This week I had another meeting for LA representation. Here are the questions I ask agents and maybe what you should be asking too? Let me know if you have ever met with an agent that was not what you were expecting.

I think your questions are absolutely legit and very important so keep asking them. One thing I heard you say during this vlog (and it might just be a slip) is that “they might only hire people…” well… They are not hiring anybody. You are the one hiring them so just remind yourself of that.

You are just so kind. If a agency wouldn’t answer my question, I would just move on from them. Like I feel they were sketchy. You dodged a bullet. You will find a agency that can suit your needs.

It's been a while since I checked in on you but it's good to see you still chucking away. About the agency thing as I have done it both ways. The reason they probably didn't want to answer your questions is they probably didn't want to repeat the answers a million times to the other clients. Even at the orientation, you could still walk away at any point in time because (at least in my experience) They don't give you a contract until after they conclude the meeting and if you wanted to think about it you usually can. I get that you didn't want to waste your time so I see what your thought process but that is the process that usually happens when you audition for agencies. Now when you are approached by an agent, the vibe is much more personal and chill. They're more available to you because that already means that REALLY want you. Even after I signed with them and she referred me to other agents in other departments (Commercial/adult etc), I still didn't have to audition, they just wanted to see if I was cool enough to work with and pretty much signed me right than and there. I definitely agree you have to find the agent who BELIEVES in you. Thats probably the most important thing. Keep on searching until you find what you're looking for. Also- For now just keep the agencies anonymous. Probably best in the long run as this town is small gossipy and probably the best way to go about it so you can stay honest but not intimidate other agencies to not hire you because of backlash.

You can tell when representation isn’t right for you because they aren’t questions about you, personally! When I was meeting managers, 2/3 of the meetings were us mutually getting to know each other. The third was only asking me questions, as if it were a job interview. So I knew I only had 2 to choose from! 😂

I think at the end of the day, you need to learn along the way and see what you like. During my first agent meetings years ago, I didn't know what to ask so I didn't have any questions. lol I so appreciate agents that are open to newer talent or else I would have never had the opportunity. :)

Hi Belgica! I discovered your channel yesterday and love your natural and honest way of doing your videos a lot. I relocated from Germany to LA a few months ago. I used Actors Access' Talent Link service and found a manager within 2 weeks. It's an easy way to find reps and the best, they contact you. Would love to connect with you, as I'm a newbie in town.

Thanks so much! My dream role is to play a Latina Kelly Kapoor in THE OFFICE is they were to make it in a Latin American country. I used to have my email in every video and bio but I was getting a lot of spam so instead I am happy with casting directors finding my information via my agents, IMDB Pro, and casting websites as that is the industry standard anyway. :) Hope you are having a great weekend too, thank you!

Thanks so much 😊 I have links in the description for what I use. I think having a good tripod and a good light source is a great start. Then, if you want to make it feel a little more ✨ fancy, you can get a paper backdrop. 😁 I have Savage Seamless.

Do you have a slate example exercise ? I have one due tomorrow and I want to stand out! 🙏😁 I have to do 2 minutes of my slate ! And since it ask for photo do I just take a good picture with good lighting in the exercise wear? Or it has to be professionally taken?

Hello! What instructions did they give you? The photos should not be professional if they are asking for "current stills". @@BelgicaPaola they told me where I have a 2 minute video saying my name, agency ,where I'm from,shoe size,clothes size, and talk about what's sports I use to do , to put in some stretching poses,running,weights ,yoga , add full body 360 turn, and any recent fitness photos and video I may have which I don't have video but I can take a reg. Photo of my workout clothes right now right?

I see! Okay, here is a playlist from July where I did a different self-tape example every day. Some are sporty, and some are answering questions. Yes, this one. amzn.to/3gYP2sm It comes with a few options. I usually only use the white one and I bought clips to attach it to the light.

@@BelgicaPaola Thank you so much for the link! Ive been trying different tricks to get rid of the "ring light" in my eyes. I tried a white shirt for a few tapes but I had to spend more time editing the tapes. I don't know why I didn't think of a diffuser!
