If you're thinking about the 350Z and you have to haul kiddos, you should look at a Gen 1 Subaru Forester XT. They ran an Ad saying it was faster than a 350Z and could do so with 4 passengers and a dog in the car with you.

My father has a 2nd gen Odyssey (The one with the power sliding doors). Its pretty good, I have 3 brothers and we all fit inside it. Once the transmission broke and we could not use it for a while but he managed to fix it. Amazing car! We also live in Finland and its really rare here.

Been a minivan guy for 10 years now. Converted from a minitrucker after my first kid. They were cheaper than SUVs and still way more practical than current pickup trucks for day to day use. I can fit 4x8 sheets of plywood or drywall in the back of my van with the seats folded down. Can't do that with a 5.5' pickup bed and I dont want drywall getting caught in the rain on my drive home.

I ended up buying an imported JDM E51 Elgrand which has the VQ35DE 3.5L V6. Very practical, you can camp in it & great fun when the traffic light turns green 😂 And that particular lump has a bit in common with the 350z

Honestly the Odyssey is goated. I have a 3rd gen, 2008. Haul the band and our groupie & equipment? No problem. Have sex in the back? No problem, tinted windows even. Street race a Toyota Camry? No problem. Even on top of that, super comfortable ride, decent gas mileage, and super great value for the features you get. Many people overlook the value part of getting backup cameras, bluetooth, power tailgates, parking assists (on some trims of the 3rd gen), automatic sliding doors, leather heated seats, and a sunroof for less than $10k nowadays, with bulletproof reliability. Just had to express my love for the minivan.

It has a drink chiller, 3 different AC zones, heated side mirrors and auto dimming rear view, GREAT radio, etc. Parts are dirt cheap to buy new on the internet. I’m the same way but with the Honda Pilots. I’m absolutely in love with my gen 1.0. Gonna be getting a new daily after winter so the Pilot can be turned into a Homie hauler track car. Gutted interior, roll cage, 6 bucket seats, rotate in engine chassis and a build a twin turbo j35a8, crv 6spd mt swap, possibly s center diff, rear mount radiator where my spare tire would go underneath ( radiator won’t fit with engine rotated, wheels and coils, and paint and cosmetics. I’d have a long expensive road a head of me because literally no one does anything else besides lifting the Pilots. There’s not even a damn cold air intake for my gen. My 2000 odyssey had a completely flat floor with middle seats removed. My 2019 sucks with huge tracks sticking up with middle seats removed. The 2019 does have great power

I did the same with my 02 odyssey, removed the middle seats. And I found the caps to cover the metal hinges that hold the chair somehow 😂 I’m contemplating removing the back row seats bc it helps with handling characteristics.

i'm 20 years old and also a gm fanboy, but i remember when i was younger and that one top gear episode came out where rutledge brought out that souped up honda odyssey and i just remember saying to myself how cool that shit was. fast forward to me being 18 and my uncle gave my dad a 2005 honda pilot that i ended up driving mostly since my dad has a 97 4runner and i basically drive that shit like a type r on the highway. truly a night and day difference to the 4runner. my parents didn't have the money to buy me a tahoe or anything so i was just stuck with the pilot. -- I say that to say the pilot and the souped up odyssey really made me respect hondas more; more specifically the pilot and the odyssey, and i would no doubt consider buying a odyssey and souping it up as well if i had the money.
