I got shocked by a hair dryer plug and I felt like I was paralyzed for 1 second I don't use a hair dryer anymore

My grandpa was struck by lightening and his eyesight improved tremendously because of it.

This just happened to me yesterday. I thought I was going to die. Literally! One silly mistake and you’re gone. So scary! I had a panic attack afterwards because I never felt like this before. It’s so painful and weird and I’m so grateful I survived!

When I was 3, I stuck two keys in a plug because I was really bored and my parents were paying attention to my sister at that time. Luckily the two keys had a circular keychain holding the them together so the electricity didn't go to my heart. Once I stuck them in the power went out and my parents heard me sobbing from the other room "IM SORRY" When they came in, they saw a big black streak down the wall and a messed up looking child.

I got shocked two times and it went up my arm, felt kinda good.

I was trying to plug in a lightbulb when I was 7 and my hand slipped and touched the metal contacts. Luckily, I wasn't tall enough so I was standing on some tires. I only felt slight discomfort, but that experience has made me more cautious around electricity ever since.

When I was a kid, we had a metal staircase in the front yard of our home directly to a separate second floor. I remembered it as it was a thunderous, rainy day. I was hurriedly going up that staircase when I heard a thunder and there's this jolt of electricity that I felt running from my feet up my body for a bit that made me paralyzed for a second. The funny thing is, the staircase was not directly hit by that lightning and it was covered from rain, so I don't understand why it was electrocuted.

My cousin died from electric shock, she fell on an electric circuit and her muscles clamped so she couldn't get off it.... :( it makes me sad thinking about it.

Mon., July 3,2023 I’m on vacation at Mérida, Yucatan while sight seeing it started pouring rain I went for cover and stepped on an uncovered electrical box and was electrocuted and fell down. I was unable to disengage and set myself free while screaming for help! Only God and my guardian angel saved me!! I was in disbelief that by God’s mercy and grace I’m alive and not injured.

When I was little, I was curious, I was at my grandfathers house and I spotted a plug with a safeguard over it. Being the curious child I was, (like 4 years old) I grabbed a fork and lifted the safeguard and the fork was an inch away before my grandmother spotted me and pulled me away from the plug, she lectured me how it was dangerous and I soon agreed and knew the dangers of electricity

Lost my uncle to electrocution in the early 80's. He was cleaning out some metal irrigation tubes and was tamping one to remove a clog. The irrigation tube hit the high voltage line above him and killed him instantly. My aunt learned about it during and afternoon newscast.

I've been getting shocked by static electricity, and for the past few weeks, it's been more intense, enough to see the current from an inch or two away. I've been shocked by different sources too, such as power cords (which did turn on a clock for a second)and light switches, and also a tablet, phone, and lastly, earbuds.

Just watched your video. Thanks, very informative. I got electrocuted a few weeks ago, I am on the mend but still trying to work out what happened. In a nutshell I was window cleaning here in the Uk with a carbon pole with my feet on the ground and when I lifted it up I touched without realising a three fase power line. I started shaking and fortunately my pole when forward when I dropped. My legs could not hold me anymore. I lost consciousness and my wife managed to revive or resuscitate me after a good minute or two. She said my eyes where opened and rolled back and I was breathing heavily, then my breathing nearly stopped and after compressing on my heart and shaking me I regain consciousness and she drove me to hospital. I felt like I was beaten up. I had some boils on my hands especially the left one and I literally had holes in my feet with a bit of black burns and literally burned my socks, had one small little hole on exit on the right foot and a few little ones on the left foot. I did had work boots, a bit worn out from before but all was smelling burnt now. In hospital I spent my first night in icu and my heart rate was very low and my kidneys were not working well the first night, by the morning my kidneys started working normal again and my heart was better but the rate kept going up and down. Eventually after I got home I had a private therapy and my heart got better. Now I got a lot more energy and I work again. Still recovering though. I was wondering what could have happened if my wife wasn't there or if I didn't have private treatment. Anyway things are better now :)

i was stupid enough to put a screwdriver into a light fitting to try and get rid of a stray piece of polystyrene.. learnt a valuable life lesson to make sure things are unplugged before fiddling with them!

I'm medically retired at 35. Commercial Electrical Foreman. I got caught on a back fed 277v full load likely 14/16 ampers (lighting) and to save my life kicked my ladder. Fell and broke my lower back. 2 compression fractures, a 10mm herniated disc requiring surgery, a broken wrist, turn rotator cuff and electrical burns are what was my early diagnosis.. later comes PTSD, Narcolepsy, arthritis, and my back will never work the same.... stay safe.

A defibrilator can give it a controlled shock to bring it back in order, nothing else...

My dad was saved by electricity cuz he had a Seizure and was in the hospital for a week and my 17 year old sister took care of me for that whole week the doctors kept on saying how it was a miracle that he survived and I realized I was really lucky and those were the darkest days of my life and that happened like half a year ago

I had stents put into the arteries, leading to my heart. Before the surgery began, they attached an electrode to my back and one on my chest, "just in case" my heart stopped. It did. They shocked me, and all I remember, when it was happening, was by whole body "bowed" and my face was very close to a machine they were using. I had to go back, for them to do another surgery, a few weeks later, and the people in the operating room said that they'd heard about me and glad everything turned out okay.

I actually got electrocuted before when i was little. So we had this big fan that had a pole that it could stand on and so it was high and it could go left and right so it could get cold air everywhere. I was trying to unplug the fan and i put my finger near the socket where the electricity was coming from. And yeah. If ur wondering if getting electrocuted hurts or stuff like that. Its just like ur standing still and u cant move or breathe or do anything untill u let go.

Guys, it all depends on your Body Resistance (Ω), not everyone have the same resistance but for average everyone it can't go over 16mA flowing through your body. And to calculate that, u can do this: Voltage÷YourResistance×Current

I survived an electric shock. 240 V and 200 Amps. Blew me back about 3 feet and knocked me out. Woke up and a crowd of people around me with someone calling 911. Turns out it stopped and restarted my heart all at the same time. Went to the hospital in an ambulance and they did a full work up on me. My whole body was locked for over an hour. Made a full recovery and the Dr. said I needed to go buy a lottery ticket. I actually felt the current go in my finger, up my arm, through my chest, down my left leg and out my foot. Only minor entry/exit burns.

When I was 10 our physics teacher gave us a a small light bulb , 2 wires and a battery . He told us to make a simple circuit , but I deviated and connected the wires to the main outlet , the bulb exploded and I was getting electrocuted , but the circuit breaker saved my life . Silly right ?

My friends and I had an initiation ritual for all of our sleepovers and the rule was that you had to grab onto this electric fence and stay there for 30 seconds. Pretty stupid thinking about it now.

A defibrillator doesn't suddenly start a heart like the video suggests. It's a device that's actually designed to stop the heart. Yes, the defibrillator is designed to treat ventricular fibrillation (heart spasms) and ventricular tachycardia (abnormally high heart rate) when there's a heart attack. But it doesn't return the heart back to normal, instead it just straight up stops the heart. CPR is the most important part of reviving someone, and a defibrillator is only an aid to assist in CPR. modern defibrillators can analyze what the heart is doing and decide if a shock is needed.

I've been shocked at least once. I saw a fence keeping some horses in their pasture, and I wondered to my dad if the fence was electric. He told me that there's an easy way to find out, so I did. It was indeed electric. Dad knew that if it was electrified, it wouldn't be a serious health hazard for me, so he didn't stop me, and we had a good laugh about it on the way home.
