Why would the arrival of someone be a disappointment? Literally the job of a Messiah is to be a revolutionary and to help good people step away from all the corruption.

@@rakheldandy5339 Sister, do not waste your good prayers on something broken that cannot be fixed. Pray for Messiah Ben-David instead, for he is probably somewhere out there trying to save Humanity. And pray for the hostages who are now in great pain. I pray for them every day, even though I am not religious. There is a collective Holy Spirit in heaven. Faith can create miracles. This explanation comes to give a hadracha for one to understand the Moshiach klali or the collective nature of moshiach. Which was a major focus of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in bringing to the world mamash bgashmi a d bruchni. However there is still what to understand in this question in regards to the individual. I would say most who ask this question ask from that perspective. Meaning once one takes away chisoron in essence you are as well removing individual purpose leaving a world which does not need specific individuals. Although it may be that al pi Chabad it would make sence to say that the ultimate redemption is bitul of individual bechlal hadavar there may still be room al pi other hadrachas bal Shem to maintain the self in such a world… one can look at the Ishbitzer in Mei Hashiloach on Zechiras Amalek who teaches a derech… Lchaim lchaim Lekovod Yom shekuloh shabbos

@d12dodecahedron I do think that this moshiach, of which you speak, is simply a figurehead. A real moshiach or ubermensch would tell you to kindly mind your own business & not worry about who he marries or how many.

@d12dodecahedron Not a superman, but overman. This is why, in short, there are allegedly so many candidates over time but only one can qualify (Isaiah 53 treatment, David vs Goliath, similar back story). Again, your concept is just a figurehead.

You're missing the point. Of all people who ever will have lived, wouldn't Messiah prove to be the most sincerely devoted to love, truth, and righteousness more than any other soul? Isn't that why God loves him? Isn't that why we should love him? And how does someone prove so devoted to God? Well, of course, he continues to teach his truth and do his good deeds even in spite of persecution, torture, and death. He will suffer for the cause of love and prove sincerely devoted to righteousness, even unto death. And so God will raise him from the dead that we all can repent and be glad that God cares about what is right.

And the point is that God will Judge the world. And that can only be justified if it can be shown that it is possible for a person to please God perfectly. Who deserves to "go to heaven"? It is one who has proven to be completely devoted to the truth of God without hesitation. And the rest of us will be judged by that standard. Do we at least recognize and honor sincere devotion to God when we see it? Or don't we care about righteousness at all. One is to know life; the other is to know death.

Surely, people will ask, "How does this "Messiah" deserve to be so honored? What has he ever done to prove his worthiness? And the only qualification will be that he has proven so completely devoted to love and righteousness that he suffered the worst torture imaginable for the sake of all, just for the chance to teach the truth and to heal us from disease.

Just because something has been typical in the past does not mean it will always be typical. Just as I cannot say with certainty that someone will save this world, you cannot say with certainty that someone will not.

I also believe that each of us should do what we can to improve things in this world, and that each individual has something of value they can bring to the table. And, I also don't think we should burden God or other enlightened beings with tasks we can handle ourselves. And, I do believe there is much we can handle ourselves. In fact, I believe we can achieve world peace through discourse, understanding each other, and negotiating so that while maybe not everyone can immediately get everything they want, everyone can get enough of what they want to move forward peacefully. At the same time, I accept the possibility that God may bestow blessings upon us that we do not expect, such as someone to help to facilitate the necessary negotiation.

Why do people look for the Messiah? Any chance the Messiah is trying to reach out to humanity? How will we know who he is? There are many charlatans who claim to be the messiah. How can we be sure that he is the true Messiah? Will it be his wisdom? will he speak in parables? 😧
