I believe what Miyamoto is going to be doing is helping with the movies and expanding the park as you brought up in the video. I also think he'll still give pointers to the new people when needed. As for "the day he falls over" this seems like only a problem for the smaller IP since Mario and Zelda already have whole teams looking after them and those have more of an issue of "we don't have someone who wants to make one". So hopefully he has people in mind to keep an eye on Pikmin and other small Miyamoto-related IPs.

Emio seems to be dominating the internet, some speculation on who could be developing the game could be interesting. In fact, I think you’re the only channel that could do the deep dive necessary to find the most likely candidates, as everyone I’ve seen either says “bloober team” or “not bloober team but idk exactly who”

I say it looks like KOEI doing an original horror game for Nintendo or something like Deadly Premonition 2 which was another mature horror like exclusive on Switch.

I think it could be capcom, they have experience with the horror genre and are building a strong relationship with Nintendo lately. Additionally, this trailer was released around the Japanese spooky season so I’ve been told by an internet user, and capcom is a Japanese developer

@@green.lantern olive branch? Capcom more or less ghosted Nintendo on a lot of things for a while, and recently they’ve done Nintendo two favors. Developing a whole new ip would cement the relationship

With Nintendo’s theme parks, movies and other animation projects, video games and more, they’ve somehow become more mainstream than they ever were, and Mr. Miyamoto has had more similarities with Walt Disney as time progresses!

I think he has long been more like mentor for others but largely leaving decisions to others. He was successful in giving the staff to new generations.

I dunno what's next for him, but I'm excited for a new, hopefully younger generation take over exec positions at Nintendo. As legendary & influential as he's been, there's plenty of stories regarding his decisions behind the scenes & how they changed the visions people had for their games. We even recently heard how devs had to "hide story" in certain Zelda games so Miyamoto didn't notice & make them cut it, which is a bit disappointing to hear. I'm not trying to insult him, just saying he's clearly stuck in a particular way, and it's not always the best for creativity.

I never heard of the "hiding Story" in Zelda games but I do remember someone saying that for Mario Galaxy. However, I do agree, that Miyamoto isn't much of a story guy and is super focused on gameplay. He also is really into doing something different with the games he's involved in. That's one of the Star Fox Zero that was so locked to the Wii U control (and still is since no switch port). Not to say this is a bad thing but it really shows how that kinda of mindset can be a double-edged sword. Once again no shade to Miyamoto, I respect everything he has done for Nintendo and all the games he's made.

These stories really frustrate me. They are incredibly overblown from completely innocuous interview snippets, particularly by people on KZfaq who have never worked on a large-scale creative project, and who gain from controversy. Mario Galaxy is probably the prime example. Eventually these misinterpretations become accepted truth.

Calling it "stuck" is unfair. I could say this devs are stuck in their thinking that hey have to force story into places where it doesn't belong. And mario galaxy 2's success proved most players don't care about story.

@@gogongagis3395 Metroidvania is a prime examle. It was a dumb journo reductivism inventing these patterns between SotN and Super Metroid, despite actually Sotn being more inspired by Zelda. Which is no wonder since Zelda 2 and and Castlevania 2 were basically proto-"metroidvanias", however if you'd actually ask any DEVS they might call it search-action games. Now we have this idiotic BS about some careful balance of training-wheels linearity, where 2d games have to handhold you into some funnel of "intended" sequence breaking, while plain old open world "just isn't the same thing". Because it's not like a guided tour safari making you FEEL like it's some wild adventure. Metroidvania is a tourist trap in game form.

He looks all happy and enthusiastic with the "new horizons", that holywood filth hole is horrible, I do hope that he doesn't get bad influenced and that cancer doesn't reach nintendo characters and ips.
