I am proud of you, Tamer, and you inspire those of us who are studying engineering. Yes, you did make some mistakes in your equations which likely resulted in your not being selected for one or more of the jobs; but your engineering knowledge and ability to recall it are absolutely amazing. Those were some tough questions, and I don't know how you kept your confidence up after receiving all those rejections. I'm not going to lie, I would have been feeling like perhaps I should have chosen another career major (lol). However, you are showing us that persistence is key and to never lose confidence in yourself and your undeniable worth. You were definitely born as an inspiration for the world, Tamer, and I would love to meet you one day. I feel like I could just sit with you and talk about engineering concepts all day and never be bored. Good luck on your interview(s), and I hope that the next update will inform us that you got the job.

I don't have much technical or professional experience but I am always bombarded with questions about them and I don't know how honest I can be with them. I know I am capable of handling those situations if they arrive but sometimes im left with no space to ask questions and it feels like a viva. its been bumming me out this job hunt honestly... so exhausted but im happy you're doing good progress. Salam Tamer - I think that being laid was a blessing in disguise for you. As a viewer these videos are probably the most interesting, entertaining and informative videos of yours I've watched. I believe that at the end of this process you will be better of for it and be grateful to have gone through a novel experience that makes your life more interesting. Its funny how quickly circumstances can change. I remember watching your day in a life videos a few months ago and being inspired to work harder while I was looking for an engineering job. Alhumdullilah I have been blessed with a job now that I'm very happy with and that I couldn't imagine landing a few weeks ago but now YOU are on the job hunt. Life is fickle like that. I know regardless of what happens you are destined for great things insh'Allah. Keep up the great work not just for yourself but for the millions you inspire now and in the future! P.S. I'm surprised at how technical your interview questions are. Mine were not so technical, maybe because I was applying to entry level positions?

Love these videos. As a (mechanical) design engineer who went through a bunch of interviews in a similarly competitive area one year ago, thanks for showing this. Good luck with the design challenge, interested to see more as this progresses. Some thoughts from someone who is worse at interviewing: for the tell me about yourself I'd be interested to hear more than just what's on your resume (maybe you already do this, it's probably good practice though since a lot of busy engineers dont have time to even read resumes before the interview). Make it catchy, elevator pitch. For the design questions, going beyond the equations and thinking outside of the box is another option. Like a tapered beam/rod to reduce the weight cantilevered, in turn reducing the weight load applied at the center of mass and thus the deflection. Or a cable that attaches from the wall to the end of the beam or a gusset on the bottom. Even using coding to create an algo. Something to make you stand out from just looking up an equation and saying things need to go up or down. Stress strain curves for aluminum versus steel could also get into different types of each (look at 7075-T6 Al vs mild steel). The answer is usually "it depends", depends on alloy, heat treat, type.

loving these vids dude! keep em up and good luck. I wonder how explicitly the company mentioned about Injection molding knowledge in their JD to ask you such detailed questions about the process. If they were detailed enough then it may be a fair rejection. But if they had some generic BS in their JD and rejected you based on 'your lack of IM knowledge', the hiring manager should be questioned on why he wasted both your and the company's time. I've been in your situation soooo many times when so late in an interview process I get to know they're looking from some very specific experience/skills that was never mentioned in the JD.
