Well, the stigma of Gora in our society had came from when the British ruled in the subcontinent(India-Pakistan).As we all know,generally British people at the time were pretty light skinned(“White” or “Gora”) and since they had a superior status,us, brown people unconsciously related their light skin to superiority. It ultimately led us to believe that light skinned people were not only superior in status but In attractiveness as well. This same stigma continued to evolve in future generations as-well.This could also be related to the fact they wore nicer clothes, nicer makeup, jewellery etc, while we at that time were pretty poor, and these accessories that added to their beauty were also being related to their skin tone.
@areebaakram8974 жыл бұрын
Muhammad Umar i agree, ofcourse there are various instances throughout history that ultimately led to the birth of concepts like racism and cultural appropriation, and we cannot hold british-rule as the only leading cause.
@umermaqsood82194 жыл бұрын
I was scrolling through comments just so that I can read one comment about Gora Complex and British Rule. I was about to comment this myself but found your comment. Glad that someone knows about how British Rule was one of the causes that gave birth so Gora Complex in subcontinent. The people subconsciously mapped Gora color to superiority. And then their children inherited the same mapping and so on. These fairness creams still subconsciously map us to think that the more Gora you are the better you are. We have seen advertisement since we were kids. A person couldn't find a job, wasn't accepted in society because he/she was of a darker color. Then he/she uses the cream gets a fair color and suddenly gets a job and people start accepting him/her. We've been mapped to think Gora color is superior for ages now.

So , i think fairness creams ads should be banned bcz they literally make us think wrong!

Farah Rahman that’s the problem, they’re here talking that darker colour isn’t bad at all and suddenly when Shahveer pointed on Sundus for the darker people she got irritated. Why why why 😭 it’s not just them, it’s actually the mentality of our society in general

Farah Rahman they get defensive because of the trauma they been through in the past. They used to be slaves just because Of their colour. It’s really deep man you won’t understand. It’s not way to beat all the harsh words even till this day some people haven’t changed their mentality. black is just a colour for us but for them it’s worse than a curse word. They get bullied because of that.

I really loved the way you guys talked about such topics which can be considered so edgy, as you guys mentioned about world evolving and coming up generations, I would love to suggest a topic " deep insights of being a social media influencer, some pros/cons, do and don't and specifically about the future" just to inspire and motivate... you guys can explain that very well coz Shahveer been already a role model and Sundus been emerging influencer in a very short span of time

I really appreciate and admire when you talk about WOMEN RIGHTS, as our society lack the basic knowledge about it. You are doing a great job and i hope you keep doing it. However, not just in our society, but worldwide, women misuse their gender and play the WOMEN-ALWAYS-THE-VICTIM card. It would be really interesting and i would have a lot learn if someone like inspiring like you who raises voice on women issues

Hn it actually happens we give our opinions and they think we are misbehaving. But tbh sometimes our language is actually kinda rude and we don't realize it. No matter what we should talk to them politely even if they don't understand at first time,we shouldn't shout, instead keep explaining politely coz that's how they treated us when we were just a baby.

Shahveer is so right and this is why I love him. Skin color or your body weight absolutely doesn’t matter. I go through racism and body shaming every single day and that too from my own people. It’s really disrespecting. Sundas is very wrong. As she said about the cleanliness thing, I don’t think cleanliness matters with skin color. Not at all. And people goin through this knows how it feels.
@Traumatised3114 жыл бұрын
Shahveer is right people should not be bullied based on skin colour or body weight I was body shamed a lot my a lot of people also I am too fair skinned so I got called panda or whitener . Yes in India being too white is also bad, cause most people are darker

i just wanted to put this out there in a very respectful manner, we (indians, pakistanis, bangladeshis) were ruled by the british for over 200 years, and they established white supremacy. we were tortured because of our brown skin for more than 200 years and so even today, we think about brown or dark skin in a very derogatory manner. hopefully in the next few generations we'll over come this racial discrimination InshaAllah.

@hsafootballworld13214 жыл бұрын
Haseeb Mughal , why should we respect that. Islam has stated very clearly that A girl and boy can not be friends. The only allowed relationship between a male and female is marriage. Things like a guy and girl can be friends are western values. I don’t know why we like to copy them. And in Pakistan girls and boys should study separately because we are Islamic republic.

HSA FootballWorld but women work these days , and imagine a couple that is old and has only a girl child, she goes outside and works to provide her parents, so if she works, she gotta have contact with men, call it not friendship, but there can be a relationship between both genders aprt from marriage ... so o completely disagree with you ... n have a broader vision, all the banking system u rely on are the western , all the products, stop their usage, then we can debate on this fact...
