I think our time as a selling club out of necessity should be over regardless of FFP. I want to see us with a Man City approach. What I mean is hide the losses in a financial haystack and be prepared to take a 10 point penalty if required. Having said that…. I only see 2 positions that need strengthening over the summer if we keep our current squad. Longstaff is okay as a sub but not at the level needed to start so that position should be No.1 focus this summer. And we need another central defender. Keep Wilson, build the Team round Isak, Bruno and Gordon and Minta back as cover up front. We’re okay with what we have when they are all back. We need to remember that if we sell Bruno, we have Tonali coming back and that money can be invested in strengthening the squad. We had the similar situation back in the 90s when we sold Andy Cole. It's hard for me to moan about that. That said, we have mostly away games left and our away form this season has been dismal (14th). Would love to see a big run for these last 4 games.

I’ve said all along Gordon is better suited on the right, when we signed Barnes I assumed Gordon would be on the right. He was best there for Everton too. I’ve been baffled why he hasn’t played there more often and rotated around that way, but glad he’s showcased his suitability there before the end of the season because Barnes has to start, he has the quality to assist and score on a regular basis.
