Man I’m struggling with the same exact points you stated. Also for me it seems like after the first hour of play literally everything stopped spawning except rabbits. I don’t know what it is. Fourth day in (maybe 5 hours so far) hopefully that issue gets resolved because I’m just pointlessly roaming around the whole map and not seeing a damn thing anywhere lol

E I the time of day affects what animals are active. Your best bet is hunting early morning and late afternoon

One thing I noticed is once u shoot it, it’ll bleed out eventually. I just spring after the tracks until I come up on the carcass instead of crouching thinking I’ll spook him because he is alive.

Same here mate, I just tracked down a moose for 2.4km. Frustration hit frequently when I was tracking but I felt so happy when I finally found my trophy.

I just started as well. Id advise you to buy the weapon pack 2 DLC for the Mohsin. Well placed shots with it seem to take down everything I've seen so far and make it much easier to get started.

@@julianchippendale7078 weapon pack 1 is way better. You get great 22LR for birds (and with goose, ducks and new maps dlcs there are pretty nice targets for it). Ultra-stable crossbow with 100m shot range and finally tradtional bow - very quiet and good for short range, but hard to aim.

It’s your aiming, also once you have a better understanding of where to shoot you’ll get better

Same here ,but it gets easier after a few day’s ,I’ve been playing for two days ,went from nothing to bagging deer and elks quite regularly

Make sure you use the right weapon for the right animal and shoot for there vitals (lungs,heart, brain) double lung shots are the easiest. They made it where spine shots no longer drop animals unless you hit spinal cord. It definitely is a little harder but just make sure your using the right equipment

My first bear kill was a spine shot. I was aiming for the brain stem while it was standing on 2 legs and it severed the spine right under it

I don’t really wanna restart, I just wish we had more to do, once you hit like level 35 the game gets kinda boring cause there’s nothing towards but thank you I’ll keep it up!

With it being an open world concept game, you are only limited by your imagination. We do timed hunts in my house and whoever has the most kills wins. That is one of many variations I use to keep it interesting.

That happens to me too, but then sometimes I'll find entire herds of deer around the next corner. I'd keep a note of need zones and their times, then work your way through the map via each need zone.

@@ThaTruFily I’m seeing a lot of comments responding to complains of the game by saying “get the DLC” and it kinda annoys me. Feel like your starter guns don’t do damage to the animal? Get this DLC at the beginning of the game. Can’t find any animals? Get this DLC then.

Yea the game is definitely a big waste of money. Had a doe 10 yards from me and I shot it right through both lungs, I tracked it a few hundred yards, shot it again point blank in the neck. Both times it said I didn’t hit vitals and it never died. Such a joke.

Get polymer tips and try getting double lung shots on a broadside animal its generally a foolproof approach at medium range.

You start out with the .243, you can go to the cache at the outpost and access the store to buy .243 soft point ammo which is free ammo.

Yeah I feel you man, I’ve learned that the best thing to do is to take your time and wait for the best shot and make sure your gonna get a broad side shot. If you don’t have a good shot then just wait, it’s better to get a clean kill then wound it and never be able to find it and get pissed

Exactly I sit in a blind for an hour and don’t see a thing

I'm about 20 hours into the game and it was extremely frustrating for the first 15 but I've learned some useful info in that time. The most animals will be at the "need zones" (drinking, eating, and resting). On the map, need zones are typically found mostly around the large lakes. Many are in other places, but the lakes are the easiest place to find drinking spots. Spotting animals with your binoculars around the lakes is a good way to discover new need zones. Set up at a good distance from where you see the animals, be quiet and hide in some trees or bushes and get ready to snipe. Following the roads until you find tracks is helpful too. Many times the tracks won't lead you directly to an animal, but they can lead you to need zones as well.

I say just kill every thing you see just to make money and get Xp

Played the game for 2 days now. I lay in the bushes once in awhile. Been run over by a Blacktail and 3 times by a bear I wasn't even hunting lol. Combo of both for me. I run around and also use the stands in the game at dawn and dusk.

@@dave131 I got slapped by a whitetail when I was on my ATV! It's not just the predators, every animal in Leyton has kicked my a$$ except the mallards!

Same for me, I just don't get it, I find no animals despite walking around for several hours. Is my game broken??? I have had a few kills though, but not like in these videos, seeing several animals, all over. It's really hard to spot one single animal in my game. All maps the same, with slight variation I guess. But in a week or so that I've had this, I've probably made 6 kills altogether.

Never use softpoint bullets. Always use a polymer tip and aim for vital spots for a one-hit-kill shot. You can 1-shot a deer with a polymer tip .243 in their lung just fine at 100m distance. You can even 1-shot a moose with a polymer tip .270 in a lung, though it will run away for a few hundred meters before going down because .270 is quite underpower for class 8 animals.

I did hope you didn’t quit. Beginning is suppppper tough and I understand wanting to quit. I wanted to as well. But the more you play, the easier it gets. You’ll still mess up occasionally, but you’ll be able to do it.

@@mr.randomperson9900 yeah I quit playing. I got the game for 8 dollars so no loss to me, I’m glad others enjoy it but I just didn’t think it was any fun.
