I find it really disappointing that the devs decided to scrap the duck ride, which I think would have been a very fun little experience to be on. I also think the platform room could have been used as a way to get a battery that would be needed to power a mechanism.

The scene where the little guys fill up dog day was one of the scariest in the game for me

i think the duck ride was essentially a rail shooter segment using the flare gun, where you move at a set speed on set path while needing to shoot the little guys to keep them away from you, while also needing to quickly opening the gates and keep yourself from getting stopped and thus caught since your on an already slow moving ride. it sounds like a really tense final challenge against the little critters themselves which would have probably happened right before the dogday chase sequence, given where it ends, but it was probably scrapped because of difficulty, like the timing of how fast you could shoot/reload the flares was too tight and playtesters couldn't get through it. that dead end end segment where you speculated the player would pick something up may have been where you originally GOT the flare gun hand, and player would immediately have to shoot the critters with it and dive them back to leave the room. but that may have been hard to do without already knowing they were driven back by the flares, and/or already knowing how the flare gun worked. so the devs moved the flare gun to be earlier so players could learn how it worked in a safe area before needing to use it against enemies. kinda cool they only dummied out the entrances and left the rooms themselves in game to be easily missed background details, though the rooms being visible from other areas probably was there originally before the areas were cut, they just make them inaccessible and added new paths instead of reworking everything.

The smiling critters video at the start of the game actually foreshadows Dogday's final moments. After Catnap puts them to sleep with his gas, you can see Dogday at the couch with Catnap with the same position as where he was found by the player without his lower half.

Duck ride would be fun if it had some obstacles and some fixed physics

This playhouse is extremely disappointing knowing that they scrapped two perfectly fine areas that we can see in the chase. It would have been cooler to go into these spots and see the chase scenes areas earlier.

In my opinion the 2:16 prototype shrine is nothing compared to the real thing except the skeleton that’s what catnap collected not what the prototype collected he has huggy mommy and cat nap expect chapter 4 to be scary

Speaking of Ruin, DogDay’s scene reminds me of the sadness from the Roxy cutscene in Ruin.

So finally got round to watching this, anyone I’ve not actually found anyone examining the shrine to the prototype it’s actually quite odd that there is no overlap between the guys like yourself that do the out of bounds/ behind the scenes stuff and the law hunters, at least not for these indie horror games, you get it in stuff like bloodborn and the soulslikes where they will literally brake the game down it it’s finest atoms looking for hidden lore but it’s odd that the likes of matpat hasn’t taken a much closer look (at least not that he has showed in a video). I mean we can assume that catnap has actually seen the prototype first hand as the boy that was before he became catnap was trying to help it escape, so if he/it built this shrine it must be quite close to what the real thing looks like? If not a 1to1 it’s got to be about 75% accurate so we can assume that the base shape is correct and as the arm is about the size of what we have seen the size may also be right, then we have to look at the rest so what else is standing out about it? The human on the front the fact I didn’t see any legs?

there is also quite a big thing that you have missed. so, in Dogday's room there is a little gate that is locked. If you where to hack through it though, you would actually find Catnap's room!. its actually pretty cool. The room has a large bed(presumably for Catnap because its huge and it is a cat bed) and you can see writing on the walls. in the room you can see hanging toys from the ceiling. pretty scary. now for witch gate? i dont really know the exact one but if you watch fuzionzgamers video he does find it!
