Mizael vs Kaito is, without the shadow of a doubt, the best suited for analysis. It's the best built up duel, the rematch of a rematch between two incredible foil characters, the conclusion to one of the best rivalries in the entire series, and an amazing part of the final arc of zexal. It's full of back and forth, lore, big boss vs big boss monsters, great action all throughout. And of course, there's that ending... One of the best death scenes in the entire series.

@@dusan7696 It's probably a hot take, but to me Mizael and Kaito had the best rivalry in all of Yugioh. At first they just viewed each other as someone very strong they needed to defeat to prove their superiority, but as time went on, they became more. They respected, understood, and completed each other. I swear, the last moment of their duel is one of the best in yugioh. Kaito showing him genuine compassion by asking him "if we were to meet again, would you tell me what happened to you?" after admitting he was indeed the strongest dragon tamer, followed by Mizael's tears at the sight of Kaito dying was... Really powerful.

I recently just watched the Sub of VRAINS. This duel was just plain awesome. A very deserved and unexpected win. Soulburner has the backstory that Playmaker needed IMO. Revolver will always feel responsible and was willing to hand himself in solo to try to make up for it. Although, I think had Revolver used his QuadBorrel Dragons to summon Topologic Bomber Dragon, he would’ve won the duel as Salamangreat Violet Chimera’s “Double ATK” effect wouldn’t have activated dealing enough damage to win. Makes me wonder if he purposely didn’t summon Bomber Dragon to give Soulburner a chance. A duel for this series I would like to see is Kaito vs Mizael. One of the best duels of Zexal and they both dueled thrice, 2 of which got interrupted before the climatic Moon duel. Also, the only time a character dies, despite winning the life or death duel.

The craziest thing about both DNFs in the Kaito vs Mizael trilogy is that, had they been able to continue, they would have both resulted in devastating losses for Kaito because Mizael had him completely dead-to-rights both times; he only narrowly lost the moon duel despite dominating the entire time, and even then he still managed to kill the 🐐.

@@cameraredeye3115the issue with the duel is how they made Kaito. Kaito never really had a challenge until him. Mizael should of won but if they had Kaito lose and then die after the loss? That would of been one if not the saddest moment.

It is such a wasted opportunity that because most duels take place in virtual reality the show had a perfect excuse have characters get ruined during duels and still be fine in the next duel. Having Relovers helmet get damaged and completely destroyed by the end was amazing symbolism.

One duel that, even though it's good seem to be underrated is Merag and Durbe vs Vector during the Barian Onslaught arc in ZEXAL. It's obviously not the best in that series but it was so fun to watch not one but TWO barians going against another barian, and Nash seeing both of them dying while he was getting tortured was some nasty but nice work and also, Merag's (but also Durbe's) death scenes were well done so I believe this one is def an interesting duel to talk about.

I remember when this duel first aired when the dust cleared and the episode ended a friend of mine said, that was such an amazing episode and duel I don’t even remember why they were dueling in the first place, it’s kinda crazy to think that one of the most emotional hardest hitting down right roller coaster of a duel started because of some letter for playmaker. But the fact there was no real major stakes behind this duel just makes it all the more impactful, they can settle things and put to rest decades of pain, suffering and sadness once and for all. I remember when the final turn ended with no music no LP sound effects just the sound of revolvers mask shattering symbolizing his freedom all I could say after that was just “that was incredible 🥲”

Duels with proper emotional stakes driving them are always some of YGO's best. Seeing Flame one last time to give Soulburner one final push, considering you knew what was coming next was just the perfect finishing touch. Next, by far the best duel imo, the finale between Nasch vs Yuma. It's a duel that just has everything, a blurred line on who deserves to be the victor and one of the most unique finishes that still perfectly sums up the pair and all they've been through.

I never saw the subbed version of this duel so I didn't know that Revolver's speech was different but I feel like both versions of his speech shares just as much impact. In the dub for those that don't know, Revolver or Varis as he's called talks about how he doesn't try to forget the painful memories about his past as it's those memories that made him into who he is and trying to forget them leaves you with nothing. I love this quote so much and vibe with it just as much.

