我兩年前來過台北，那時候我最喜歡是大同區因為感覺最舊的地方，可以走路參觀一下老草藥店，找大排檔賣小吃 - 我想台北！

花枝招展, means somebody is (overly) nicely dressed up like a blooming flower. I would say it's a neutral word, neither negative nor positive. But it may seem a little bit frivolous so only use between friends.

Taiwanese are a lot more friendly than some people on the mainland, mainlanders however are more direct and won't beat around the bush.

it's ok, I'm Taiwanese myself born in America so I feel the struggles but you can get through it too. I'm mainly focused on understanding the vocabulary and conversational skills since its the main thing you use to communicate
