I first heard JID on Ed, Edd and Eddy And instantly thought he was going to make waves, then I heard working out and it confirmed my suspicions entirely. Hearing 2007 It just makes me appreciate the musical and spiritual journey JID has been on to get to this point and with it being such a beautiful song I can't help but want to thank him for bringing such beauty into this world.

I hope that you're right with The Forever Story being a part of something bigger. Tis album is my favourite of this year. I heard JID back in 2020 which also got me onto earthgang, ever since then I have been addicted to them both and yes JIDs first album and songs like edd, never definitely deserve more attention they are some of my fav songs by him. I have NEVER heard about that imagine dragons collab until I watched this video! 2 years running JID and earthgang been my fav rappers, even when kdot dropped his new album i still rather listen to any 3 of JID albums over that, also check out Spilligion by earth gang and JID + others that’s an incredible album!

He has won a lot of rappers lack….. Talent! They say an empty barrel makes the most noise, but his barrel is full to the brim, and is quite enjoyable to listen to. No autotune no same triplet flow on every song

Also, he’s down to collab with a whole mix artists, showing his versatility and getting him more recognition. He’s featured on a song called Lo Tengo by a Spanish-speaking rapper Trueno. Banger for sure!

Album of the year. For a majority of the year I thought it was going to be melt my eyez, but I think I give the edge to forever story now. Kendrick fucking dropped. Denzel dropped. Saba dropped. Logic. Black thought. Westside boogie. Joey. Smino (luv 4 rent is my favorite album of the year, but Forever story is just a better overall album). So many insanely good albums this year. 2022 will be considered as one of the best years for hip hop ever, and JID is on the top of the mountain in my opinion. That’s nuts

2007 is an amazing song and a perfect finale to TFS, but it’s definitely not the best track on the album. Kody Blu 31, Raydar, Stars, plus the storytelling on Crack Sandwich is so vivid you could taste it.

Loving the videos bro, been bingewatching recently, was gonna suggest if you like Earthgang you gotta listen to Church by Samm Henshaw with Earthgang if you havent heard it already, gotta be one of my top 5, shit slaps.

I enjoyed the video but I’d suggest a name change because it doesn’t so much feel like a dive into the mind of JID or a dive into his work and “what makes him a genius” but rather an explanation of his come up. Maybe “The Rise of JID” or something just because it does feel more like an explanation of exactly that.

The satanic performance he gave for the Usyk Fury fight was deeply concerning. All the double eclipse references with the fire / smoke /apocalypse background paired with his goat legs / hooves outfit and lyrics about making a deal with the devil. Just what the hell. If you haven't seen this I'd highly recommend giving it a watch before you praise JID.

It does suck tho that JID doesn’t sell like his peers, though. DiCaprio 2 sold like 17K first week, The Forever Story sold 30K. Compare that to someone like Lil Baby whose last album sold 216K or Gunna who sold 150K. I could go on and on. But if people really enjoy this kinda music as much as they claim to, they need to stream it more. Denzel Curry only pushed 15K this year. That sucks, man. Y’all fans need to do better to support these artists.
