NBA 2K14 is one of my favorite sports games of all time. It also set the template for NBA 2K games for years after it.
However what makes this game so good?

The reason why 2k won’t re-open their servers is, once upon a time they used to care…basically they were extremely consumer friendly and actually made good games but now they’re money hungry and throw loot boxes and in game currency in your face 24/7. If 2k re-opened it’s old servers nobody would play the current ones. Their old games are far better than their new ones in most aspects (besides content and graphics). It’s a damn shame fr

in my opinion, 2k14 has some of the best lighting in 2k franchise.. 2k11 and 2k12 do have some of the best single player modes.

This is when 2K was actually good. The next gen 2k14 is still the best looking and most fluid 2K game.my player was fun because they actually focused on the single player experience. And people played head to head online, not to mention soundtracks were classics.

On the PS3, "Blacktop online" was where it was at. They should SPECIFICALLY bring back MyPlayer Black Top. It was quicker to get a match online

Copped it on disc a couple weeks back. The roster, the cut scenes, the music, everything is so nostalgic and just gives off this unforced vibe. There’s a VC glitch that gives u unlimited money and playing the game is the most fun I‘ve had on a sports game in ages. The shot creation and dribbling are so intuitive it‘s almost challenging to play bad. I can only recommend it, best 10 bucks I ever spent.

@@cenkergin609all finish a game on 2k14 with an F teammate grade, you’ll earn negative VC for the game, and then your VC counter will disappear so you can upgrade as much as you want haha

If you didn't have 2k14 on next gen when it was the latest. 2k you'll never understand how them graphics hit. Looking back now you might think they're average but when that first dropped it look real asf no other 2k graphics had that feel to it. Also this the the first 2k with my park and this also has a kick ass sound track only rivaled by nba2k11 in terms of basketball games.

I played 2k14 on 360 and then 2k15 on Xbox one and the difference was massive. I think 2k13-16 were the best years 2k will probably ever have. I quit after 2k16 because 17 looked trash and I recently decided to comeback to 2k23 on PC and holy shit is it a major disappointment compared to the golden age of 13-16. Hopefully 24 is next gen on PC and has a better story and park experience 😢

I just re-purchased the game after realizing that this was the last time I was happy playing NBA 2k. And It was before the shot meter. The shooting was based on feel. The only problem with this game (at the time) is that the franchise mode was only for a full season.

Hot take but please hear me out. I think one of the reasons why people mis older 2k’s is only cause you can’t play them anymore. Just like think we would have no nostalgia we would have no flashback memories after 1 week of all servers being up after a few weeks 2k will just be boring again

I don't think so. Three point shots are very random. Talk about having 90 3pt rating with no defense and excellent A+ and still bricking shots. Does anyone has an idea on how to consistently make threes? This game does not allow you to make 3 in a row while 2k15 and above could get you 10 in a row even at HOF.

2k14 is based off warming your player up as you're playing .. which means taking less difficult shots to warm up your player ..couple layups and mid ranges should have you feeling it from 3 after a minute. 2k15 is green= automatic.. which for me=boring.. being good at 2k now is a curse .. you never miss becuase its so easy to green shots.. so easy to force specific layup animations that always go in. 2k14 was the last 2k with actually challenging HOF