I loved both duels of Soulburner Vs Revolver and there was so much emotion and backstory in the second duel. Also the theme music fit so well with the duel and the most epic moment in my opinion was when Soulburner defeats Revolver and Revolver smiles while his visor shatters. The whole duel was absolutely amazing and I just loved it especially the back and forth was so good! Definitely worth 10 out of 10 in my opinion and it definitely made me cry when Soulburner talks about his parents’ deaths which was very sad. I loved this duel! Had Revolver played Topologic Bomber Dragon instead of Zeroboros, I'm pretty sure he'd have won - he may well have thrown the game as part of his "atonement." The dub changed some of the dialogue - Revolver/Varis still talks about moving forward in life (but without mentioning an afterlife), and Soulburner says the last thing he said to his parents was that he wanted lasagna for dinner (instead of getting into an argument). It doesn't take itself as seriously, but I think it still works pretty well :)

Soulburner/Revolver was gorgeous . Soulburner needed that duel in order to get closure on his past The rain when they were duelling outside the facility where the Lost Incident took place really emphasised how sombre the occasion was Soulburner was on the backfoot during the duel and the spirit of Flame willed on to continue Soulburner won in order to close the book on his past with his traumatic experience with the Lost Incident and Revolver even offered to turn himself in after losing , but was told that Soulburner/Playmaker didn’t want that Beautiful duel 😃😃😃 I didn’t understand what the f-word happened during their first duel , but I think Revovler at the time actually wanted Soulburner to get closure which is why he did nothing at all Revolver actually fought back during the second duel which I think meant Soulburner’s closure was a lot more earned 😃😃😃😃 Is it true that during Duel Links, Revolver claimed he threw the duel?🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Please, PLEASE do Yusei Vs. Jack Atlas's final duel. It's my favorite duel of any series. You have Jack atlas run the gauntlet through the members of the old team, moving forward with his goals while Yusei is stuck, not sure what he wants to do. Jack bursts forth into Yusei's garage demanding they settle their business so Jack can continue towards his future. He then takes Yusei towards the future in the duel showing Yusei that even their bonds cannot stop Jack from climbing higher and higher. They go through every single ace monster they had showing all the growth they did together, albeit on a separate path. Yusei then realizes his desire to make a better future and in a move that floored me, Yusei ends the duel with Junk Warrior alongside the mainstays of the deck, Junk Synchron, sonic chick, Speed Warrior and Quilbolt Hedgehog. He doesn't end this with Stardust imo because it symbolized more the bonds he had with the others including Jack, where Junk warrior and crew were more symbolic of his own personal beliefs and strengths. All that with the backdrop of a Speed Duel to emphasize the themes present through out.

A couple of duels I'd love for you to cover are both Atem vs. Rafael from Waking The Dragons. From the moment those duels started, Atem was put on defense, and anytime he tried to go on offense, it just wasn't enough. But each duel had its own outcome: R1: Atem is backed into a corner and forced to play the Seal of Orichalcos (which he got via Rafael's Exchange card) to avoid an immediate defeat after his ace dragon is trapped in crystal. However, despite the reversal that ensued, Rafael forces Atem to face the judgment of the former's ace monster, Guardian Eatos, causing perhaps the most shocking upset in a Yu-Gi-Oh series to date. R2: Guardian Eatos returns and is corrupted by the Orichalcos. Atem doggedly defends until he whips out Timaeus and combines it with Dark Magician, creating Amulet Dragon which destroys the corrupt Eatos. However, Guardian Dreadscythe is born from Eatos's corpse, and this thing becomes a true menace that none of Atem's monsters are able to defeat. We also get some crucial backstory regarding Rafael and how he fell to darkness, becoming Dartz's right-hand man. Ultimately Atem manages to put Dreadscythe down for good, using a combination of Claw of Hermos and Guardian Eatos (which belonged to Joey and Rafael, respectively). This causes the darkness in Rafael's heart to be banished (for now), and Rafael uses Soul Charge to bring back the very Guardian monsters that Dreadscythe had destroyed, ending the duel and allowing him to escape the Orichalcos for a while longer. I'm sure there were a few things I missed regarding the symbolism of this feud, so I'd love for you to cover it in detail when you can. 😎

Although S3 was super rushed due to behind the scenes drama, the last three duels were awesome and capped Vrains off with style. When the duel premiered, I was rooting for Revolver all the way, but thematically, it makes sense for Soulburner to get the win. While I personally enjoyed Playmakers vs Ai more (a duel I’d like you to cover), this duel is still amazing thematically, beautifully animated by Noh Gil Boh in the second half, voice acting was brilliant throughout especially Kaji Yuki as Soulburner (you can’t go wrong with the voice of Eren Yeager), memorable dialogue (looking at you Revolver), great duel action, music, the themes of overcoming trauma, letting go of the past, forgiveness, the afterlife and more. Soulburner vs Revolver R2 is YGO distilled. As a Doctor Who fan, I call it the Heaven Sent of YGO episodes.

