Milos Teodosic is currently the starting point guard in Euroleague for Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade. He's top 5 in assists, and has one of the best basketball iQ's in the game.
In this video, I breakdown what makes him so creative and effective. You'll see the following areas of his game;
00:41 - Understanding Passing Windows
03:31 - Understanding "Tags"
05:38 - Anticipating Help Defense

Imo, Milos is the best player to study film as a point guard. Everything he does, every step he takes is precalculated and he knows every part of the game at such a high level that it amazes me. Great video mate!

Gotta add Pablo Prigioni to that list of excellent point guards to study. Then there’s De Colo, who’s really a combo guard but a masterful player to study. His awareness and basketball IQ is off the charts. Those years of De Colo and Teodosic running the backcourt for CSKA Moscow is for sure some of the best basketball I’ve seen. Studying NBA films can be very tricky just due to the sheer speed, size, physicality & athleticism… the greatest players make it look so easy that the average spectator doesn’t know how to translate the level of what they’re watching.

I'm a clippers fan and that 2 years hurt to see him just rot on our bench. It ws tough, I knew the talent he had and he was surrounded by skilled players and great shooters but Doc Rivers did not figure it out, Hopefully he goes back to the NBA again.

He got 25 mpg his first NBA season, that's awesome. His issue in the NBA was defense, he just couldn't guard on the perimeter in the NBA, so that makes it tough to get more minutes unless you're some superstar offensive guy, had little to do with Doc. He also had injury issues, but the next season it just wasn't a good situation it seemed.

He averaged 3.2 one season and 9.5 the next. Wouldn’t calling him a scoring threat. He was also plagued with injuries and was a terrible defender. 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@Mcali1984 dude why are you such a bitch? Guy played most of his career in Europe except that 2 seasons in the NBA. When you give me those averages can you give me a context? How many minutes did he average, was he injured, what was situation in the team? I never said the guy was MJ but watch some film dude before you hate. All that I said stands. He can do all of that stuff and in Europe he was unstoppable for some time. He came to the nba past his prime.

at the beginning, when you said that you will be able to explain the thought process of the viral pass to me, i was very skeptical but you've patiently built a case that was built well enough for me to be able to understand the viral pass even before you explained it, since we spent 6.5~ minutes solidifying an understanding around Teodosic's usage of 'tags'. i didn't know of 'tags' before this video this was informative and educative thank you ^_^

Not exactly the point of the video, but thanks to your channel I also noticed two actions with 45 cuts (at 6:08 and 6:18), before watching your other video I would have thought the best option for those players was always to stay in the corner and shoot from 3.

Its this simple, europeans in general, at least i assume, also play soccer, if you play soccer like steve nash, kobe, all the euro stars, you have better passing background as well as footwork... footwork for post moves and footwork for landing awkwardly without injury, playing on grassfields in cleats theres always unique footwork challenges, especially rainy games, turf is the worst.
