Hi. Yours is the first video i watched on this subject. I like the way you explain thibgs fir the most part. Also your structure and video editing and production was great. I look forward to watching your other videos and learning how to program my Novation Launchpad to use with my Chromateq controller. Thanks again

A really flexible control surface is the Push II from Abilton and the Boomlights LC-8 controller. you can control LED strips or DMX PAR lights with no programming at all.

I got your email the other day, let me reply to it, I'd like to check your product out. Let's talk.

quite expensive for a basic sound to light strip controller - not even DMX! when you could buy a pixel controller for much cheaper and use easy software such as madmapper. seems oversimplified.

sorry for the question it may be very ignorant but... these MIDI controllers can be map (program) to functions as your buttons and sliders on the screen of your monitor? I like software however its slow to move thru the pages, window, menu sub options, etc. great video very direct right to the point and great info... you sound very honest and neutral. +1👍👍

Hi David, I recently bought the ls core after watching your videos. I have created around 50 backing tracks in my recording studio, and wish to use midi to trigger cue changes inside the lightshark. I wish to create the midi tracks alongside the audio inside my daw, and then play it back live from a cymatic audio utrack 24 (usb midi out). Im really grasping around for any information on how to truly set something like this up. How would you do it? Is it possible?

I highly recommend the reloop keypad. It has 16 faders, 16 Drum Pads, 16 Encoders, 80 Buttons plus a 25 Key Keyboard that you can shift between octaves. Its got everything i need to be able to control my lighting rig, but the best part is that its only a couple hundred bucks. Which makes it awesome when i take it to dusty or haze filled environments. Theyre so cheap that i dont have to worry about them getting damaged at a gig

plus 32 fader knobs(although i dont use them for lighting because i feel that using knobs for control is too hard to have the precision that i want to

Hi Henry! Do you know how to change the colors for the behringer controller to match the lights? I’m using Luminair 4 app as the main controller, xtouch as midi physical controller, it works, the only thing is that the command buttons on the xtouch light up with their own color. I’ll appreciate any help! Thanks!

I like the X-touch compact for it's relatively low price and it's motorized faders + the buttons below channels are good as flash buttons! I would wish the faders where a little less far apart (more like the Faderport 8), but it usually works fine. I do however keep having trouble with the x-touch in combination with Onyx. Somehow when I touch a fader, and then use the lower button of the same channel, which I have mapped as flash button, the fader physically drops to zero, while the software fader remains where it is. Only when I switch banks forward and back, the physical fader repositions. Has anyone found a fix for that?

DaanGroenProductions maybe it’s some sort of feedback to controller? In xtouch edit app there is a global channel setup which assigned to midi feedback messages.

@@ivan9ef Cool. Wasn't aware of that. Should dive into that sometime. Currently I am moving houses, so not much time left over, but definitely interesting.

Very Helpful thank you ;) My Personal Lighting Console is a Hog4PC & a ETC Nomad which Depending on the application or if I need 2 Consoles for Say Film work with Multiple Sets Filming at same time Ill use both consoles/pcs. When I am working big shows I typically have a Full Boar or GIO, but when working mobile shows I am looking for some Physical Faders & Encoders I can map to assist my touchscreens for control. Having the option of faders is something I would like to have but Droping 2000$-5000$ on a "ETC/Highend" Wing is frankly not worth it for a my Mobile Rig. What are your experiences with mapping on these brands? Love to pick your brain ;) Been Programing & Lighting Design since 2005

hello, very informative video, one question though, if a motorized fader controller is used (say an Xtouch or Faderport ), in midi mode will I still be able to set up automations where faders move on their own, OR it's just smoother and nicer faders ? thanks

This depends on the capabilities of the software you are connecting it with, some do and some don't.

again, great video, but this is all theory. can u give us tha same lesson with all your lights hooked up and show us how you use the midi controller and show the lights actually showing?
@LearnStageLighting2 жыл бұрын
That's not the point in this video - when I show lights and consoles together, then I get comments of "my lighting rig doesn't look like this...", etc. So you can't please everyone with every video, but I hope this video helps explain a simple concept well :)

I suppose he'd also get "my midi controller is different" but I see your point. I'd have liked that too. Maybe in his "mapping" video.....

Can these midis work with GrandMa2 Command wing on PC?
@LearnStageLighting2 жыл бұрын
Probably - as long as you have MIDI enabled on your Ma2 PC software :)