A good video topic could be how the first three series and last three before sevens have a nice cycle and mirror Og and zexal have many similar plots but in an updated duel set. Things like the joey of the show shark staying a bully or anti hero rather than be friends and that's just the surface layer. Same with the Yuma final duel and Yugi final duel. Gx and arc v where mc becomes the villain of the story and gains spirits to join his journey. Plus duel academy 5ds and vrains probably the least connected but the secret society that has a background influence

Stanning the Dub there's an interesting contrast. In to which where the question here is "How do I apologize to the dead" to which Revolver gives a nice answer and one I'd be happy to answer differently for Soulburner as well. The Dub instead involving Lasagna😎asks "How do I forget the past/How does one live with a past causing distress?" While Revolver is obviously more mature and committed to his potential atrocities he may have committed he of course handles his fine, so the subject matter isn't one size fits all. Revolver would technically not need an answer because he happens to be his own. His personality makes him unaffected. In a way it's the opposite of a character flaw. It's almost reinforcing that someone like Revolver is objectively a better human because he seemingly feels no pain. Meanwhile Soulburner, who is still a child internally no matter what version tries to convince you otherwise doesn't have the luxury of a personality that would allow him to live a life freely beyond his past. In exchange he's more open to connections. He certainly wasn't always like this. He was a pseudo thug before joining with Yusaku after all. The flaw in *his* character makes him vulnerable to internal pain. In turn you could say Revolver's character flaw in that case is he's going to make all kinds of enemies because of what his personality would allow him to do without restraint or second thought. Besides all that though Revolver's needed answer to someone like Soulburner is another question. "Why would I want to forget my past good or bad?" If it's so bad then that still makes it important. You shouldn't want to forget the important things therefore. To try to forget your past is to try to forget and reject yourself on some Kingdom Hearts stuff. And here Soulburner still is like a lost puppy as the proof. He should theoretically still be happy outside the current Ignis stuff. Yet he goes out of his way to make more heartache for himself by making Revolver his enemy for the Lost Incident. A self sustaining cycle. He has no direction in life as someone who rejects themself as Revolver says besides going after him. Season 1's end was about realizing Revolver isn't the one to be held accountable for the Lost Incident among other things covered. That was Yusaku and Revolver's story though. Soulburner sadly wasn't present and so he still has to learn what Yusaku did. He stays quiet during that duel for a reason. Ultimately Soulburner does learn indirectly...thanks to Flame's vision. So the Sub's conclusion is to move forward living true to yourself, to make the deceased proud if you were to ever meet. The Dub's conclusion is to not reject your past good or bad because if you try to, you're *not* living true to yourself. By living as your true self past and all, you're also making the deceased proud in turn. In the end they're the same conclusion. That's to say nothing of how much I love the interaction after though. As for the duel itself I only have two gripes. 1. I wish this was *after* Yusaku's big duel making this the last Duel in the series. 2. I wish Borrelend debuted here to really make it feel like Soulburner overcame an even stronger parallel. I also really liked the editing in this video. Very amusing.

There a lot of moments in YuGiOh that can really appeal to just about every person on this planet. Soulburner v. Revolver (or Takeru v. Ryoken) takes a very mature view on how to handle traumatic experiences and losing loved ones. While it is just one view to consider, it is certainly one well worth looking at and highlights why Revolver is such a great character. This is a trend that continues through the final season as Ai is dealing with the fallout of losing all of the other Ignis.

There are two things I don’t like about this duel. 1. Salamangreat Kernel does way too much and was a super specific card to counter Revolver much like Gate of Fire was for Aoi. 2. I understand Revolver was trying to help Soulburner and that’s why he threw the duel by summoning Topologic Zeroboros instead of Topologic Bomber Dragon, but Revolver winning would’ve been a better outcome considering what was on the line. Soulburner honestly didn’t need another win especially against the main rival especially when he’s getting more on screen duels compared to the main character in the last season. Revolver could win and still have taught Soulburner a lesson, but let Yusaku duel Ai anyway to show his development. Instead we got another showing of Soulburner being the favorite.

