I just realized I I've been smiling all through the video. As always Mark you are hitting the nail on its head. Personally I don't think one should pick up and move to Africa. Visit first, get a feel of the place. Example, when I knew Tanzania was my destination I visited for one month to be sure if I made the right decision. Looked at business opportunities, housing and quality of health care. People asked, did you go to Zanzibar? Did you do safari? Did you do this tourist activity and did you do that tourist activity? I always reply NO, I did not go to Tanzania for that, I went on a fact finding mission. Now that I have visited I know for sure Tanzania is where I want to be. I am making a second visit early next to get the process started so that when I make my final move the middle of 2022 I will hit the ground running, no time to wait, no time for excuses. I am giving up everything for this journey because I believe it is right, it must work, no turning back. Hey Mark I know you are very busy and don't always get to your emails on time, but please check whenever you have the time, I sent you an email

Thank you Kerry Bailey I could not have said it better myself. I have been to Tanzania three times before, looking to make a trip in 2022 after I retire and draft some kind of resettlement plan. We really need an African American resettlement agency in the different cities in America that are united with the diasporian communities in Africa. This will help in the resettlement and communal aspects of our African American families. Love and Peace Kerry.

Young man, your integrity is a great trait. Everything you said is right on the mark. Unfortunately, there is a large percentage of our people who don't want to hear this message. Some KZfaqrs are perpetuating a narrative Africa will solve all your problems when you arrive. KZfaq only captures a fraction of us living peacefully on the continent in many countries, East African nations included. The issue is that many see KZfaq and assume the ones with channels are the only ones here. Not the case. Many move, live peacefully, privately, and integrate with no problems. Assimilation takes time, but when it does it’s beautiful.

Mark you are a young man before your time!! And that is said in a very good way !!! I meant that you are a very smart young man!!!! I wish that I had half of your brain as a young woman growing up... let me tell you something you keep doing what you're doing .It's a wonderful thing! I understood your constructive criticism/ analogies..You said how are you going to know what Sad is unless you have experienced unhappiness....wow,yes so true..We need to learn how to toughen up and not get mad about something someone is trying to teach us or what they see that we don't see... it's okay to point out things .We learn from our mistakes at least you're keeping it 100% and you are so kind to apologize even if you are making a good point and think that you're making someone feel bad . That shows the type of character you have... I love it! You do not find that very much today especially here in the United States. Communication is the key . I could listen to you speak all day about what you are speaking about. I wish, hope and pray for you the best and all those who are working with you! Some of us have dreams about coming to Africa and being productive, but some of us just can't make it yet.So, hopefully by listening to you we are learning a lot before we get there. So, young man keep doing what you're doing because you are definitely on the right track and a help to myself and others. I am very proud to see a brother behave with class... And has dreams and ambition for himself and others. May Everything You Touch in Jesus name Workout for you and your projects.God bless 🙏🙏🙏🙏

People need a recurring income, an emergency fund, and viable skills. Young people must educate themselves. Do extensive research to learn what businesses are needed most before coming. In my opinion, the escalating racism in America has AA desiring to leave but you must have money. Many don't have that. They come to Africa with minimal funds and hope things will work out.
@hanabae_
@hanabae_ 2 жыл бұрын
Some people do make it on minimal funds and everything works out. Not everyone can come with recurring income. There is a couple in Gambia that came with 500 dollars from Jamaica and they are in Gambia over a year and they are doing well. They also just bought land recently. There is also a KZfaq family of four in Tanzania that came with just 6000 dollars and are doing well. Everyone’s path isn’t the same. Business sometimes fail, political and immigration rules change sometime you can prepare and things still don’t work out for you. I have been to africa several times before I settled down. The best path is the one the creator has made for you.

@@hanabae_ There are always exceptions to the rule. The key word is some not all. Some KZfaqrs are not truthful about how much money they came with either. Most of the time it's best to at least have savings so if your business fails you can use that to return home or live on while you think of another plan. The almighty expects us to use our common sense as well. However, everyone must decide for themselves.
@BlackCulturalPreservation2023

Good point. It’s all on how you manage what you hv but it is ideally to create/hv reoccurring income. Learn all the visa, immigration and land legalities upfront. Have a trust local friend, a recommended lawyer and know you are seen as money soon as locals here a foreign accent. More pros than cons in Africa but it’s not really a place to wing it with no savings.

