A little info on my modded 2001 VW Jetta MK4 with the ALH Turbo Diesel Engine! And a upgraded steering wheel install!

Austin, I can't believe how much better that looks. In MD, we have not gotten any measurable snow. That car of yours is very reliable and fuel efficient. Great choice for a family car. ✌

Literally mine, manual rolling windows but electronic gas cap 😅. And boy you know I'm reaching over to roll down that passenger window so I can hear the turbo

Wish Toyota made a TDI as well. 2000 TDI Beetle 5-speed here, stock daily! Best fuel mileage was 52. Average is 48. Almost everything I own is diesel!

Love to hear more about your Jetta! Any mods to the intercooler? I hear they can collect a bit of oil in them so some people tap a drain in them or just take them out to clean

NPC #47273552 no mods, it is a bigger that stock cooler! Re route your ccv vent and you won’t have build up!

Cool video , that old steering wheel had to go 😂I really like the Jetta , here is called Bora but it is the same car , you didn't got any abs light ? I never seen a Jetta with manual windows . Small mods vdeos are cool 👍

I finally took my 02 Jetta TDI (320,000 miles on the clock) on a long trip and documented my mpg's. I took a trip from the Eugene, Or. area to visit some property in Southern Colorado... i was hoping to make it across Oregon to Idaho (400 miles exactly) on my 1st. tank of fuel.... I was at 1/2 of a tank when I got there ! I made it 695 miles on that 1st. tank. 13.5 gallons 51.48 mpg. The entire 3200 mile round trip got 51.638 mpg... Stock engine except the EGR Delete and a 5 speed manual swap from automatic. Liked/Subscribed !

did the auto to manual swap this summer. Fuel Economy with the auto was 39 compared to 50 with the manual . Auto tranny is a dog. 850 km Round trip going 130 km/hr I get 44 mpg still. It just loves the highway and has so much passing torque.

I'd like to know your vent routing for the CCV I didn't see you mention it on this or the truck. Do you ultimately dump to atmosphere? I had planned to just put a provent can in.

Nice mods! I am a diesel guy and a Cat diesel generator tech. I enjoyed your truck build even though not an import fan but enjoyed your build. You have some skills. I always thought about doing the same thing to a 2000's 4x4 ZR2 S10 or a Jeep TJ. Coty Built makes some adapters for the TJ's. I have an 2001 Beetle 5 speed manual and a 2015 Passat TDI 6 speed manual. Love the TDI's! Any other tdi mods or videos are welcomed.

i've bought 2 Alh beetles off craigslist. Both needed lots of work. The most recent one has only 74k miles on it. Her aunt gave it to her and her mechanics could never figure out why it was hard to start. I put a new timing belt on it and discovered that the timing was off by 2 teeth. They must have used the mark and pray method. Going back over the receipts i saw that the timing belt was replaced 10 years ago. If you don't do the work on yourself, you need to find a tdi guru because there are some gawd awful mechanics out there

If I change from the 4 spoke to the 3 spoke steering wheel, am I still able to use cruise control? Because 3 spoke doesnt have a single button.

Hey Austin! I've an AHF, Pierburg 6 pin MAF, I want to upgrade to the PD130 MAF (and the rest of the intake system), how can I achieve this modification? The PD130 Bosch MAF works with temp sensor, mine dosnt, do I only need to re-wire the conectors and ECU pinout? Thank you so much!!!

Do y’all think I could get 40mpg in my single cab, manual, 2wd ‘91 S10 if I swapped an ALH into it? My truck has air suspension and I shortened the frame from a longbed to a shortbed. It doesn’t weigh very much but I’ve gotten this far into my project and I still don’t know what to put under the hood. A V8 is an obvious fun choice but I sort of want to drive it a lot and I’m thinking a turbodiesel 4banger would be fun AND economical.

I could see 35-40 in a light 2wd! My jetta gets 40-45