This duel really has everything, crazy action, emotion, character development and resolution for both characters, and one of the more profound messages that we’ve ever had in a Yugioh. It’s actually incredible how much they managed to fit into a 2-part duel here. Revolver’s last turn is one of the craziest turns in any of the animes, he summons like 14-15 times and just drops boss monster after boss monster. It also helps that Noh Gil Bo is the animation director for the second part so the episode looks incredible too. In the vein of the videos in the series so far, I would think the natural next one to cover would be Yuma v. Nasch.

I remember watching this game the first time, it really hyped me up and seeying revolver accepting his defeat as if nothing, that was huge for me. One of the best duels the ygo franchice could've ever produced

This duel was great way to end the burning rage and past although I wished we got to see Revolver pull out a link 5 borrel end dragon to surprise everyone but its still a great duel. The next duel should be Yuya vs Reji Akaba round 2 as we got to see how far yuya's progress had gotten since his last duel with Reiji never reached the conclusion but it also showed how even though Reiji was on the back foot he pushed yuya further even though yuya summoning Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon and then his new Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon Reiji was one step ahead of yuya proving that yuya dueling with anger and pushing his duel beliefs to the side will never get him the victory he wants but also to show how much more he needs to evolve his dueling skills more and to grow otherwise as he is he can't save Yuzu.

I find it funny that Revolver STILL holds back on their 2nd duel. Had he actually avoided a Link Zone, summoned Autorokket in a free area? Well, Autorokket's effect will allow it to destroy Kernel l.

For the next duel, I’d love you to cover Yuma vs Nasch. I remember it being your favourite Zexal duel so that’s bound to be on the table already as a future video. I’d expect you to make fun of the many hyper specific and situational anime only cards used in that duel but that’s expected of the anime, especially when it’s Shin Yoshida writing it. LOL. Other recommendations I have are… Yugi and Kaiba vs Dartz Joey vs Valon Jaden vs Yubel Team 5DS vs Team Taiyo Jack vs Carly Yuma vs Vector Nasch vs Vector Yuya vs Jack (the second and third duels) Yuya vs Yuri Yuya and Yuto vs Serena and Ruri Playmaker vs Revolver R4 Spectre vs Lightning Yuga vs Nail Yuga vs Roa R2

Yuya vs Jack Atlas All 3 times Jack played against Yuya in Arc-V are great (excluding Z-ARC obviously), but I think the first time is especially memorable. It serves as our introduction to the return of Jack Atlas, a beloved character and one of my personal favourites, as well as arriving at a point in the series before the overall quality of the writing took a nosedive harder than, well, Yuya at the end of this duel. RDA Scarlight was portrayed perfectly, being a menacing boss monster more befitting of an “antagonistic” or at least neutral Jack, a fun nod to the ending of 5D’s and opening up several lore implications (that the series ultimately squandered but at the time the theories were a-flowin’). Internally in the narrative, it showed that Yuya was indeed not invincible despite his protagonist gimmicks, and expanded his worldview of entertainment duelling since he was, metaphorically, in a whole new pond with much bigger fish. Seeing him get absolutely humbled also demonstrates Jack’s competence and leads to us viewing him as a formidable ally later in the show (and helps Jack to stand out amongst the bloated cast of Arc-V).

Perhaps to commemorate the Earthbound Servants finally arriving to the TCG, you can discuss the awesomeness of Jack vs Sergey. I know you’ll be tempted to make Roget memes especially with how hammy and OTT his voice actor was. I mean, how can you not cry laugh at “SERGEY!!!”?

Really this duel’s stakes is more about emotion than it was about the plot. As even if Soulburner lost, Playmaker could have stepped in and force Revolver to stand down. But that wasn’t necessary. And I really liked that.

Can we get a review on the duel between yuta and geto?!?!? Geto went for the otk but yuta was able to pull off a classic 100 lp win and it was super touching given how many characters lost their souls to geto earlier in the movie... yuta being ready to throw everything away to defeat geto just because of everything he had lost was so fire and I was NOT expecting him to ritual summon that rika variant during his last turn 🙏🙏 Yuta is the best yugioh protag hands down 💪💪💪