What mark is saying is not just a Tanzanian thing it's an African thing, a lot of black people are afraid of cooperation and i think like mark said, we want to put our name on things and this i think stems from black people wanting to show off, which black people have turned into an art form, i believe that when black people are showing off they believe that this gives them some type of power or intelligence that other black people do not have. However this type of thinking and action has the opposite effect it makes us weak and unintelligent. We have really been bamboozled.

Honest question. Why is it the job of the diasporans to build the country? 2. Why can't they go there and just live? Tanzania is run by black people yet the richest people in the country are non black. All of that needs to be "critiqued". Essentially it sounds like diasporans are expected to go there and change yet the people there aren't expected to do things differently from what they've done that has led them to live in impoverished conditions whike having so much natural resources. Let's critique everyone not just diasporans.... Maybe approach from a consortium perspective that has the means to make big meaningful investments that we can control.

Your comment suggest that we diasporans go there and colonize the place, we are not that wicked to so such a thing. Diasporans have huge successful communities in places like Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Vietnam, Philippines, Brazil, Portugal, etc and do extremely well. Huge networks of business, philanthropy, and social activities. We need to place these in perspective as to how we do well in places we don't speak the language and no connection to the land yet in some places in Africa like Tanzania, we are expected to clean up a mess and remain quiet about the obstacles confronting us in the "Motherland". I don't think we belong in TZ or any east-africa country, most of us are from west-africa if your ancestors were slaves from Africa. Most of the countries in East Africa are influenced by arabic countries. The reason i say this because I follow about 50 youtubers, mostly are in west-africa and Rwanda and now also Burundi. The prblems of diaspora in west-africa are different and the diaspora going to these countries are better prepared by the AA in those countries. But Marc and some other people are the exceptions that are doing great in TZ.

I get what you mean but actually, there are many who have done DNA tests to find out there is 10% or more of East African (including Kenyan) ancestry, so yes in general the numbers are greater from West Africa but East African is not that rare

Mark u r doing a great job. I must say u r polite, humble and like how u r connecting with the locals + learning the language Swahili as that will help u integrate much faster. Regarding things to do/Boredom, ask the locals as they have the knowledge on how to survive in that land, they will surely pass on the information if one shows humility rather than I know all as I am from the Western world. Keep it up young man and God will bless every move you make. Kwa heri na salamu nyingi sana.

It is reliable enough that I haven't had too many issues with online activities. Typically the data is still available even when the power is off. Its different if you use wifi but I would say get an external battery and a hot spot router and it should be less disruptive to your productivity

I hear you Mark but how do you heal from a system that you lived in for 400 years and counting ? Until we get the healing that we need, maybe through programs the healing won't ever happen. We say we're healed , we say we're woke. But I see a lot of woke folk still doing the same thing that they've done for the last 500 years. No new educational system, no new opportunity, no new hospital system, no new system. No new justice system nothing ,we are trying to still live in their system our way and that's not going to work . They're not going to allow us to live in their system our way . So we have to totally separate and educate our own children and in turn educate ourselves and in turn getting new hearts. Do things different ,but where do we start? We can want something new all we want. But to continue doing the same thing you'll get the same results. That's what we're doing even when we go to Africa we're bringing that Western mindset there. We think they think we're better than each other. In fact we're not . Everybody including African Americans and Africans have been colonized and the mindset is colonized . We all have to be free and work at it daily in order to have that change mindset.

Hello Mark, this video was very disjointed and disorganized. This isn't like you. The first six minutes were nothing but people walking back and forth and not saying anything pertaining to the problems of the diaspora. It was hard to hear you; please turn up the volume. Wind noise was very intrusive. Maybe next time you should find a more sheltered spot for filming. You didn't introduce Vincent right away, the man from the UK, and tell us why he was with you today. And I felt a little uncomfortable listening to and watching the private conversation you were having with the man with his son. Meanwhile, keep up the good work with the young sons of Africa at the orphanage.
