Happy New Year!
Getting started with a simple update to the good ol' portfolio. Starting to get some genuine momentum with this, so I'm hopeful to reach and surpass some of my personal stock photography goals for the winter!

I just started yesterday, posted my first photo and got rejected. Then worked bit on keywords and tags (obviously checked your videos and tips) then posted my 2nd photo and guess what?? Approved! Thanks man 🙏🏻

have the same amount of clips on adobe stock and Shutterstock and no sale on adobe and 4 sales on shutter. Any similar experience?

im using adobe illustrator version 2020 for making illustrator files to upload in adobe stock ...will it make any problem in my sales im asking this because the same files were not able to upload in shutterstock and pond 5 it was written as this file type is not supported. but in adobe stock my illustrations were accepted

pics from mobile is usually not accepted. Its tuff to get approval of your mobile pics.

Yes it can be, I recommend shooting during the day using natural light, using a tripod, and turning off live or HDR functions on your camera.

is any of the stockplatforms you use exclusive? so that if you upload a picture on it you cant upload it to another platform too?

There is only one exclusive platform I use which is Blackbox - everything else is free to be used across multiple platforms.

Guys, I need a tip on how to make time to sit down, edit, upload and keyword? I know I have to be systematic, but uploading and keywording is killing me, any ideas? Thanks and great video sd usual 😉

Romana 22 it’s always good to start small and try one a day for a month, and when you feel you can get more then try to add a little bit. I do mine in the morning before the day starts so it’s done and I don’t have to worry about it.

Hi Olly, just subscribed and enjoying watching your videos! I recently started a youtube channel of my own sharing my earnings and experience as a stock contributor and have a different kind of question for you. Someone recently commented and pointed out that Shutterstock does not allow public distribution of our monthly earnings. "By submitting any Content to Shutterstock, you acknowledge that you will acquire certain confidential and proprietary information, including but not limited to royalty rates, royalty payments and earnings data (collectively, "Confidential Information"). You agree to keep Confidential Information confidential and to not disclose Confidential Information to any third party other than representatives, agents, attorneys, accountants, auditors and advisors with a bona fide need to know, who shall first agree to keep the terms confidential." Curious what your thoughts are on this?

I've made the mistake of violating this already, but so far it seems to be fine. In the future I will likely say something like "I made 20$ from stock photography this month, 50% of which came from Shutterstock". I think this is less explicit, and it should be less of an issue. If it becomes an issue I 'll take down the videos, but I don't think they're too severe on this topic.

im surprised the video got accepted they are really strict when it comes to video. i only have like 100 videos online out of 350(for shuttterstock that is). meaning they rejected 250 videos. i noticed the motion of your video is not that smooth and it got in anyway and even got sold. Im better in photography anyway but i want to learn more about video a bit.

I think they are more willing to forgive small technical mistakes if they think the video will sell. Since everything is curated by a human they have the ability to say yes or no depending on the circumstance. Editorial footage is often accepted even if the quality is poor.

Niche, with a short i, not ee. Check your dictionary. There's no way to get a long e sound here.

Romie Miller I think there’s a couple pronunciations based on your location and idiolect, but I checked and got /niːʃ/ from the dictionary which indicates an ee sound.

Niche with a short i is the American pronunciation, the rest of the world use the French pronunciation knee sh. It doesn’t really matter, I prefer the long e sound but my ears are accustomed to the short I now. 🤓
