What's your definition of a real builder? You seem to think that 99% of everyone who worked there, was a fake builder since you literally just said that 1% of them, which you said was Rick, was a real one.

​@Steveman27 a true bike builder like Indian larry, Russell pool, Jesse james, Billy lane , Matt hatch etc. They build the bike from the ground up. Most off OCC was really just assembly. They ordered everything from the frame to the tank and fenders then just added a wrench or webbing. Their bikes honestly weren't riders either. They were just display peices for a corporate lobby. He means Rick's the only real builder who can fabricate metal. It's not hating just being honest. If you work on a harley davidson assembly line you are an assembler not a custom bike builder like the ones I mentioned who build everything accept the engine custom

@@ScottD-44 designer doesn’t necessarily mean you have to do all the work, that’s a bike builder. It’s the concept and visionary that comes to mind that makes one a designer

Paul Jt business is till alive , so he seem to be doing OK by selling over priced caps and t-shirts , but he could not even paint the bikes just as most designers . Also i dont consider a bike without any sprigs to be a good design. Do you have a car ? Can i come and take springs away from that and replace those with solid bars ? I will also remove speedo , you dont need that on road , and i will install brakes from 1960 Mini Cooper , who cares if those were made for a car that weight doubled with 4 adults in it .

And it was a business because of him. It wouldn’t have even existed, had he not started it. Neither would have the show, or his son building bikes. Jr. was a disrespectful, lazy, arrogant, cry baby. Now that he is older, he realizes some of the big mistakes he made, when with his dad. Both of them had issues. Had they stayed together and worked like a team, they would be bigger than ever. Both of them. Instead, they are both struggling to even remain relevant anymore. Sad for both of them…

The entire company makes cake toppers. They are over done and interesting looking. But the bikes are not something you want to ride.

The OC clearly has never worked in any industry where things are custom made there's a reason we check with the customer multiple times in the design phase and then charge extra for reworks and changes after the design is finalised and fabrication and construction proceeds/concludes. Though he is right on one thing throwing a tantrum like that is completely out of line

Paul Sr is a difficult man to work with and he totally lacks tact or social skills. He could have handled this more professionally, like saying that the more he sees of the bike they're building, the more he feels HE has made the wrong decision. That would have let Jason know that it wasn't specifically his design that Paul Sr. didn't like, but that Sr. had had a change of heart. A professional artist like Jason would then probably have said something like "fair enough. Do you think we can salvage this build or do we have to start with a clean slate?" and the problem could have been solved without much fuzz. Sr. and Jr. also always clashed about this specific point, but in their case both of them changed their mind regularly during a build. Jr. often didn't have a full design and mostly made things up as they were going and Sr...... well, he was Sr: always changing his mind. I liked the series in the first few seasons, but in later seasons they'd pretty much turned the shop more into a factory: they had a standard frame that they used for almost every build, they used crate engines from Harley, they had a short, a medium and a long front fork and they had either the soft tail or the hard tail rear that formed the components that made up the base for every build. The rest was just cosmetics: different tank, different handlebar, different head- and rear lights etc. They didn't really build custom bikes anymore; they built the bikes THEY were comfortable with building and had a sales pitch to the customer that made it sound like the bike was custom built.

That show started a very expensive craze and made millions, like the bikes or not they were bang on trend at that time

My dad (a former Harley rider who no longer motorcycles) said it best Their bikes look amazing and that’s what you pay for because they drive like shit If you want to ride one Harley is your way to go
