga) this rescue never took place and Akane never got kidnapped by these guys again. It's just used as a teaser for the movie that is coming out..............which is likely to be more canon. Spoiler - In the canon, Cid AND Beta go back to his earth(same) and the world has gone to crap. Akane had scientific tests on her that gave her abilities to fight the beasts that appeared in the earth. These two villains never show up again after Cid returns..

If any of you noticed that Cid doesn't use any magic fighting those two androids except slime. So my theory is that there is no magic present on earth and maybe something like AI or androids have taken over

The episode didn't show it but the youtube Kagejitsu short video on Kadokawas channel did mention it, Cid didn't return solo, Beta jumped in and got sucked in as well, but I think they went with this anime original route of Cid saving Akane again in order to make it more theatrical, but we'll have to wait and see if the movie will include "the saving of Akane" or not

I hope they inlcude beta in the japan arc just like the manga. Cause in this last episode only cid got sucked on that blackhole when beta is supposed to be there with him.
