Iowa has such an elite defense but our offense is so bad it causes the whole team to get overlooked. It’s not a good look that we continue with Brian when we have had other offensive coordinators that have achieved success in this program.

I couldn’t have said it any better; Iowa is the biggest sleeping giant in college football. I guarantee you that they make the CFP last year even with an average offense.

Nepotism is killing you guys. It's like you don't adjust to the teams you play each week. Your OC admittedly doesnt have all the talent in the world to work with, but he's not exactly at Idaho either.

@@youngshonshon Iowa had a better defense, good special teams, and a legit offense in 2015 and choked in the conference championship game and Rose Bowl. We had a pretty good defense and Nate Stanley throwing 26 TDs a season and didn't even win division title. Would love to see the offense doing much much better but the notion that we are an All Conference QB away from going head to head with Georgia or Alabama is stretching things.

As a TCU fan, I would love that Iowa defense. I really hate the 3-3-5.

Everyone always seems to describe the Iowa defense as "disciplined" which is their polite way of saying they were able to develop NFL talent and have a good defense with mostly 2 and 3 stars. No one ever calls Georgia's defense disciplined lol.

In the SEC a well disciplined defense means none of the starters has pending felony charges.

mostly 2 and 3* players? maybe 10 years ago, iowa's defense starts 6 3*'s, 3 4*'s, a 5* and a walk-on

OC and kirks nepotism is holding us back, it pry wont happen on Parker leaving but id be happy for him if he did, he deserves effort on the offensive side and Kirks gameplan is to rely on defense, and throw for 38 yards total.

Why is the defense good? They primarily run a zone scheme, which allows for greater takeaways in the passing game and a more balanced attack for limiting huge gains. The defensive coaches also have great development in their players. Why is the offense not so good? Kirk. Brian. Nepotism. Solution: Get rid of Kirk and Brian, and bring in new philosophies for the offense while keeping the defense and special teams intact.

That was Penn State, though. Other than that one outlier to a top 10 team, they haven't given up more than 14 points in a game. As a TCU fan, I would *_love_* their defense.

They did lose. They held them to 10 pts with everything went wrong in the1st half. 50 second 3 and outs possessions but theyre offense They were burnt out in 2nd half.

@@grondhero Iowa was playing without its best reciever and starting RB and with a new QB that was playing hurt. Ranked 24th and playing a #7 ranked team at Happy Valley in front of 100k fans. So it's not like they got smoked by Northern Illinois at homecoming.

@@grondhero I was just providing some additional context to expand on your point that it was a loss to a top 10 team. Poor offensive output and a bunch of turnovers by Iowa had Penn State's offense playing on a short field the whole game. Kind of puts a whole new paint job on the fact that Iowa's defense gave up 31 points.
