I was there and about half track on the left side. The passenger rear tire came off the lip of the road. The one tire that had traction the driver rear and maybe a correction shot him to the left. He crossed the road almost instantly and disappeared into the brush. It looked like when he crossed he hit a culvert or a lip on the edge of the road. That started the flipping. The worst part is there were first responders there all day. But when he wrecked, they left on calls because it is a very small town. But he did need to be air lifed unfortunately that never happened. they had to cut him out. People were grabbing saws all electric saws to cut him out. It was a sad moment and happened in a split second. The whole thing was over in 10 seconds from the moment he left the line and stopped flipping. R.I.P cali Nate. The biggest regret I have was not meeting him in person. I’m not really the guy who wants pictures with “celebrities” but after this. I learned you may not ever get a second chance to. So seize the day every time you can. ✌️🏁

Man I hated hearing about this, he was on the street the weekend before in Oklahoma, truly a legend in the street racing world and will be missed by all of us! As a competitor you knew if he showed up you knew he was going to send you packing

You can cancel the street outlaws if you want to the street racing was around way before Street outlaws and it'll be around way after Street outlaws.

I knew him personally. For about 6yrs now. We were pretty close. He was a damn good friend and supporter of all the races I've ever done. I just watched a 10min video of nothing that made sense. You've got it all wrong.

"Cali Nate" lived in Caruthers, outside Fresno. Watched him street race many years from mid 90's to early 2000s. He was pretty successful, raced all over California. On and off track. Those who know remember the duster and elco.. Nate was deservingly well liked and well hated. His death was unfortunate, RIP Nate.

I see you failed to mention he also had ALOT of enemies & haters as well. To be honest, I couldn’t stand the arrogant dude and all his whining when he did lose (which wasn’t very often I might add). However, dude backed up his attitude 95% of the time by simply winning anyway 💁🏻‍♂️ Nothing but respect from THAT aspect cuz dude was a badass driver/racer whether you liked him or not! At least he literally got to go out doing what he was passionate about (and was ahead while doing it from what I can tell). RIP Nate

That he did lol. I won't talk bad about him. I will say back in Fresno a few of us called him bottle baby. He had a bottle on everything he drove and cried like a baby when he lost. But the man was fast and knew his stuff.

It pretty well know that car was a tin can. Most places wouldnt even let him run the car but since this was his home track i think they let it slide. The state that car was in and the power it was making it had no business frankly being anywhere but a garbage can. Had he been in Pony or something with a real cage he probably would have still been here, thats whats really the shame in all this but i guess the hussle game he liked to play finally cought up to him.

This is true, sometimes you think you're untouchable. Until you find out too late, you're not. Sad part is he left children behind. Like Dane says, you gotta have a safety program in place and put it in practice.

100% I got pictures of him in the Z like 2 weeks before the wreck. He is sitting before the driver's halo, with no neck brace. With his knees almost to his chest. A friend even had a convo with him about it. Telling him this looks sketchy as fuck. He replied, Yeah, but it's fun as fuck to drive.

Street out laws isn’t the issue street outlaw is why a lot more people know whose these people are. They were street racers before the show and more than likely would have been street racers if the show had n ver taken place to blame the show is idiotic. It is sad but recon is dangerous and street racing is even more dangerous. The driver know this and that is probably part of the thrill. It’s like a drug to many of us. If snare had not been on the show no one would have known who h is except for the people that street race and no prep race.

You can't fight fate! No matter what we do, we take risks. We could be killed driving to work.. should we quit working too..? As a friend of Nates and fellow racer, you couldn't get that man out of a car! He'd be running both cars at some places! Never too big to be with the smaller people either, and always kept it fair! He was a hell of a tuner though and was hard to beat, it was experience, drive, dedication, passion and in drag racing, all that preparation, we still take a risk each time we strap in to make a pass! If I could choose how God takes me, it'd be doing this, it's a lifestyle to many, hobby to some, but definitely a passion for all!

I hate to say it butwhen you look at the really bad crashes i.e. big chief lutz monza doc. They were barely hurt because they had all the prkoer safety gear. Unfortunatly to many of these cars are built beliw spec and alot of drivets on the street dont ware all the proper safety atire. Dont know if any of that played in at this incodent but r.i.p. cali nate

These guys know the danger, and they race because it's their passion! If it wasn't filmed, they would still do it! The biggest problem is people racing cars that aren't built to the highest safety standards. His car was a modified street car and built to be light, not built like a promod. Trisha Wayne had a really bad crash and she survived because the car was built much stronger. There is no problem with shows like this! They really just need to race on 4 lane roads with good shoulders and no culverts or cars parked half way down

They need to quote racing on surface roads and keep it on The damn track and some other tragedies could be avoided that's why the MOST ALL OF THEM WENT TO THE TRACK AND NPK. ALSO THE TEACKNISNT THE STREET AND ON COUNTYBOR CITY ROADS REGARDLESS OF FILIMING OR NOT IS THW MOST DANGEROUS. RIP CN
