I am so happy you are reacting to Mr. Robot and keeping to it! I really enjoy watching you take this show in! When you mentioned Elliott talking to Darlene about it, I remember having the same kind of thoughts when I first watched season 4. (No spoiler ahead) But by some flashbacks and Darlenes interactions with Elliot/ Darlene talking about their parents, it is sadly pretty obvious that she has absolutely no idea about who their father truly was. In the Halloween Episode (when she first came back into his life), she was pissed at their mother, because "Every time she goes see their mom, she (mom) talks shit about their father." And, how she wishes she could remember their father more. There are a lot of examples, but thinking about it now, her holding their father as kind of "the only good parent they had" in her heart, might be the reason she is Elliott's trigger. He can't deal with her holding their father up to a pedestal and can bring himself to tell her the truth, so he relapses. Might also be the reason why she has such bad self esteem, because the "good parent" always picked Elliot, their father took Elliott to the movies, to his work, to the Ferris wheel etc. She was left behind. Elliott was always the "special one". Damn I have spent way too much time picking this show apart.

(First off the Kendrick bit at the start had me dying 😭)This show has really been a journey, I often feel like this episode is really underrated cuz it’s kinda overshadowed by the big reveal in the previous one, but I really love this one too. I love your analysis of the writing and filmmaking that makes mr robot (the character) seem so real, and it is really hard to remember that he isn’t actually there, which really makes the physical stuff interesting, but I feel like it makes the mental stuff a lot harder to cope with, he apologizes to Elliot for not being able to stop his father, but when you think about it back then, Mr Robot was also just a kid… just reflected to look like an adult in Elliot’s mind, a father that instead of hurting him, would fight for a better world, WITH him. Excellent reaction 💯 (also, side note, I love the yellow lighting this season, gives me major Netflix Daredevil Season 1 vibes)

It is definitely worth rewatching the series after you finish the whole thing. They drop so many hidden spoilers, but there's not enough context until you get to the end. All of the hour long episodes were commercial free when they first aired; can't remember the specific episodes, just the time length. I've been trying not to comment too much on these reaction to prevent myself from giving away any spoilers, but I love the reactions and analysis. Thank you for another great video!
