From the daughter of a flight attendant and a pilot: please please please, just be nice. Be respectful. I don’t want my mom coming home with a black eye bc you didn’t want to follow directions that were for your and the other passengers and crew safety. That’s their first and foremost job.

I’m in a wheelchair and so require more help and support from air stewards so I always bring something as a gift, sweets/ something from my home country if it’s an airline not from the UK etc. I do it to say thanks I’m advance for the extra help they will give me (wheeling me to the toilet and back, waiting longer at the end of the flight etc etc) never done as an expectation to have an upgrade.
